im going trough the same shit, being kicked out of groups and failing at every simple task. Now I have just given up my education and have not left the house for two weeks, just doing drugs and eating junk food. hang in there
it sucks when ur forced to work in groups and with the mean people and those presentations are like a curse when the teacher makes you talk like that. not everyone is made to talk i n front of class, its so unfair for the unsocial people like me
I feel the same way about letting a group down. I don't have a fear of public speaking (obviously, since I'm pursuing a teaching degree), however, anxiety does tend to kick my back side on a regular basis. I'm the type of person that if I was in your group, would try to make it as easy as possible for you. The only thing I can think is maybe putting yourself in "law enforcement mode". Pretend you just pulled the class over, and explain to them why they are getting the ticket. Wish you the best!
That's the thing about my SA. That's almost the only place it really bothers me. Other things can cause it kick in, but it's nothing like when I have to present something. I'm hoping it'll at least go like last semester when I had to do a presentation at the end of the semester where the only thing was that I stumbled over a word or two and nothing particularly noticeable happened and I was relatively calm considering I have SA. But I'll try to get my law enforcement mode to kick in lol.
... are you depending on someone else to do the speaking part of the presentation ? Trust me, if someone was going to tell me how this is so worth getting a good grade - I'd practice in front of the camera... in case, that person flakes at the last minute.
Every member of each group has to present something, so fortunately the grade isn't depending on any one person. Instead the teacher said that she's going to take how well each person did in the group and average it together for everyone for one grade. But I'm definitely going to be practicing it as much as I can.
But I know exactly how you must feel and really hope you'll be somewhat calm while doing it. Is it on the very last day of class? If it is, this is probably kinda lame advice, but something that might help is to think that no matter how bad you do, you won't see any of those people for a whole 4 months.
You're in the exact same boat as I was last semester, the dreaded group presentations. Luckily though, the teacher decided to give us more time on the projects and had us simply turn them in. She asked each of us in the groups about the information we researched on the day we turned them in, so that was the "presentation", but it wasn't like we had to get up in front of the class so it was alot easier. That was brave that you told your group you have SA. I couldn't have done it.
Tell me about it. I'll be glad to have all of this behind me. Fortunately I'm planning on graduating in December, so I'm hoping that this will be the final presentation that I'll have to give in school.
I feel you man I'm struggling daily with these issues thank you for sharing it helps!

That's the main reason why I'm glad I'm not in school.
