  • i like this were both goofy , i can relate pretty much..

  • whats up with the music???

  • that wind is annoying

  • I see Sooo Many people talking about what wheels to get what trucks what board blah blah I know people including myself that can slide and 180 and speed check on inheats which are meant to be carving wheels. Just ride what you got and get use to it and start to try new stuff and ride with a mate

It's amazing what you achieve while pushing yourself :)

  • Nice music...

  • hardness isnt as important as the type of urethane, the shape of lip and the geometry of the wheel. if you want to learn how to slide try something like 70mm with a really round lip and small contact patch. the duro will play a bigger part for how long your slides will be. metro motions 80a are perfect. they slide better then my 86 stimulus

  • heeeeyy! That's the guy from the Munkae trick tip videos!

  • Can I speed check with gravity blazer wheels ???

  • @edgarr198 u can speed check with any wheels its just that some are easier than others

  • I just got an apex 37 (got bored of cruising around on my pintail) but I was wondering If i needed to get some retros or abecs to do some speed checks. It came with 76mm rubbery stock wheels.

  • subtle advertising.

  • and what are the wheels??

  • are these paris trucks???

  • great vid dude thanks :)

  • "do it gently becasue you dont wana kil yourself"

  • If you want to Slide and don't know about what wheels to get, it's about gripness with the ground. 80a+ will ever do for Sliding, even 78a sometimes. More than the duros, it's over your weight, your feet strenght and experience.

Example: If you are low weight, don't have any experience, and have a low feet strenght, you might need higher duro wheels, like 83a~86a+.

If your case is the same but you are a little higher weight, you could use lesser duros, 80a~83a. Your weight will compensate grip.

  • i can get it out to 90 but i cant bring it back or hold it hout my wheels catch! plz respond

  • What's your setup? It looks awesome

  • ive got some purple orangatang wheels and there grippy. is their anyway to make it more slippy? can u pratice at a steady speed?

  • I would love to try this but I have "45" in

  • great tutorial man!!

  • alex chen 215 it should automaticly pop back in like wen u do it it should just suk back in pretty easy

  • this video is so chill.. nice trick tip

  • Yeah spicoli!!! What a cool dude :)

  • @AaronAMVs loose trucks save lives

  • i did that with out relizing it and it scared me lol

  • Is your weight more on one foot than the other when initiating the slide?

  • how do u suck them back in? i can get into the slide, but cant slide back

  • @alexchen215 release pressure on your back foot

  • @alexchen215 you have to work on pushing your front foot foward. sort of like a scissor kick. i will be making a trick tip for it soon so message me for my other channel for some tips.

  • @alexchen215 he explained it in the vid, and also u need more speed to have enough time to bring it back in

  • the 90s called... they want there ponytail back!

  • What're you riding in this video?

  • im a beginner my wheels are 78A is that ok for sliding?

  • @TheDirtbike24 You can slide on any duro, harder is just easier, but some people swear by the softer duros

  • @TheDirtbike24 depends on the 'thane used. what wheels are you riding? ...probably s9 nineballs?

  • @SuperTallMidget there free riding abor wheels

  • For freeriding which is better? Polar, crisis or rogue?

  • Bonobo!!!

  • is that your grip tape of have you duct taped your board together

  • @sayshun The reason that putting ur arm back helps is cuz ur shoulder arent squar with ur hips as much as not putting ur arm back, so even thow ur pushing the slide out its gonna go that way, but wana come back cuz ur hips naturaly wana be square with your shoulders.

  • Do I need to have my heels off the rail too do speed checks ? I noticed my toes are always off the rails idk if that's good or not

  • @Burzum9666owns

I would say having your heels off the rail is a great idea of you are planning on doing any big slides. Even for small slides, I would say it's a good habit. Having your toes off the rail could lead to eating shit, or possibly slipping off the board.

  • @Burzum9666owns Crap sorry to double post but, I mean speed checks. Sometime if you're going extremely fast you want to do long heelside slides. Otherwise a simple speed check will suffice. Still, you want to have more weight heelside for balance.

