brilliant..totally..radio went down the pan courtesy of the government...i still wonder why through rock n roll and the merseybeat era the british authorities lost the plot...and then shut down the best ever radio stations...
Governments enjoy having control. This is not always a bad thing and works well in public health, for example = No Cholera. But for music, not so good....
I still hear LOTS of 'Pirate Radio' activity on 6.955 MHz (LSB and AM)! I receive on a Yaesu FT-450 transceiver, since it has 'DSP' technology, which helps cancel out interference and pull in weak signals! It's become a hobby of mine to listen and see what I can hear!
Laser 558 must've been the last ship transmissions I ever heard, early '80s. I never heard much of it. Surprised I heard it at all as I was well inland in Brum at that time.
What are Caroline doing mixing with likes of scumbag Sky!? Thats enough to make one want to go to Gozo!! Must 'google' Caroline, find out whats been going on?
An odd thing, Sky is illegal under the conditions of the Marine Etc. Offences Act (Satellite broadcasting came under 'etc.'), Edward Short said if anyone tried it they would be "Blasted out of the sky".
So when the Tories introduced licenced commercial radio broadcasting in the early 70's, it's still illegal if the Marine Offences Act wasn't repealed!? lol
"They must have forgotten." Maybe, but wh@ does it m@ter to them anyway?
Companies can do pretty much wh@ they like now, for all the good the different 'OFFPOTS' do! Money talks, people are silenced.
