I just saw the movie, and it moved me. There's nothing more to it.

I had some expectations for this movie but it went way beyond that.

This movie gets you, you will not burst in tears, this movie will not blast you away with pounding questions. But it will make you feel every emotion that you have. And in the end you'll come to youtube and try to write down what feel, and what every aspect of this movie ment to you. But you'll fail, its not you its just impossible.

In one scene of the movie, Father Janovic offers Walt forgiveness for all the killing he was ordered to do in wartime. Walt cryptically tells the priest that what haunts him are the things he did that he wasn't ordered to do. Later, Walt later tells Thao that he shot a young soldier in the face, though the kid was trying to surrender. It's the one killing he commited in the war that he wasn't ordered to do and thus he can't forgive himself for it. Only the car, his dog and beer offer solace...

Great song, I think that in the movie, the car is a symbol of his heart, which he doesn't trust to anyone. Not his sons nor his grandchildren. It's only until he comes along the most unlikely of friends that he is able to give his car(and by that his heart) to another person then himself. The car becomes a symbol of love, and as with all symbols of love it cannot be taken only be given. Clint Eastwood at his best.