  • @7IceCloud7

i found a easy way haha i do it like i do 180 but i dont throw my shoulders

    thanks

  • Are 80a wheels (venom cannibals) good for speed checking will going dh? Possibly even 180 standies?

  • Do you want your trucks more loose or tight?

  • @AaronAMVs purely preference.... looser is usually better but less stable and requires more experience.

  • @SAYSHUN what if i have revenge alfa 2 trucks

  • @AaronAMVs meadiam

  • @AaronAMVs more loose

  • PLEASE ANSWER, what is a good hardness on the weels for sliding ?

  • @MrEzlon 81-84s are good. You can make anything slide but that will get you started.

  • @SAYSHUN if i were to buy one of your boards which one would be best for someone like me who likes to slide and freeride?

  • @EnjoiDacyn Check out the Polar, Compass, or the Addict for strictly freeride. Check out the Formula if you are also going to do a lot of downhill and the Crisis if you want more cruise/carve and do very little downhill. After that it is all baed on personal preference (and graphics : )

  • @MrEzlon any duro will slide, you will get more benifet by looking at the wheels shape, a rounded lip will slide smoother and easier, a square lip will tend to grab more. Check out cult classics, BEST slide wheel imo. im sure other people will agree.

  • *thank u for the video

  • Yes thank u

  • I have the Sayshun Addict

Is it a good board for sliding?

    THX

  • @ricium The Addict is a fantastic board for sliding!

  • Sevenfootpelican hes not that good. I can even do better than that. Check out ryan vanderveen or kyle chin

  • I am having trouble holding at 90 and whipping the board back to regular stance, any tips?

  • Dude, I could watch you carve and speed check all day... so much style.. so much steez <3

I'm not gonna lie, though. When I first saw you on the video (before you stepped on the board) I thought you were some good for nothing kook who had no idea what he was talking about.

This video is very informative and very inspiring, too. Thanks for uploading.

  • What wheels do you use?

  • every time he talks the wind blows!

  • iHELP! whenever i try these checks i always overslide into a 180 i can never keep it at 90 how do i fix this?

  • Is that a G&S FibreFlex in the first image?

  • I have a Fibretec fat'n'flat 960mm longboard (a downhill deck for beginners) with 150mm trucks and 75a wheels. Is it possible to do that sliding method with the board or do I need other components?

  • is it possible to do that on a short cruiser board?

  • @852639 it is but you should get a longboard!

  • "Do it gently because you don't want to kill yourself" HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @Johmeyful Just about to comment about that! You beat me by 5 hours. I thought i was the only one who caught that, but i almost choked laughing when he said it.

  • As soon as I watched this vid I grabbed my longboard and mastered speed checks in 10 mins. Thank you so much!!!!!!! =)

  • porn music :)

  • 2 people fell and gave up longboarding after they watched this video

  • teach me plz

  • What helped me learning to slide was loosening up my trucks. Just depends on the hill and speed.

  • THATS A FUCKING GOOD HILL TO PRACTICE ON!!!!!!!11111

  • hey, you said you dont know why throwing your arm out helps. its just like snowboarding - angular momentum conservation. simply put, if your lower body spins one way and your upper body the other way, overall you arent rotating. try jumping straight up and try to spin your legs, you end up spinning your torso the other way. then try jumping up while spinning your torso, you take off spinning and you can spin your whole body

    good tutorial though, cheers

  • like he said dont push to hard, be gentle. (i know dirty)

but i learned that the hard way today. didnt see it coming :)

  • What is your best freeride board? I want a board that locks my feet in for toesides and switch heelsides.

  • How hard are your wheels? they seem like 90 something cuz u slide out so easy

  • @freestyleskier132 They're 80a. He's just good.

  • what are some good wheels for sliding?

  • @weimer495 there are oranguatangs whcih come in dif. duro which is the hardness and the harder the better (thats what she said) go for the yellows or purple if your slidding less then cruzing or just look for wheels that say 83 or have a higher number with a A beside it because its going to help you slide

  • @weimer495 Cult Classics are the best slide wheels I've ever used. Any 78a or 81a Abec 11 wheel will also be great, along with the wheels in this video (Sayshun Plasmas) and tons of others.

