how do i download a windows movie maker that HAS a timeline? i mean, i hate the newest version! It sucks horribly! You can't edit well, everything seems tedious and impossible to do. I tried getting used to the new movie maker, but it never applied to me.

They should update the old version, keeping the tools just as simple, but with better capabilities, better video compressing (like with the quality and such), and just keep it to where we can actually SEE what we're doing and understand how to do it without hours of tutorials to make 1 tiny video.

the only problem with windows live movie maker is slow motion, but thats not a problem, go to download.live.com and download windows essensials, but if you only want to update movie maker then click on movie maker and just download that essensial, and once you have downloaded it, restart your computer and the next time you use wlmm you will see speed on the edit, and you can speed it up or slow it down as much as you want, wlmm is the best. goodluck

Well i have the FULL version of windows 7 home ed. Like you I was absolutely upset that Microsoft gave a crappy movie maker for win 7. The one in XP is very good. Nonetheless, I made a video using Windows Live Movie Maker, and it's NOT THAT BAD. I added my movie and sounds and used a feature called "Auto Movie" that gives you transitions for every slide, a title, and a credits region. And yes, you can MOVE the text box. LOL
Third, the beta versions were different, depending on when you downloaded it. Some had HD, some didn't, which brings me back to the point o this software being a beta.

1. He had those videos on before YouTube finally put a cap limit on
2. He is a YouTube Partner, but doesn't advertise or use many of it's features.
I haven't visited TheAmazingAthiest yet, but without that, I can only assume that's what happened.

It looks like Windows thinks the only people who use the program are grandmothers who want to share videos of their grandkids with their family and expect them to import the pictures, click automovie, and be done with it.
There couldn't POSSIBLY people who've learned a whole bunch of tips and tricks to make a video made in Movie Maker look good.

wow, i'm appalled. i use movie maker vista all the time for filmmaking projects. people sort of look down upon it, but it's a really basic program that's free, easy to use, and can produce a quality video if the user is knowledgeable.
but this... this is junk. everything is downgraded. why did the developers waste their time and money?! also, no undo option? really, microsoft? you might as well do away with a save option while you're at it.

Well i have the FULL version of windows 7 home ed. Like you I was absolutely upset that Microsoft gave a crappy movie maker for win 7. The one in XP is very good. Nonetheless, I made a video using Windows Live Movie Maker, and it's NOT THAT BAD. I added my movie and sounds and used a feature called "Auto Movie" that gives you transitions for every slide, a title, and a credits region. And yes, you can MOVE the text box. LOL

Third, the beta versions were different, depending on when you downloaded it. Some had HD, some didn't, which brings me back to the point o this software being a beta.
