Agree awesome, can't stop watching it and just shows you don't have to play guitar at a million miles an hour to sound fantastic, I would much prefer to hear this sort of stuff every time
First off, I think I've watched all of your videos and I love all of them! You're a master. haha. Good job. Also, you are the best salesman on YouTube, I hope you're sponsored!
Okay, now my question, what year is your AC4? Is it vintage hunt or just a lucky buy?
@LioraBand Thanks for your comments. I'm not sponsored :) Just sharing what I find. I bought this little AC4 new in Dec 2009 so it isn't vintage. But I love it's tone for home use...
@LioraBand u2john316 is an incredible talent, as for the Vox AC4, remember that what a microphone hears is not necessarily what your ears hear, this is why musicians use different types of mics to find/shape the sound they are looking for, but this a good representation of what the amp can do, I have one and love it
Great video!!! Is this the six or ten inch speaker version? Also, what are you using for backing tracks? Great video man, you nail the sound right on the head...I wish this song could have been more popular; it is possibly the best on Rattle and Hum...some of U2's finest moments. I really love the Edges sound during this era. Keep em comin!!
once again, loving the beautiful tone in such a simple set up. fantastic song choice too. I have to ask, which Vox is that? Is it the 6 inch speaker one or the 10 inch, your videos have inspired me to possibly go after one. Love these little Vox boxes!
What is the difference in a clapton strat and a reg. american strat ? I really do want to thank u for posting your vids. You have tought me so much about tone and sound. I am 33 and have played music my hole life and never has my sound been so good. I give the thanks to u.
@solostringbender28 Thanks for your comments. Though I'm merely copying Edge's tone and suggesting how to do it. As for the strat differences, the Clapton Strat here has Vintage Noisless Pickups which I found are better than "normal" stock Strat pups. Get more clear/clean sparkle sounds out of them and less hum/noise.
@u2john316 I could be wrong (I usually am), but doesn't the Clapton series strat have a 'boost' switch built into the volume dial? I could be waqy off - but I think a mate told me this years ago.....
@xavierf1979 yes it has a boost (not a switch) that is controlled by the bottom tone knob on the guitar. But it was set to 0 in this video so no boost was active here.
Ah, so is it confirmed that Edge used the memory man on this song? Sure seems like. Has the warm, warp tone to it. Great quack tone. Sounds so close to the original version. Great quack tone. This is one of my all time favorite U2 songs. Has lots of "heart." Fantastic work!
@U2GuitarTutorials Thanks Michael. It's not note perfect - my intro is slightly wrong and I did some ad-lib chords towards the end. But yeah I feel the DMM was a strong possibility for this song which incidentally started out during the UF recordings.
badass dude, very super cool ! ! !
