  • I would like to see the Fox voice announcer make a comeback.

  • they used music from Star Trek: First Contact in the background? LOL

  • As much as I like Elway and the Broncos, Farve and the Packers should have won in 98 to make it back to back and give Farve the MVP

  • this superbowl meant 100 times more than SB45 a 29 year drought of a championship, a season like 96 this will always be green bays best SB

  • @ThunderCough

Also the Packers were the best team in 96,The Packers last year was lucky, It was the Steelers title to lose

  • @efan2011 i disagree, they werent lucky they earned it yea the steelers had 3 turnovers but what if the packers offense didnt score after 2 of them? green bay earned it the hard way this year

  • go packs go

  • This marks the second time that the Packers are on Fox, and the first time that the steelers are on this channel and the fourth and final network that the Super Bowl all-time Champions are on....Since Fox always broadcasts NFC and favors NFC, I'm rooting for Green Bay to win to continue their winning streak on Fox. This game will be better than the commercials and the halftime and the national anthem.

  • @kascnef82 boy were you right! Xtina flubbed the Anthem, and the BEP's totally sucked! Nice prediction haha

  • This is when NFL on Fox was good! Now it sucks! Joe Buck and Troy Aikman put me to sleep, and their B team with Tony Sirgorousa always looks like he is about to pass out and Darly Johnston never shuts up!

  • God 2:29 just ruins the epic seriousness of it, doesn't it?

  • We're back! Packers vs Steelers!

  • I didn't need to see anymore to get hyped after seeing namath's game face

  • Good ole new orleans

  • I remember this game not only for brett favre's only win, but for some of the best movie ads during the game. The year before, on NBC, id4 was the first time I saw a movie's ad ever. Sony did a complitation of their biggest movies for the year, with the line "forget your nachos". Can anyone post a link to the ad so I can watch it on youtube?

  • This was the first Super Bowl broadcasted by FOX

  • these '96 packers were STACKED. but this was a great game, a matchup of 2 of the greatest qb's of all time with favre and bledsoe

  • This Packers Team was loaded, the only thing that I felt wasn't all that "great" was our Offensive WR Core, which in the hands of a 26 yr old Brett Favre looked like they were Top-Tier, had their not been so many WR/TE injuries that year, I felt we would have a better record then the 13-3.

Anyhow, this team was a powerhouse, w/ no real "glaring" weaknesses, our special teams was Broken, our Def. was Top (Jones, Gilbert, Dotson, and White on the line!), & our Off w/ Prime Favre was unbelievable.

  • @TrueSephiros don't know if you know this, but this team and the 1985 bears were the only 2 teams to ever lead the league in points scored and points allowed! Not to mention they probably had the best special teams too with Desmond Howard too!

  • @ehoss07 Yeah, I was checking that out too.

This team was completely stacked to the brim, I mean, they made me a believer before the season started. I remember just within the first Three Games of that season the offense averaged a ridiculous 38 ppg (Favre threw 11 TD's in 3 games!), while the defense held opponents to a measly 9 ppg, then if you added our special teams, are you kidding me.

We only gimped in the mid-season was because we lost all of our offensive weapons.

  • Best super bowl ever . . . of

Man, I have so many fun memories of XXXI

  • Goddamn cell phone signal.

  • Bledsoe vs Favre?

I dunno, Brady vs Rodgers sounds a lot more EPIC!

  • I wish i saw this super bowl when i was 5. I'm kinda disappointed the pats lost this to green bay, but Green Bay took it, and i respect them as a pats fan.

  • the beginning background sounds familar

  • yo momma sux

  • Thank God there was no Fox Football Robot lol

  • @timskywalker Oh my God, that was the worst ever

  • There was no way the Patriots could've won this game against the Packers, although I did disagree with the play-calling by Parcells in most of this game. I was always questioning why they didn't run Curtis Martin more. Ah well, at least the Pats gave the Pack a game until the Howard kickoff return.

  • "There is no game bigger than the Super Bowl. That I guarantee."

    Joe Namath.

    Best part of the intro.

  • Why does this intro call Brett Favre "New orleans's Favorie Son"? Favre is from Kiln, Mississippi and played college ball at Southern Miss.

  • well i guess kiln is like an hour away from new orleans

  • this was so close to being panthers/jaguars. how crazy would that have been (both teams were only in their second year)

  • it would have been crazy but green bay and new england kicked their asses

  • wait.. why is sydney in this intro? Australia doesn't care, i know, i am australian!

  • hahahahahahaha. Good point.

  • i wish lambeau field would host a super bowl

  • that wud be tite but the weather wud be too cold :(

  • @ROHORunner45 Rules state that the site must be covered (dome) or high temps 50F in early February.

  • Comment removed

  • @ROHORunner45 If New York could host it, we know Lambeau would sooner or later.

  • @ROHORunner45 I don't think the NFL wants the chance of snow at a Super Bowl. I do think it would be cool if Lambeau hosted one though...but I don't see it happening....but there is a chance. My home state hosted ONE super bowl, and now the roof of our stadium is gone :/

  • The SuperDome looks so boring on the outside

  • GO PACK GO

  • Thanks for Favre. =)

  • Man, this was the first super bowl where I got really DRUNK, shots of whiskey and a 12 pack of Rainer Ice (<--- Bad Moon Hangover) .

  • This was the very first Super Bowl I've ever watched!!!

  • haha mine too

  • Is this fox first or second coverage of the superbowl?

  • Their first; Fox acquired the NFC games from CBS in 1994 (who would get the AFC games from NBC in 1998).

  • This was FOX's first Super Bowl. ABC received the first Super Bowl in the 1994 contract. FOX should have had XXX, but CBS and NBC swapped XXVI (originally NBC, but changed to CBS for the 1992 Winter Olympics) and XXVII (originally CBS, but moved to NBC). Therefore, NBC got XXX, its third in four years. FOX took CBS' turn.

  • ABC's first Super Bowl was Super Bowl XIX.

  • Bledsoe was the Man

  • Thank You for being a dick

  • This marks the third time that The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl (The first two was I and II) and marks the second super bowl loss of the New England Patriots (first was XX, which they loss to the Bears). The Packers beat New England Patriots to win their 3rd title and contined their undefeated Super Bowl streak until January 25th, 1998 when Denver ended Green Bay's Super Bowl winning streak.

  • Actually, I credit both Denver's great play, and the Packers lack of play. Packers seemed to not be well prepared that game.