  • best speed check video by far

  • Ok, I'm confused this is a heelside check? Your heels are pointing uphill and your toes down, when you slide out, is this not "a toe side" check??

  • @longboardlifer no because he carves on his heel to move into the speed check

  • this is possible on a pintail, right?

  • what wheels r those?

  • Will the speed check help you slow down or make you bail if you're going over 30 mp/h? (please reply)

    Nice video by the way.

  • @ThaNooob You can standup speed check at 30mph if you practice.

    /watch?v=Na-Dl9xvQX8

  • What would be the best sayshun board for downhill and freeriding (freeriding mostly) thats not the polar? is the rogue good?

  • @MaxiMooMa The rogue is great, just not unidirectional like the polar. You need a couple of "must haves" for a good freeriding board but it also comes down to personal preference, fit and feel. This means you have to go to your local shop and stand a couple different boards. Specifically check out the Formula, Polar, Compass, Rogue, Mania, and Crisis.

  • what r good wheels for speed checks?

  • where did ypu get your gloves?

  • hey man i use a z flex with drifter wheels..is it harder with a zflex?

  • Hi could anyone PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION ALRIGHT? SO I HAVE A LONGBOARD SECTOR 9 BAMBOO and it's pretty heavy now i wonder does this effect my slides?

  • @tipibongolio it sorta cancels out on how it affects your slide, when you say that it's very heavy, do u mean like just the deck or the whole complete setup. if its the complete set up thats heavy depending on what trucks u have then being heavier and having longer trucks will help you slide longer but may b a bit harder 2 pull back, plus you need the right type of wheels for sliding. if its just the deck that is heavy it may affect your slide depending on your weight but shudnt matter too much

  • i always see this trick and i love it am not a longboarder but am a skatenoarder do you think this will work on a skateboard ?

  • @lilrabbit97 it will work on a normal skateboard the wheels although are hard wich is VERRY good for sliding long distances but normal skateboard trucks can buck you off so be careful. all in all it should work, i been practicing this for about a week on hesher snowball wheels (longboard wheels) so once i get it down ill switch the wheels to normal skateboard wheels and tell u how it is, u shud prctice on it too

  • @irucabridge thanks ill try to do it

  • I started learning these straight away! you said that you should be comfortable doing 180s before doing this haha i still cant do 180s riding switch scares me! oh and the arm winding thing. its the same as snowboarding it turns your shoulder which turns your torso and changes your weight distribution! haha

  • I started learning these straight away! you said that you should be comfortable doing 180s before doing this haha i still cant do 180s riding switch scares me!

  • "do it gently cause you dont want to kill yourself".

    LOL BEST LINE.

  • what board do you have????

  • COAST LONGBOARDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good vid, VERY poor music.

  • what duro are your wheels?

  • at 2:41 is that a go-pro camera on your helmet?

  • what percentage of your weight do you have on your front foot on these?

  • Way too many people comment on these videos blaming their wheels

  • Great vid i have a loaded dervish and i just cant slide it it;s only 2 days old so wheeles might be too hard??? Plze help!

  • @quickskopznz no man,,... u wwant hard wheels for sliding

  • great vid, but I swear I heard this song in a porno :]

  • @ThatFilthyChoch Because riding a longboard beautifully is as arousing as any porno and deserves the soft sensual music?

  • @ScreaminGreenMachine

    Well played sir, well played.

  • @ThatFilthyChoch : hahaha, me too, but it was more a soft porno ;)

  • @ThatFilthyChoch The song is by Bonobo, off the Animal Magic album, but I am pretty sure that this movie was in the 2005 Tiger Woods Golf game for PS2 and Xbox, and I think it was either the pro-shop or stat management screen in that game.

  • Do it gently though, cuz you dont want to kill yourself...

  • what derometer are your wheels?

