  • @700moby Emember that Dylan was quoted at the event the Mac was launched.

  • What a masterpiece!!! :) Loved it.

Even I write a different kind of motivational blog - lifesloop(dot)blogspot(dot)com

  • Apple/Mac is a lifestyle! Period! <3

  • Think Different

  • what song is this?

  • Ok, who is the woman at 0:33 ?

  • @DeepSpace8andahalf amelia earhart

  • I love how people can take a simple ad regardless of product, that is beautiful, stunning and a testament to the good and power of humanity, and CRAP all over it with personal insults and non-sense. Way to show how great humanity has become. Bravo.

  • This is the old apple, the new apple is "We Think For You!"

  • @dxtcmix what does this mean? please elaborate.

  • How many comunists are there.

  • think different

  • apple.......

  • I love that motto, "Think different", so short and simple, yet it means so much more. Wonderful job Apple! Bravo!

  • agree..

  • Nice.

  • Ahh so glad the add included Martha Graham, she deserves it.

  • I think this was narrated by the Joker long before he scarred his face and turned to a life of crime and madness. You can tell at 0:34 when he says, "because they change things." It's uncanny.

  • Richard Dreyfuss, I think.

  • Woah... there is a resemblance. Creepy :|

  • inspiring !

  • They forgot to put a picture of Ron Hubbard on this video even if who made it is a scientologist!

    Strange isn'it?

  • they forgot to saw us Nikola Tesla. He was much more important that Thomas Edison and he WAS thinking differently.

  • @darkheart220982 The world needs to learn more about TESLA!

  • i think its audrey hepburn at 0:32

  • who's the girl at 0:32 ?

  • Maria callas

  • thanks!

  • oh whatever man, just enjoy the video as food for thought.

I loved it, it doesn't bother me that it's an ad.

  • Let's use a lot of cultural icons from past and present, individuals that changed humanity forever and use their image to sell sell sell...

    ...think differently.

I usually respect Apple greatly, but when you start using Lennon, Einstein and MLK to sell a meaningless product, you're probably missing the meaning of life, respect and all that is sacred in this world.

  • What, the meaning of life isn't to sell product that affords you the ability to procreate and persue your passions? Oh thanks that clears things up then!

  • APPLE 4 EVER !

  • "The fanatical atheists are like slaves who are still feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle. They are creatures who - in their grudge against religion as the 'opium of the masses' - cannot hear the music of the spheres."

    Albert Einstein

  • and thats why real atheists should just shut the fuck up, and let things be.

    or, become agnostics. win/win.

  • this may be my fav ad of all time

  • Is Apple a member of WISE?

    Of course.

  • And no Apple is not a member of wise marcotai... if you notice, no wise companies are publicly traded now are they? Reason? Wise is a Scientology group and their "tech" doesn't work.

  • so what connection does this vid have with Apple ?

  • The connection is - apple changed the world of computing.

  • me la pelan :)

  • If it was created by a scientologist,L Ron Hubbards face would be up there, scientology is a cult and not a religion..

  • Everyone on here who is saying that this video was created by a follower of Scientology is clueless.

    Aka, mazack00

This video was created by Apple a few years back, but posted by this user.

Therefore, NOT created by the Church of Scientology, which shouldn't matter anyways.

  • what's the name of the song please? I really need this for my final school project. OMG i'm gonna fail!

  • ....."Because...People who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world...are the ones who do..."

  • Hey I believe in what this video is saying but i still wont believe in that scientology b/s , but yea people don't be fooled into believing this is what scientology is about , those fuckers are delusional

  • WARNING!

This user supports the Church of Scientology!

This YouTube user has shown support to the Church of Scientology by subscribing to, befriending, or favoriting videos of known Church of Scientology YouTube channels!

USERS BEWARE! There is a high probability that this poster's objectives are aligned with that of the Church of Scientology.

  • so what? asshole...

  • the Church of Scientology has proven to be a scamming for profit business. I approve of the religion but the current church is forcing people to give money for the faith! Supporting them is WRONG!

  • How about going and protesting like that outside Tom Cruise's house, douchebag.

  • I fight the organization and its supporters for supporting. what they do at home is their own bussiness so... I wouldnt do that. wtf

  • Fight the ones with influence.

