Look im not hating on the makers of NFS but, they should listen to the audience. THE GAMERS! These past NFS games weren't bad, they just werent good! Im sure their apealing games to people who want to play a racing game on a track, but not to the percentage of the gamers who arent +50! Can't you guys make a game that's got free roam, customization and a decent story? Just take Midnight LA for example, a seccessfull racing game that's got decent story, customization out the wazoo! So far of the new NSF games I think I like Shift best. The helmet cam and movement was great. One thing that I have a hard time getting over in these NFS games is how the cars in certain modes feel like ... semi "on rails". It really shows in this video. I assume this is done for novice players so they don't end up in a ditch on the side of the road for most of the game. Think i am going to skip this one though.
also if i do say the last good nfs was mw and carbon after that it went to shit. i played hot pursuit and it just bored me hard. nfs has defianately balls up its now just burnout +9000 it doesnt feel like need for speed were you can do mad powerslides round bends with dyno tuning to squeeze every inch of power out. its just burnout now.

This game looks like Heavy Rain meets Need For Speed. I don't know how this combination is going to work yet, but hopefully it's better than the new Spiderman meets Mirror's Edge movie that is definitely going to suck.
@thefaulkness Well I sure as hell hope not, that would be shit wouldn't it? I liked the first two Spiderman movies, not the third so much, but I'm am a bit skeptical about that first person scene. Maybe they will tone it down a bit for the actual movie. @thefaulkness I know that, I watched Inception and liked it enough without the city flood scene in fact I bearly noticed it. However compare Chris Nolan's new Dark Knight Rises trailer with this crap that they are calling the new Spiderman. Batman vs. Bane + Catwoman > Spiderman rips off Twilight and Mirror's Edge. That's the difference, quality of the teaser not always what they remove. A good trailer such as Inception's does not always need the extra scenes because the whole trailer worked.

@Varekevin the first game to introduce customization was Need for Speed: High Stakes, of which you could customize the performance. then only 2 games latter did the game really kick off and get popular with nfs underground due to the large amount of customization and arcadey feel.
@Varekevin i agree 100% because im a need 4 speed veteran. i used to play need for speed 3 hot pursuit on the pc back when in came out in 98 and it's my all time favorite nfs game. i also played high stakes, porsche unleashed, and hot pursuit 2. the only nfs games i liked after that were underground and underground 2. most wanted was okay and everything else was complete garbage. this new nfs coming out most likely wont be that great either, but it wasn't like i was planning on buying it anyway.

I know the story already now, after 2 gameplay trailers. You're this guy who gets chased by gangsters and they chase you cause you owe them money and then you go to this race called 'The Run', which will give you enough money to pay them back.
the only thing that looks interesting about this game is the Frostbite 2 engine, which I'm already eager to try out in Battlefield 3. the rest looks boring, including the retarded title. if there's no customizing or tuning cars in this game it's really going to suck. NFS Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit are the best in the franchise imo.

@Varekevin i agree 100% because im a need 4 speed veteran. i used to play need for speed 3 hot pursuit on the pc back when in came out in 98 and it's my all time favorite nfs game. i also played high stakes, porsche unleashed, and hot pursuit 2. the only nfs games i liked after that were underground and underground 2. most wanted was okay and everything else was complete garbage. this new nfs coming out most likely wont be that great either, but it wasn't like i was planning on buying it anyway.

Good graphics and awesome sound! But I see that Nitro and lame driving is a big part of the game! Damaging each others cars and take strange short cuts! Flying your car over a hill and nothing happens to it when it lands... This game is way to arcady for me! An other failed Need For Speed if you ask me! It looked so promising at the beginning.

Wow.. no one enters the shortcut but the player, the cars just stay there running in perfect symmetry while the player is the only one moving and he just limits himself to pass them one by one. Really? This looks exactly like HP3.

the only thing that looks interesting about this game is the Frostbite 2 engine, which I'm already eager to try out in Battlefield 3. the rest looks boring, including the retarded title. if there's no customizing or tuning cars in this game it's really going to suck. NFS Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit are the best in the franchise imo.

@sonicblast19 graphics ar not that bad...i mean its in the middle of a desert your not going to have much color and with the sin beating down it makes everything seem whitewashed which it does in real life.....dont yes being on a FPS engine is very very stupid i liked the renderware engine to! but i would imagine other trailers will look getter with the graphics in say a city. and i do agree that underground 2 and mostwanted were very good games!

If the city at night looks like a city at night with shops closed lights off and just some street lights on then I presume that the new "high tech"engine would be useless.
So far NFS The Run is unimpressive average game with nothing inovative.
