There are times there are idiots or just plain stupid when buying a product by impulse, w/o research... I love my Adventure 10, beats buying a North Face Bag, even bought a Rain Cover for RAIN!
I need to right some wrongs in SmallTatty's review. 1) You can fully access the side mesh pockets for water bottles. I carried (2) 1 Liter water bottles, one in each mesh pocket and had no problem accessing them while wearing the bag. 2) The Hip Harnesses cannot be adjusted in any way not matter if it is on your back or off. 3) I cant imagine how the carrying handle bounces against the back on your neck, the carrying handle rests on the shoulder straps which are a good 3 inches from the neck.
You cannot use the side pockets for drink containers because the elasticized top is the wrong shape. It is easy to take stuff out, but a mother of all fights to replace them. ALL hip straps have size adjustments, amazingly this one cannot be adjusted while it is being worn. The carrying handle flops forward towards the wearer. As it flops forward of the backpack by THREE WHOLE INCHES bouncing on the back of the neck is a major problem.
Sorry I'm not on the Tamrac payroll. It's a great backpack, you just need some common sense to go along with it. The backpack was built for a tall person. If you're vertically challenged then that's your problem.
1 Billion Dollars Mwahahaha! Seriously though it's a good backpack. I haven't experienced any of the problems that you have experienced. Not every bag is going to be for everyone.
1) That's why you try the bag on at the store or return it after you find out that the bag doesn't fit you. It's your own fault if you decided to hold on to it for 6 months when it wasn't the bag for you.
2) The backpack is water resistant not waterproof. Buy a rain cover for it.
3) This bag is made for someone that is 6'2" and up. It's not Tamrac's fault that you're short.
4) Sell the bag if you dislike it so much and stop your whining.
The expensive backpack was purchased in the summer. The only bad weather guidence was from liars like yourself. As a six fout four inch person i can say that it is a bad design , no matter what the hight of the person. The built in rain protection can cause damage to the contents because of its defective design. If you really owned one you would have picked up on these design flaws when it first rained. Ypu are a wannabe and have been found out, so live with it and move on.
@SmallTatty No where in any literature that accompanied the bag did it claim that the bag was waterproof. You assumed that on your own.
I'm a wannabe what exactly? You can't even spell for god sakes and you're blaming me for a bag that doesn't fit you. You had more than ample time to return the bag for a refund. Instead you want to piss and moan because of your own stupidity.
You're the one that needs to move on and get a life.
On the Tamrac website it clearly states that it offers weather protection. I won't try to explain weather protection to you because of your level of intellect. That claim of weather protection was one of the major reasons I purchased it. Because of your intellect i suggest you read my last post more than once.
Weather Protection and Weatherproof are 2 very different things. Weather Protection means it is Water Resistant. How long were you in wet weather with the backpack and do your fellow Royal Marines know that you whine like a two year old?
The zippers are not waterproof which is the basis for your whole water seeping into the compartment argument. So once again how long did you have the backpack out in wet weather you wanker?
Carrying handle bounces about on the back of my neck. Hip harness can only be adjusted before it is on the back. Zip weather flaps jam the zips too regular. Has the comfort of a shoe box when worn. Side mesh pockets inaccessable while being worn, and that means you cannot use them for drinking water without taking the thing off. No place to put the tripod without paying for attachments. Attachments need to be bought for a usable water bottle holder. It also shouts out camera equipment too loudly
I looked at this backpack at Calumet today and it's a great pack! I'm 6'6" and the 25" is appreciated. It says on the Tamrac tag that the backpack can be allowed as a carry on only if the top part isn't stuffed full of stuff and can be collapsed to fit the carry on required size. Hope that helps.
This looks like a great backpack, but too bad they used a 15" MacBook to demonstrate how a 17" laptop would fit.
My 17" MacBook Pro is VERY tight and difficult to load and unload. If I had a sleeve on the computer, it would never fit inside this backpack. Definitely not easy for airport security checks.
The LowePro CompuRover AW has a much roomier laptop compartment for my MacBook Pro, but the interior top compartment is smaller than the Adventure 10.
This is a great video of a backpack that should be a fine addition for a photographer needing more space than the Adventure 9 provides. I wish the narrator would comment on whether the overall height of 25 inches would be allowed as carryon baggage on the airlines. I am also concerned that the backpack could be a problem to access the camera on the trail when you are in a spot where it is impractical to set it down. I'd like to see another video of the backpack in action.

Please comment on the backpack, not each other....

Great backpack. It is indeed water resistant, not waterproof (as most backpacks) a raincover works fine in heavy rain.

Either the backpack is defective or you are. I am leaning towards the latter.

How much are they paying you to suck innocent victims towards this badly thought-out, badly designed backpack?

The backpack is a lemon, just like your honesty, as the video response shows.

They also claim it has a waterproof exterior.
Now stop throwing your rattle out of the pram and grow up.

The badly designed rain flaps covering the zips are claimed to make them waterproof.
I take it growing up is a little beyond you.
