so far in all circuit races the z06 is slower. muscle cars are great for drag. the z06 is good at corners. the challenger is not. muscle cars wont compare.

it will be interesting to see what the potential of the v6 is compared to the historical inline 6 traditional RB motor. I kind of wish they would have worked more with that advancement as the IL-6 is a perfectly balanced motor and response is epic. Can't wait to drive one of these and see how it compares to the R34
Actually this VR series motor (VR38VETT) is superior to the RB I6 series. The VR technology comes directly from Nissan's LeMans days with the R90 from the IMSA days, also known as GTP class here in america or the Group C races of Europe.
The RB series was great, for 80's/90's tech.. But, the VQ and VR series engines are lightyears ahead of the older RB's in terms of cylinder head and valvetrain efficiency. The block is much more rigid, and features bed-plate technology. Die casting versus sand casting.. The new V6 engines from Nissan are badass!
GTR has the ATESSA-ETS.. technically it's AWD, but it splits more torque to the wheel that is losing the most traction. Could be one or two wheels, or all of them.

im from aus too and i can tell you that this does have an awd system but the on board computer sends most of its power to the rear wheels, only a small amount is sent to the front wheels.

im from the u.s and I love the z06. I have 3 generations that worked for gm. But the prob is that the zo6 needs sum serious work on it to compete with the gtr. It also need either another sporty car or lower the zo6's price imo. (i love tea)

There is a waiting list in the U.S. and Europe. Actually the price is going up. Both of these cars pack a lot of performance for their price. If the GTR were sleaker looking, they'd sell more of them. Not the prettiest car. I prefer coffee.
What you say is not actually completely true, if you want a Z06 in U.S. there is no waiting list, at least where I live. As a matter of fact the dealership 10 minutes from my house has 5 08 Z06's. Plus the Z06 is much slower, more expensive and handles nothing like GTR. Nissan won't have a problem selling the GTR either as there is a waiting list of 2000 already in the UK and there only gettin 300 a year, do the math. Not sure if there is a waiting list here in the U.S. though
I should have made myself clear. If you want particular features on the car, ie., color, interior, wheels, options. My nearest dealer had no Z06's. One 40 miles away had one black Z06. Plus, when the GTR gets here it won't sell for anything near $70K. Then it will get our emissions. By that time, you have no idea how it will perform against a Z06 or ZR1. THe Ultima is From Lee Noble of the UK, its chassis was a test bed for the BMWV12 fro the McLaren F1 its old as the hills. I have seen 3 S7's 2 of them broke down on start up, but yeah the Mosler is a good track car. Sorry but the US do only make straight line beasts. except Z06

No I haven't driven it. It would be awsome to though. I just watched edmunds video on the GTR they tested. It's true that it doesn't do great over 110 mph. Hell thats as far as it goes. It just don't want all the idiots buying the GTR when it comes to the states and putting it on lauch mode when ever they come to a stop sign. They won't be able to control it's super quick acceleration and reck the car.

all performace cars are tested on the track and your more hp and more torque mentallity makes sense in a straight line (not accounting for traction and gears) when you add curves thats a diffrent story I wouldent mind either but would take the gt-r because its more unique I see corvettes all the time and unless the zr1 looks entirely diffrent it would just be one more

Nissans are reliable grocery store cars. Not performance cars, unless you mod the crap out of them. GTR on street tires did a 7:50 at N'Ring which is good, but many cars have done better. And as for Nissan's claims of 3.5 0-60, where is the proof? You GTR lovers need to take a step back and wait for the production car to arrive and have independent testing. Then we'll see true results.
Actually the GTR did a 7:38.08 at Nurburgring the Porsche GT2 did a 7:46 on the same track. Edmunds did a production car test in Japan on a customers car and the 0-60 was 3.3 seconds and the quarters was 11.6. Get your facts straight before you start typing stuff you don't know. do research first.
the GTR has got a deep racing history that you are obviously ignorant about . we dont even have talk about the current R35 GTR and the Nur-Ring... we can even go back to the R33 GTR and the Nur-Ring where i believe it broke the 8 min mark before any other mass production car. Porsche couldnt .. Ferrari couldnt ... and many many others that tried didnt ... but the R33 did ... mind this ... it was a stock production R33 ... not a heavily modded one

I watched it and again, it displayed no times. Very unofficial. Some reliable source needs to run this car 0-60, 1/4 mile, track times, bone stock. Road and Track did a virtual test and got a 3.9 0-60, 12.3 1/4 mile at 116. Even Edmunds said in that video that the Viper outpertforms the GTR in the slaloms.

