  • This song had so much meaning to me when I married a man from another culture and he was a true beast..he beat me to no end...but I use to get out of that pain singing this song.....Thank you Stevie

  • @aminad031105 I love this song too and really feel for you. Hope you are ok now. Be strong. I have been in a similar situation and it is just so awful. Don't know you, but feel like I do. xxx

  • After listening to Beauty and the Beast, I was walking on my lawn and found a porcelain angel in the grass. Beautiful pink shades, facing the blue, cloud filled sky.

It was Stevie, beautiful, yet grounded here with all of us. We are so lucky to have her, she is amazing.♡

  • Shes so fantastic. AND BLESS HER SHES COMPLETELY OFF GUTS!! hahah

  • Wow, the most talented singer of all time, this song is just pure lyrical and vocal heaven. Amazing Stevie Nicks!!

  • Wow this is the first time i heard this song and i had a mix of chills and tears. What can i say, Stevie Nicks will always be the Queen of Rock and this live performance is her at her best (:

    This song is pure perfection♥

  • Best live version of this beautiful song

  • Breathtakingly beautiful! Always have loved Stevie...and always will. This also has to be the best live version of the song I've ever heard - she always did have an uncanny ability to comletely mesmerize and enchant an audience - sublime.

  • And that person who you love, knows they should love you back, but they don't want to...so you wander your life waiting for someone else to come along..that person may never come along... so you live and wait and wait, in hope..

  • I can understand why she is crying, imagine waiting and wanting, someone who you love for so long..So yeah she is emotional. Stevie Is beautiful in heart on the inside

  • Brilliant song by one of the best female songwriters of our time. The song, as I have read from interviews with Stevie Nicks, is about her love relationship and her emotions with and for Lindsey Buckingham. Also a genius. it was a very sad love relationship for Stevie and she still loves him after all these years.

  • She sings and I get chills all over.

  • What a beautiful song. Stevie is mysterious and beautiful and evocative and these qualities resonate in this song. Well done.

  • @4:48 FTW!!!!!

  • HOW? how can anything be any better than this???????

  • Stevie was, is and always will be the most beautiful woman in that world. I think this song was one of her best - you can see the emotional quality in it. She's an amazing woman - may she have great day in the sun many days!

Stevie, you can still bowl over the 20-somethings that think they're "IT"

  • @crittercreek1969 I agree

  • whys she crying

  • She is brilliant! She holds the entire audience in the palm of her hands as she relates her inner self in her magnificent music and words!

  • I don't know why people focus on her drug habit. Many other artists were on drugs also, it was the 80's. Appreciate her music!!

  • fantastic

  • In memory of my husband, GOD rest His soul

  • How many times have I cried to this song...

  • The most beautifully, eloquently, divinely composed ballad of all time. I only wish I had been born sooner so I could have seen her sing it like this! The best BATB performances were from the WH tour imo.

  • At least I have the rose given to me by my Beast....

  • So many peeps miss the beauty of music when they allow negativity to blind them. Go Stevie I love you and I will never judge you hon.

  • heard 2005 Vegas,,,,,,,,,,,,awesome!!!!!

  • Who gives a flying you know what about the drugs and other crap???? My God, why is this society so shallow that we are all defined by our weakness! Those of you posting that have your own weaknessness, food or whatever it is, remember to be greatful you are not famous because THAT is what defines you! God Bless her for her strength to endure, what about that? Her song probably woudn't have been so good if it were not for her expieiences which we all have and cause us to grow! Get over it people!

  • This song has many facets - the beast is the addiction they all toiled with that ruined the band and the relationships in the band, and represents the beautiful and painful part of love, just a wonderfully tremendous song - she is the best song writer and I love her

  • no...

  • Will ye ever, stand by me again

  • You're not a stranger to me :) and you...........well you are really somthing to see..

  • stevie nicks is the best female singer of all time

  • love Stevie!.. seen her sing this as a second honcor,,, It was totally amazing!.. No dry eye in the house!... Such Beauty, le bete

  • I LOVE STEVIE NICKS

  • my beast is gone but never forgotten

  • I adore Stevie...she was really coked up on this performance--I knew the man who dusted her world---doesn't matter---this is the most soulful song she ever wrote.

  • pghbob555: You should have turned the "guy that dusted her world" in to the cops. The dude did her no favors. But yes...this is definitely one of her most soulful works.

  • I didn't know him until after the fact...he did time in federal prison and they raided his house with helicopters---Mexican Mafia---they both survived and lived to tell about it...that's what life's about.

  • @kcgirlgeek There is so much depth to the addict life that many do not understand, it is much more than that. It becomes codependent and sad, & codependcy kills so she was very wise to release herself from the situation as sad as it is. Uhlesss you have lived it you don't understand, adults are not forced to do things. Addiction is pleasure & pain. 2 addictis together are sadness X's 100. Listen to concrete blonde, earthlings do not understand, but I do and is why I love her so much.

  • @bringtheboyshome: man, I don't know what you're talking about, exactly, but I'm a recovering meth addict, so I know a thing or two about addiction. And I'm not even counting what I went through with coke in the 80s as PART of that. I'm 46 years old...been around the block a few times. I'm not sure what comment of mine you were replying to...I can't seem to find one, so I don't really know how to reply to your comment other than with what I just said.

