Which he did not. War is not only physical, it is psychological and economic AND by stealth. Jews started this war when they immigrated and started taking over Germany by civil-stealth (living normal lives in a foreign country but slowly gaining power and control over that country). They then upped the war to economic sanctions and boycott of German goods, that as sure as anything causes deaths etc. It is war by other means. Germany retaliated.

SS would probably get more publicity. ever read book about hanna reitsch? thinking about getting one online.

@kerjaauto2 They were one of the very few units that made a breakthrough of the Soviet defenses at Kursk. Their performance there was nothing short of amazing despite it being a strategic defeat.

@cbiwv Yes but even in the Battle of the Bulge they performed extremely well time and time and again against many American units with many victories, however it was just due to larger American numbers, support (air etc.) and much greater supplies that they were able to push through

@SturmFMJ Another thing. Until recently I did not realize Hitler pulled a entire Army corps out of Stanlingrad because he felt the 6th Army alone could get it done. Imagine had he not committed that strategic error. That would have pretty much prevented the Russians from getting their supplies down through the Volga to the Ukraine.

@kerjaauto2 man, the defeat at Stalingrad was the fault of Paulus, he in the siege of the city, (a strategy used by the Germans always, in that prior to besiege the city surrounded the enemy troops on the outskirts of it, then annihilated to enemy forces and took the city without difficulty.) general Paulus was not trained, was a socialist known for his work and that I get to the command hierarchy occupied by another general who died of a heart attack (I think his name is Riggenau?). continue ->

According to most historians (Allies) the 6th army by the mere fact of being the best of Germany, for their outstanding performance, and according to many Paulus was given the order to protect the army, because Hitler did not wanted to commit to any other general, this important army ... And in that decición Paulus led them to total destruction.

So was General von Wietersheim,commander of XIV panzer Corps, followed by General von Schweler of IV Panzer Corps ( Rynok corrider incident ). These dismissals were, however , overshadowed by the departure (sacked) of CG Halder , C of Gen Staff at OKH...........all happened under Hitler's nose. Just to mention a few.

@kerjaauto2 ...It does not occupy the same strategy ,Paulus in the siege gave to the soldiers two days of rest, in that period the Bolsheviks were in the city and well we know what happened next ...The Battle of Stalingrad could have ended in late August, had it not been for the error of Paulus .. And that would have given more than 1 month of preparation for the Germans to counter the Soviet offensive was coming for the "Red October".

While the battle had been raging over the ruins of Stalingrad, dramatic events are taking place at Hitler's HQ.The Fuhrer , never very trustful to his generals, was looking for scapegoats. They were damn young in that photo - seem almost as some soldier-boys! Hard to believe they were able to scare the shit out of their enemies on the battlefront, but it was always like that throughout history - you build empires only with those who are young. Alot of these men changed their names and moved to the USA. Quite a few joined the American army and saw combat in Korea and Vietnam. It is said they had a amazing skill level and that they stood out among the other soldiers.

The Battle of Malmedy was fought by the US Airforce! They bombed Malmedy because a mistake, the thinking it was an other town (bad weather). They killed 200 US Soldiers and around 200 belgiens.
Call this "Battle of Malmedy" if you like...;)

My favorite Division as well,In this politically correct world that we live in I know what I am about to say will not go down well. If our military would opperate
in the same manner as the SS in the middle east at least the enemy would respect us and fear us! They would tell their soldiers to watch out for the US military, because now we were fighting at their level ! Our enemy only respects Might and ruthlessness! Thats why they perceive us as weak, and know we will give up our resolve.

@sturmbanfuhrerpena War does not always work that way. This is the approach the Soviets took especially the Spetsnaz. They killed 2 million Afghanistan people in the process. In ten years the Soviets lost around 40,000 soldiers but they do not release the official count but a friend from Russia clued me in, In ten years America has lost only 965 soldiers. We are doung something right. They hide in the mountains from our soldiers. That is called fear and respect.

@cbiwv That is called Partisan War. Around the World the Afghanistan and Iraq mission is portraied as a failure. And the amount of soldiers you lost means nothing; germany lost millions of men but there Wehrmacht is still looked upon as the best army of its time. The russians lost more soldiers then the Germans but the Red army was probabyl superior to the allied armies.

Also, you talk of how great the Waffen SS was do some research on how they avoided contact with the Russian naval infantry. They were terrified of them. Jippo it's not the American's fault everything is not fine and dandy in the Mid east. Did you know we constantly have to bail out the Germans in the Northern sector?