  • I'll fight them where they're making their influence, like at the premiere of "Valkyrie"

A good example: I'll post comments on this user's videos in order to deter their scientology influence, but I won't go to their house and bother them. That's what scientologists do, and it's crossing the line.

  • The only problem with this video is that it has been created by a scientologist.

    .

  • beautiful ...absolutely Awe Inspiring ad !

  • I love this ad so much

it bright a tear to my eye

  • This has to be one of the most beautiful sentiments ever broadcast, let alone used as a piece of advertisement. It brings tears to my eyes every time I see and hear it. These people they refer to, are truly the ones who make the human race move forward.

  • Awesome.

  • An extraordinary advert - inspiring and true...

  • This video would be a great introduction welcome video for Mac OS VI!

  • All tirans and dictators, many of them crazy, changed the world as well...for instance, without wars and battles, our science and technology would be much more primitive than is today.

  • Best. Ad. Ever.

  • Does anyone know who does the voice for this commercial or what other commercials the speaker is in? It sounds so familiar.

  • Richard Dreyfuss

  • thank you

  • what is this fucking sheet

  • think about this for a second, maybe it's called think different instead of think differently because apple is trying to be different? round pegs in the square hole and all that.

  • Some of the grammar nazis here need to find more horrible things in the world to complain about.

  • cool video - be different - a mantra for the ages.

  • All the English majors should stop a moment and spy the forest for the trees. "Think differently" wouldn't be very different, would it? The slogan itself is genius therefore.

  • Yeah. The people criticizing need to take a course in advertising-esque rhetoric. ;)

  • advertising for life

  • actually the different in think different is not supposed to be an adverb. its think different. like think change or something like that. understand?

  • You do not need to write "I sometimes don't bother with them myself"; you are already stating that you do not bother with them; therefore, it is a redundancy.

Shall I suppose that you are a spoiled child just because you spelt a word incorrectly?

If you want to write bullocks about companies, please stop criticizing every single spelling error; it is not a spelling bee.

Por cierto, una frase que volteo la situacion de Apple!

PS: As you can see, English is not my mother tongue.

  • haha I'm sure it did! Go to hell!

  • It would be now a linux add ! Things change a lot with time !

  • It would be now a linux add ! Things change a lot with time !

  • I hope my video says it too!

  • amazing... i love it!!! ;D

    []'s

  • think different? good idea! I took Apple's advice and bought a Zune. :)

  • Well, maybe they have shaped the computing industry - but they are still more of a brand than their adversaries. So this advert is still contradictory in my opinion.

  • this is great video,, think diferent for this reason people buy ipods and things like that.....

  • ur rught go linux!

  • As much as I love my Ipod, this advert is kind of contradictory. Apple is a brand, it has classed itself as a brand more than Microsoft itself. Macs are not customisable like P.C's. You run the Mac OS on it. They also require different inputs, games, dvds, you name it. Since when is that revolutionary? It is Brand-Capitalism at its finest. And Mac are doing a superb job fooling millions of people with their advertisements.

    Just my two pence.

  • no.....they don't

  • For those who saythat Apple is a brand and it's all about capitalism and stuff, it isn't true. They can't just let everyone mess with their systems that way. They have a clear image of what they want to get out on the market, something that is created through pure passion and thought power, if everyone would customize them they wouldn't be the same anymore. It's the kind of energy people at Apple put into them that makes them different that way. And special. If you want customization - get a PC.

  • Apple isn't revolutionary? I disagree. Apple introduced the first stable computer with a GUI and a mouse. They totally revolutionized the digital music industry with an MP3 player that had a better UI than others. And mind you, I'm saying all this about Apple and I'm a PC user.

Give a little more respect to Apple. They deserve it. If you study the computer industry, you'll see that Apple has done more to change the industry than Microsoft has. Microsoft Windows was copied from Mac OS after all.

  • Actually, owning both a Mac and a PC I find it more useful to be able to manipulate OS X than to be able to choose my hardware. Windows is notoriously locked down as an OS, and, personally, i haven't had an issue with the hardware that Apple chooses to put in their devices. I prefer the power of UNIX for my customization, so I'd say for internal purposes, Macs are more customizable.

  • You suck

  • The greatest commercials ever

  • A commercial that isnt just mindless nonsense. great

  • i always liked owning a mac computer... but now i like it even more.

i think this is the best commercial i've ever seen.

thanks so much for posting it!