  • @kcgirlgeek I hear your plight & have lived it "you read the story for me" she says. O.K. - the beast is addiction, AND the love when you live with another addict whcih DOUBLES the pain. That thing, that was so beautiful when it used to work, doesn't it become a beast when it doesn't work anymore? & when that thing devours you & you lover & you are both trapped, doesn't it make your love that much more intense, sweet and ghastly? Listen to Concrete Blonde(Joey). This song hits home MANY ways

  • she looks so beautiful here, espeacially singing this

  • amazing

  • i simply love this woman

  • My Aunt (& Uncle Eddie). xoxoxox

  • 5:55 to 6:05 "la bete... la bete..." - freakin' PERFECTION. This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.

  • Love kills the beast :)

  • the best there is

  • I first heard this in 1983 when the 'Wild Heart' album debuted and it remains a timeless classic. Nice to see so many versions of this great song sung by her up at youtube, but this live version is my favorite next to the album track.

  • Absolutely outstanding, sublime, perfect, immaculate and devine!!!!! Thanks!!

  • Does anyone know where I can get sheet music for this song?

  • Warner brothers did publish sheet music books for Stevie Nicks albums. It was written for guitar and piano. They also had great pictures.

  • This song always makes me cry!!! Stevie's AMAZING!!! I adore her...always have...always will...

  • Amazing!!!

  • this song reminds me of the very fisrt time i had sex....very emotional and intense, but left a lasting impression.

  • The beast cannot face love, as always

  • she is so amazing... this song explains so much, especial true love that has gone so wrong, to look at the beast as love! I guess love everyone everywhere everytime

  • she sings this song with so much heart

  • her beauty is in her song and all else is shot, nothing else matters. this is one of my favorite songs really really means alot to me.

  • Wow!! That was unbelievable! I love Stevie so much! :o)

  • What a gorgeous song.

  • Killing me softly with her song....There is no beauty without my beast....Just rip my heart out right now and throw it to the fucking dogs...'cause it doesn't get more gut wrenching...more beautiful, than this....

  • When she starts crying around the 'I've changed' part, about five minutes in, it really gets to me. I've never seen anyone perform with such passion and emotion as Stevie does, and so much so that the audience feels what she does too.

  • This is the best live version ever. It features Roy Britton, the original piano player from the East Street Band. Stevie is overly emotional too. This tour was the first time she sung it live. You will never hear another version so well done.

    Amazing!

  • I think the 2006 version with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra comes pretty close, but this is sheer magic.

  • I love her intro "you can not look upon the beast until you can look upon the beast with love..." she was crazy, but such a beautiful heart. :) I ♥ Stevie. :)

  • I've sent many a comment and yet it does not register.... when I search for lyrics, they neglect the "le belle", rather le bete!!

WHERE'S the real STEVIE? --who I think I know and love??, WOULD YOU DIE FROM GRIEVING, WHEN I LEAVE??? WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO CONNECT, " WE ARE THE SAME, I NEVER DOUBTED YOUR BEAUTY, WE ARE THE SAME," ***HAVE YOU REALLY CHANGED????""" ***Please respond..... 403.870.7188

  • She's right my ex is devastated cause i look at this person in distace instaed of what i really feel love..

  • The song that makes Stevie's near-limitless maudlin self-indulgence all worth it.

  • lol

  • David Rockefeller is as close to the beast as I can imagine, gotta love that prick. Saw Fleetwood Mac live in Wellington, New Zealand, she was just the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Enchanting.

  • Anyone know if this is the same concert as the 'Stand back with little Elaine" ??

  • yes it is-i had the vhs. if you search stevie nicks wild heart tour-90% of the show is on here. there isn't allot of footage of this tour-i think it was in maryland.

  • Thanks so much for your response!

Great tip - I'll certainly search.

    Thanks again :)

  • I can see so many things in this song. Where is my beast? Does he know I still care? Id give anything to stop him from dying of grief....

  • Andhow did Iknow grief was to come to him? Yet, he thinks of me s a "piece of shit" now...So much he doesnt know.

  • the synth player has some serious neck action. :)

one of my favorites of stevie's.

  • One correction is that Carolyn Brooks and Marilyn Martin did not sing on this recording. They did not join until later in the tour.

  • YES, this is the best LIVE version of this song. It features Roy Britton on piano (original from the album) and Stevie's voice is so good and her emotion is real. LOVE IT

  • I agree with you when you say this is the best live version.

    Love for ever steevie nix

  • One of her very best solo songs. Exquisite performance, vocal in top form. This could stand alongside any 20th century standard...better than anything Rogers and Hammerstein came up with, IMO. Where did she get that talent, esp between the years 1973-83???

  • PERFECTION!

  • This is a sooooo very beautiful song by Stevie!!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • I drove 8 hours in a severe thunder & lightning storm to see her live and I had a seat in the very back row of the outdoor theatre. Is that a true fan or what. I LOVE her.

  • wow

  • AWESOME!
