@RobbyReluctance when assassin was goading saber onto the level surface of the steps he allowed his blade to be bent. Because it got bent, the technique was thrown off a bit and saber was able to detect an opening.

If his blade wasn't bent he would have been victorious.

Yeah, that would be "executive meddling"-induced "adaptation decay", all for the aim of fitting the storyline within a set number of episodes regardless of what it entails, even if it means cutting off essential (and often highly popular) parts.

@NeloAngelo559 Actually, it's explained in the visual novel that he only lost because his sword was bent after he deliberately blocked Saber instead of parrying like he did every time before, and thus the swinging speed was altered, which consequentially disrupted the proper flow of the technique, creating the miniscule opening that Saber instinctively capitalized on.

I don't care what the novels say to me assassin is kojiro. And he would have won if his blade didn't get bent and correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a samurai like him be in the saber class?

basically he would have, but if saber had excalibur she would of raped him from afar, but assassin is too weak to be a saber, but i think u might be able to summon him as a saber class if u tried

there certain class requirements, saber is considered one of the strongest classes, if u look at endurance and mana he got E ranked, some what decent strength at C, but his Agility A+ and Luck A is on crack, other then speed, sabers are more for front melee , kojiro is more meant for quick master killing, b/c outside of caster's bounded field, hes really weak. but my views are only opinions, u could be right,

Servants, maybe he'd win probably against the other Assassins. Sasaki Kojirou was slashing hundreds of times in the span of a few seconds though....in the visual novel. (And he's the weakest.)

saber was able to avoid it because she bent the katana ealier, so it left a blind spot in the attack she jumped throught and then countered.also it was because of a A+ ranked insticts, this was expanding upon in the visual novel

its not logic bending.. if you had read the original novel youd understand he bent his sword , to gauge hers , and she rushed the blind spot it left and as stated below her battle instincts and agility are off the charts. (In true saber form)

yea but it seems slightly unfair to me that she's just all round super powerful while other servants have certain high stats and low stats. i think it would be more fair of generally the servants were equal (equal amount of strengths and weaknesses)

Well don't think about it as in the main character winning, think about it as the story is showing the story of the character who happened to win.

Keep in mind that the anime explained and displayed maybe 15% of what the visual novel had.