  • now this is an advert if I ever saw one

  • wow, i love it.. robert zimmerman all the way.

  • Who is this guy on 0:40?

  • Alfred Hitchcock.

  • Winston Churchil

  • That's Hitchcock, dude.

  • music! ditemi che musica è! per favore!

  • WOW! This is a commercial that is very true and awesome.

  • I love this ad. AMAZING!

  • Pretty

  • Beautiful

  • It speaks to me.

"It gives me great pleasure to see that stubborness of an incorrible nonconformist warmly acclaimed."~Albert Eistein

This commercial should be put back on the air forever.

  • to do so may even stimulate a degree of critical analysis of Al Gore's dogma too, but this would be heresy in the present climate... excuse the pun!

  • ah

    what a great ad

    makes you feel good inside

  • yay, let's all sit at our macbooks all day and change the world.

  • LMAO!

  • It doesn't matter if you're using Mac OS X or Windows XP,

    Vista or Linux,

    BSD or Solaris.

What matters is how you use it.

  • Very true.

  • i love this advert, it's so true!

  • Here's to all of the iPhone "misfits, crazy ones"! - Search Youtube video on using Think Different for all the third party apps that Apple is shutting out by locking their iPhone down to only Apple developers. A good watch. Thanks for thinking different Apple. Only this time it means hurting your developers.

  • this inspires me so much.. reminds me why i'm here and i just can't give up, even when everybody says i'm crazy.

  • No, its talking about how one company who everybody thought was crazy about making a better computer, an all in one mac (imac), 1,000 songs in your pocket (ipod), etc. People considered Steve Jobs crazy for in board meetings he always showed up in shorts and a t-shirt and barefooted while everybody else came in a suit, etc. You have to know Apple history to know what this poem says.

  • I know who he is, but how is Steve Ballmer relevant to this?

  • To every Apple fan viewing this, new iPods coming out today!!

    Go APPLE!!

  • While a lot people say the 1984 ad introducing the Macintosh is the best ad ever made, I think this is the best ad ever. I just get thrilled every time I see this one. If Apple would launch this ad campaign again they could start conquering the world of technology.

  • beautiful, macs are truly amazing machines that can make brilliant works of art, macs all the way

  • mac users really are something special....since the majority is windows us mac users all really do "think different"

  • Wow, I didn't know Einstein and Gandhi owned macs! I'm totally buying one!

  • well, wozniak was a genius of a kind. jobs is just a pretentious businessman. after apple (wozniak at the time) invented the home computer, they went down. ipods are okay, but why the hell are there so many, and why the hell to they cost so much? creatives have better sound quality.

  • Beautiful Video, simply stunning.

By the way, nice effort ubersum on taking the discussion off topic.

  • nah sorry, my first point was on topic, but i was using my second post to justify what i said about apple being s tad less glorious than it once was.

  • Fantastic advert, outstanding machines (and music players).

  • wow. there is some anger here.

  • Cringeworthy in the extreme.

  • i cried.

  • You're kidding right?

  • What I like about this is there is no mac/ pc tards commenting on here.

    well till now that is.

  • I wouldn't have included all the same people, though. Ted Turner? Not quite in the same league as Einstein. They could have been zooming out of a portrait of someone like Da Vinci or Mozart. Maria Callas was a bit weak as well. For opera singers I would have went with Leontyne Price who had a much harder upbringing. One of the 60s singers (Lennon or Dylan) could have been replaced by a Big Band era singer....like Benny Goodman who really brought "black" music into the mainstream.

  • Callas is the biggest icon of opera in the 20th century, the best one of all. It would be a mistake to choose another soprano - or even another opera singer.

  • Great moving commercial, though it does makes Einstein unfairly and unwittingly endorse a Mac.

The people are in the video are: Albert Einstein, Bob Dylan, Martin Luther King, Jr., Richard Branson, John Lennon, R. Buckminster Fuller, Thomas Edison, Muhammad Ali, Ted Turner, Maria Callas, Mahatma Gandhi, Amelia Earhart, Alfred Hitchcock, Martha Graham, Jim Henson (with Kermit the Frog), Frank Lloyd Wright and Picasso.

  • and a little girl at the end :P