Beautiful car. However, I think I'll stick with the 997tt. Moton suspension, dymag's, composite breaks.. a lil weight reduction here and there and call it a day.

it will be interesting to see what the potential of the v6 is compared to the historical inline 6 traditional RB motor. I kind of wish they would have worked more with that advancement as the IL-6 is a perfectly balanced motor and response is epic. Can't wait to drive one of these and see how it compares to the R34

Actually this VR series motor (VR38VETT) is superior to the RB I6 series. The VR technology comes directly from Nissan's LeMans days with the R90 from the IMSA days, also known as GTP class here in america or the Group C races of Europe.

The RB series was great, for 80's/90's tech.. But, the VQ and VR series engines are lightyears ahead of the older RB's in terms of cylinder head and valvetrain efficiency. The block is much more rigid, and features bed-plate technology. Die casting versus sand casting.. The new V6 engines from Nissan are badass!

GTR has the ATESSA-ETS.. technically it's AWD, but it splits more torque to the wheel that is losing the most traction. Could be one or two wheels, or all of them.

im from aus too and i can tell you that this does have an awd system but the on board computer sends most of its power to the rear wheels, only a small amount is sent to the front wheels.

im from the u.s and I love the z06. I have 3 generations that worked for gm. But the prob is that the zo6 needs sum serious work on it to compete with the gtr. It also need either another sporty car or lower the zo6's price imo. (i love tea)

There is a waiting list in the U.S. and Europe. Actually the price is going up. Both of these cars pack a lot of performance for their price. If the GTR were sleaker looking, they'd sell more of them. Not the prettiest car. I prefer coffee.

What you say is not actually completely true, if you want a Z06 in U.S. there is no waiting list, at least where I live. As a matter of fact the dealership 10 minutes from my house has 5 08 Z06's. Plus the Z06 is much slower, more expensive and handles nothing like GTR. Nissan won't have a problem selling the GTR either as there is a waiting list of 2000 already in the UK and there only gettin 300 a year, do the math. Not sure if there is a waiting list here in the U.S. though

I should have made myself clear. If you want particular features on the car, ie., color, interior, wheels, options. My nearest dealer had no Z06's. One 40 miles away had one black Z06. Plus, when the GTR gets here it won't sell for anything near $70K. Then it will get our emissions. By that time, you have no idea how it will perform against a Z06 or ZR1. Some of what you said is right on.

THe Ultima is From Lee Noble of the UK, its chassis was a test bed for the BMWV12 fro the McLaren F1 its old as the hills. I have seen 3 S7's 2 of them broke down on start up, but yeah the Mosler is a good track car. Sorry but the US do only make straight line beasts. except Z06

No not deep down, on the surface, I think the GT-R is a great performance car. I never said it wasn't. Look at GT-R vids here and you will see I've been saying it's a great car for a long time. All I've asked for is official proof. And that's when I get shit from ricers here and elsewhere. I definately don't like the look of the car. And if you are a true fan you should know by now that after 110MPH this car faulters compared to others.

From results and tests from the latest car mags. I trust what they're saying. Check out the latest issues. The car is geared to do great from 0-110. AFter that, they say it doesn't compete. This is their result. Not my opinion. As I said. I havn't driven it. Have you?

No I haven't driven it. It would be awsome to though. I just watched edmunds video on the GTR they tested. It's true that it doesn't do great over 110 mph. Hell thats as far as it goes. It just don't want all the idiots buying the GTR when it comes to the states and putting it on lauch mode when ever they come to a stop sign. They won't be able to control it's super quick acceleration and reck the car.

all performace cars are tested on the track and your more hp and more torque mentallity makes sense in a straight line (not accounting for traction and gears) when you add curves thats a diffrent story I wouldent mind either but would take the gt-r because its more unique I see corvettes all the time and unless the zr1 looks entirely diffrent it would just be one more

Nissans are reliable grocery store cars. Not performance cars, unless you mod the crap out of them. GTR on street tires did a 7:50 at N'Ring which is good, but many cars have done better. And as for Nissan's claims of 3.5 0-60, where is the proof? You GTR lovers need to take a step back and wait for the production car to arrive and have independent testing. Then we'll see true results.

Actually the GTR did a 7:38.08 at Nurburgring the Porsche GT2 did a 7:46 on the same track. Edmunds did a production car test in Japan on a customers car and the 0-60 was 3.3 seconds and the quarters was 11.6. Get your facts straight before you start typing stuff you don't know. do research first.

the GTR has got a deep racing history that you are obviously ignorant about . we dont even have talk about the current R35 GTR and the Nur-Ring... we can even go back to the R33 GTR and the Nur-Ring where i believe it broke the 8 min mark before any other mass production car. Porsche couldnt .. Ferrari couldnt ... and many many others that tried didnt ... but the R33 did ... mind this ... it was a stock production R33 ... not a heavily modded one

I watched it and again, it displayed no times. Very unofficial. Some reliable source needs to run this car 0-60, 1/4 mile, track times, bone stock. Road and Track did a virtual test and got a 3.9 0-60, 12.3 1/4 mile at 116. Even Edmunds said in that video that the Viper outpertforms the GTR in the slaloms.
