Yeah both 5.7 LT1 but the Impala SS had freer exhaust, better intake, better heads and a more aggressive cam. Why put in a T-56 when you can stall the 4L60E and get better performance and more consistency. Plus running a 4.56 gear in a 7.5 inch rear is a recipe for disaster. Stall and 3.73's are the hot ticket. Your information is in error on just about everything but you're 19 and green. Nuff said.

2. This car is sick, great paint job, rims a little big for my taste, but I still like it. Secondly, to everyone, there is no such thing as a Caprice SS for 1996. People who own them, and have the 5.7L just call them "SS".

The Impala SS will do 150+, the caprice says stop at about 119MPH. True the Impala SS and Caprice (if equipped) can have a nearly identical motor, but not the exact same. Also a Caprice 9C1 (police package) has EVEN more spec differences that the Impala SS.

@bigd50 Caprice ss (i own one) where made as an export version of the impala ss  , its the same impala ss , they just change the quarter panel scripts from impala ss to caprice ss also the script above radio , also no cats converters and the head lights are t84 , way better then the US version . At the end if you think about it all this cars are caprices with options , check your title and you will see there is no such impala ss anywhere there , an impala ss is just a caprice wx3 option.