  • *do it gently though u dont wanna kill urself..lmao!!

  • K i don't know how to slide at all but i want to learn how to speed check. i have a flex 5 vanguard with very loose paris trucks and purple otang inheats. the wheels are not very worn in yet. is my setup good for sliding?? !PLZ RESPOND!

  • @MrChaoLover I can only answer for the wheels, inheats r not designed for sliding. They are deigned for carving n downhill so go get some yellow durians, they r perfect

  • @KatzeFTW k thx

  • @MrChaoLover i'd get stimulus, but you can definitely wear purple o tangs in, they become great for slides. i learnt with lime bigzigs which are similar but even softer. just carve harder and harder and eventually you'll start sliding, weight on the front foot! and tighten the trucks up a bit, you wanna be able to push the board around rather than turn

  • im wondering is it possible or extremly hard to do Stand up 180 slides on krytonics classic 78a ??? i know they suck im getting Stimuls otangs

  • The wind is raping my speakers....

  • how much are slide gloves

  • @monkeyface3333 landyachtz slide gloves are like 35-40 bucks

  • what wheels do you recommend

  • @akghillie i realllyyyy like the orangatang yellow series there 86a i have the stimulus but any of th eyellows r great... another great wheel is the ebec 11s i also have them on my switch

  • Very well explained. I'm struggling with this check but this helped a lot, thanks.

  • if i have a sector sand wedge what is a good wheel to slide with?

  • hey i was wondering does it matter what kind of surface you ride on? like is it easier to slide on a smother surface or does it make a diference because the roads in my neighbourhood are kinda rough

  • @DefaultUserName063

yeah smoother surface is going to be easier to slide on... you can get harder wheels, 83a or 86a o'tangs are good. zombie hawgs from LY are good too, since they have a smaller contact patch.... and just try going faster when you slide

  • i cant slide i was wondering if its my wheels or the fact that im not practicing on a hill

  • @skateis4life you will need speed or a hill. Also get yourself a helmet and slide gloves - this is critical when learning to do any kind of slides. Some wheels are definitely better for sliding than others and there are many things you can tune on your board to make it better for sliding but the best advice is to take what you have and just commit. *Wear protective gear*

  • @SAYSHUN go for a higher duro if it does turn out to be the wheels.

  • @skateis4life what wheels you got bitch?

  • god you make it look so smooth and easy, first time I did a check I bucked myself forward

  • krackedboard?

  • How loose are your trucks?

  • dude there is a problem to do speed checks if i have a big longboard, kind of smaller than dancer

  • @jamespage45110

yes, shorter wheelbases are easier to slide on. standup slides on a 48"+ board seems hard, but you can still slide with gloves on.

  • what sayshun board is that?

  • @MAB928 looks like a Polar

  • Wow, 5 stars for the detail and the way you said it!

I'm off out to try this now. Thanks for posting this!

  • are you on a polar?

  • I like that board! Looks pretty nice when it comes to freeriding in general. What's the model?

  • @ExtraGravyProduction It's a comet FSM

  • this one trick tip video explains so much more than loadeds one

  • what do u use to edit?

  • good old imovie

  • thats whats up!

  • what kind of wheels are u using? mine are to grippy

  • plasmas!

  • it is really impossible to have wheels that are too grippy for standup speed checks. Honestly I can do them on 78A Kryto's.

  • try them on square lipped 75a nineballs

  • @scottfashe I'd really like to see you try it on Big80's then.

And Durometer really doesn't affect grip as much urethane characteristics.

  • @Chaantastic First of all, I posted this ages ago, and I do not know what I said but it was probably a novice manoeuvre. However, I do own a set of big 80' and I have done a stand up on them (Mega Chatter).

    Peace

  • @scottfashe That's mighty impressive, I must say.

  • @Chaantastic I wont say it was smooth, I wont say I did it at speed, but I stayed on the board and rolled away

  • @bigmike784 i recomend hesher snowballs, abec 11 strikers, and any other non rebound formula

  • i lurve speed checks lol
