for those of you who are still having trouble with this song I have posted a lesson on how to play this song however it would not let me copy the link so you will have to check out my channel to find it.
@SuperTopa98 You mute with your fret hand. Just rest your fingers across the strings up by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd frets to mute them. Play around with the amount of pressure you use and which frets your at to get the sound you want.
@coolrock420 Thanks but I have to disagree on the tuning it's standard down a half step. Sure you could get away with it in Db too, I am just going by their official tab book. A few chords won't match perfect with the original with the Db. You can see in several of the live vids that he plays that very first chord with the normal Em fingering (using 2 fingers on the 2nd fret A & D with the open E string) if you know what I mean. He doesn't bar all three strings.
@DEATHDEVILGT Like I said above sure you can get away with it in drop Db in a live setting but if you are playing along with the cd version of the song as a backing track and want to match it perfectly it's Eb, so you can match those couple chords I mentioned in my other comment. Just saying that is how it is on the album version.
@jtodd900 ok first of all for both of you who are arguing the correct name for drop Db is C#, secondly its not in C# its in Eb. also in the beginning its not full chords you play the octaves
@TheCollisionofworlds Bottom line is it's the same tuning Db or C#. I have always called it Drop Db so that's what I am used to and is definitely more common. I see it as Db a lot more than C#. All of my tab books have it listed as Db for songs that call for that tuning. You can call it what you want but it's the same thing and everyone knows what you are talking about either way.
You are dmnd good, and I think gitar players are sexy. ;D I hope you keep it up so I can see more of your good skills. Oh btw I have the same gitar. :D
I have a PODxt Live pedal by Line6. I have heard a lot of good things about the Boss something...I think by Digitech. But the POD is all I have ever used and I love it.
dude i wish half the people did cover tabs like you most of the idiots dont even face the damn camera on behalf of the less experienced guitarists thank you
easy numbers stand for the fret number, x stands for mute/palmmute and the Eadgbe are the easiest part there the chords. / is slide up \ is slide down
I use a vox AC30, but you don't hear that in my vids cause I record from my pedal directly to the computer for a much better high quality sound. I use a PODxt Live pedal by Line6
hey, i have another question. Whats the best amp to get if u want clear, crisp sound, want to fill up lots of space, and is good for any kind of music?
If you go to your local music store, like a Guitat Center or some place like that, they will have a book section. Most well known bands have books out that have the tabs for their whole album. About $15 to $20 a book.
Thanks, practice every day and you will get there too. I have been playing about 2 years but was pretty good in a few months of everyday practice. Even if only 10 minutes a day.....
hey nice cover dude.. do u have those tabs written down to send to me i would really like to learn it and all the tabs i have found have been wrong and didnt sound right.. would be much appreciated if you could,, thanks...
That was the plan when I bought the Gibson, keep one in standard and one a half step down and to get a Schecter or something else to keep in drop C. Problem is I can't get used to the feel of the Gibson so I rarely ever play it and am going to sell it :(
1/2 step down from standard is how they play it and how it is recorded. You could play it in standard or drop D though. But to match the exact tone when playing along it is Eb.
it's not drop d, it's Eb. if it were drop D he wouldn't be doing chords like that, the whole guitar is tuned down half a step not just the first string
I got an Ibanez and I am burning to try this song out... Had to wait a week to get it tuned tough... Nice and thx for this trying it out right now ;) You know that 'Shaun Morgan' Is from South Africa??? I am a South African 2 and a Big fan of Seether!

how do you do that muting trick without palm muting? I wanna know how to do that.

Okay, Is Db just a half down from standard?
foreverfatal1 6 months ago
@foreverfatal1 All strings a half step down from standard is Eb.
Db is a half step down from drop D so tune the low E to D first then everything down a half step from there is Db.

jtodd900 2 years ago
you should keep your fender in Drop D
and your les paul in Drop C
and when it comes to standard tuning songs like this just change the fender to standard because its just 1 string difference right
