Without knowing what went on prior to the shooting, we can't make any assumptions, but going on the video alone, I would say Self Defense, the "supposed murder" victim comes running out the SUV at the other guy who then promptly shoots him, then he promptly runs into the PD (presumably to get help and acknowledge what he had done) with obvious look of shock and horror on his face, and is promptly arrested.

Clearly his objective was to deter the situation by going to the PD, but that didn't work. Losing your life or limb because a criminal has it out for you is the wrong path. Its a clear case of road rage and they had been at it for some time before they came into view and in my state its murder, the man had NO weapons at all the man got out of his car with the gun ready, he had the intent to kill the other man! verdict MURDER but he is free and will pay in the end when he goes home to his maker.

If the attacker had a knife I could understand the argument. Odds are the man would have not been seriously injured or killed. I love how it takes 4 or 5 officers to arrest someone who is clearly not resisting arrest. If this was their first confrontation I would say the shooter went a little too far. But if he was in legit danger he is so allowed to shoot him and if the result is death then so be it. @BigSpurge Pulling a gun is always a last resort, but we don't know what happened before the video footage. Being a CCW holder, the last thing I want to do is fire my weapon but in this case where it looks like the guy in the sedan is scared for his life I think it was an acceptable response. It is a very fine line between defense and murder when firearms are involved.

If he was running scared for his life and was licensed to carry his weapon, it looks to me that it was self-defence. The man was clearly parking when the other jumped out and approached him. It looks as though he was driving to the police station for help. He ran inside to tell them of his actions (in the parking lot),instead of fleeing the scene. I hope while considering the truth behind what we can not see and what was caught on camera, they would determine his intent. He really used his head!

Having searched the web for the background on this sordid affair I can find nothing wrong with Waller's not guilty verdict OR the cops/prosecution handling of the incident. The court & jury was the right place to decide the merits of the prosecution/defence cases. In my state the victim is required to retreat unless in one's own home. The victim in this case fulfilled that requirement by driving to the police station. From the security footage anyone can see he was being pursued and the driver of the SUV was the aggressor. The driver of the SUV may very well have been armed and the passenger removed the weapon after the shooting, or the driver of the SUV was armed during the events before the individuals were caught on camera. Self defense.

Self deffence, the jury was right in this verdict, once you are being pursued and approached in a threatening manner, your normal insincts is self preservation by any means necessary, and when your life is threatened, you can't afford to judge how threatening the attacker is going to be, so you can respond with reasonable force. Why? well if my life was threatened, any defensive reaction to me is reasonable force.

Without knowing what went on prior to the shooting, we can't make any assumptions, but going on the video alone, I would say Self Defense, the "supposed murder" victim comes running out the SUV at the other guy who then promptly shoots him, then he promptly runs into the PD (presumably to get help and acknowledge what he had done) with obvious look of shock and horror on his face, and is promptly arrested.

Clearly his objective was to deter the situation by going to the PD, but that didn't work. Losing your life or limb because a criminal has it out for you is the wrong path. Its murder. The attacker had no weapon in hand when approaching the suspect nor did he use his vehicle as one in this video. The suspect did not use equal force to defend himself. As far as the attacker threatening the suspect, those are only words. It is still not equal force to use a gun. And as far as the Florida law involving being allowed to use lethal force against someone who verbally threatens your life, thats a pathetic law. I'm in full support of owning firearms but this is excessive.

@lukew2100 How do you figure that - the shooter is being chased in his car, so he drives to the police station, attacker chases him to the police station and rams shooters car, attacker then jumps out and charges the shooter at high speed. It is very easy to conclude that the shooter acted in self defense and was in fear of losing his life, which is the legal criteria for a clean shooting.

Being a CCW holder, the last thing I want to do is fire my weapon but in this case where it looks like the guy in the sedan is scared for his life I think it was an acceptable response. If he was running scared for his life and was licensed to carry his weapon, it looks to me that it was self-defence. The man was clearly parking when the other jumped out and approached him. It looks as though he was driving to the police station for help. He ran inside to tell them of his actions (in the parking lot),instead of fleeing the scene. In my state the victim is required to retreat unless in one's own home. The victim in this case fulfilled that requirement by driving to the police station. From the security footage anyone can see he was being pursued and the driver of the SUV was the aggressor. The driver of the SUV may very well have been armed and the passenger removed the weapon after the shooting, or the driver of the SUV was armed during the events before the individuals were caught on camera. Self defense.

Self deffence, the jury was right in this verdict, once you are being pursued and approached in a threatening manner, your normal insincts is self preservation by any means necessary, and when your life is threatened, you can't afford to judge how threatening the attacker is going to be, so you can respond with reasonable force. i heard about this case it was all over a cheating slut whore the husband found out she was fucking the guy so he got in his car and chased him down it's truly sad that in this day and age man are still dying over worthless hoes who will continue to be hoes short after you're buried love your self if your girl/wife is cheating do your self a favor and just leave her with her bags nicely packed up out side of your door and give her a one way ticket to get the fuck out my life's resort

I'll give you a hint; it doesn't fucking matter if that guy was armed. There is no excessive force if a man is sprinting at you in a rage. It is not hard to kill someone, and you can do it easily with your bare hands.
All it takes is the will do harm to do so, and this guy clearly had it. I give this guy props for having the balls to pull the trigger without worrying about stupid people judging him for it.

@CowLunch --- Yes, the woman in the white car was there the whole time. She said she put her head down and prayed as the shoots were fired. She didn't get far, the police stopped here just off screen.
