If You Listen To The Original Recording Of The Record #1. The Track Is More upbeat, the Live Performance on this is slower. #2. at 5:14 after "Such a reaction" (the background didn't repeat it) in the original record it did. etc. and then of course of the obvious she's doing more runs and high notes she didn't do in the original. and on the episodes where the artist lipsync's they are performing with non working microphones smh. or they're turned off
Don seems a little touchy feely with Patti. It's kind of creepy lol. Somehow when she says "I'm scared of you Don" she looks like she really means it lol. Yea Patti's not one for lip syncing because recordings never do her justice. Whenever she's live, she never sings a song the same as recorded.
Here's something I've never seen before: someone actually singing live on "the show." Only the incomprable Ms. Labelle could pull this off and made it sound just like the record. Divine.
@madam man there were alot of LIVE soul train performances like d nice, ALOT of the isely brother and the o jays guy did a live one the AWB did one live i can go on and on thats why other than midnight special this is hands down the best music tv show that really showcase the artist says uzipolo king of decatur
Please delete my comment i marked as spam. It's a habit of mine. That i mention the show. I have to break it pronto. So i'm begging y'all please eliminate the comment of mine. I'm not going to say that no more. Because i love this show so much and it's bring back memories for me. So do me a favor and delete my comment
But she did'nt lip synch the episode she did solo (except for one song by J Blackfoot) on season 13 (she tore "If Only You Knew" into little pieces). I got the footage to prove it on youtube.
The best live entertainers don't do so great with lip synching. I've seen James Brown, Aretha, and Patti do it and they aren't that good at it because they are use to just performing in a raw state... i guees :/
Hey is that Michael Bolton on the keyboards? lol

Correct me if I'm wrong, but she lip synched on a 1984 episode on a duet with Bobby Womack on season 13. Nickfresh!?
Azone01 4 years ago
actually i think you are right Azone, i stand corrected on that, i believe she did lip synch with that bobby womack duet in 1984.
