uh, I just counted... sorry, not much help, but there's really no trick to it.

dude ya there is you take the last ball you throw out of one hand and count how many times it goes up then multiply it by 4 then multiply it by 2 cuz of 2 hands thats what i do for all patterns!! thats my trick i fugured that out on my own and it kinda gets like close!

That way, you have to follow the ball all the way through the fountain, which can be confusing with a lot of balls an not-so-clean runs.

I prefer to start counting with the first ball that lands in one hand, and then just watch the hand as it catches the balls. And then multiply it by 2, obviously.

I counted 19 catches with the right hand, but since both the first throw and the last one are with that hand, it's not 38 catches, but 37.

So I guess 36 was close enough, anyway :)

Thank you very much! The record for 8 balls, I think, is 0ver 300 catches(1 minute plus), so I've got a long time to go before that. I turned 16 in june, thanks!

Wow Brian, it seems only days since you flashed 10! I guess I should get practicing those high numbers. I'm just 2 balls behind, maybe I can catch up! :P Or not. Very nice video indeed, the 8 ball run was awesomely long, and the 12 ball flash, well, I wasn't expecting you to do that just yet... I was waiting for it to turn up in a few weeks though. Congratulations on all your achievement, and I hope to be out juggled by you on some convention in the not so distant future.
