  • for those of you who are still having trouble with this song I have posted a lesson on how to play this song however it would not let me copy the link so you will have to check out my channel to find it.

  • how do you do that muting trick without palm muting? I wanna know how to do that.

  • @SuperTopa98 You mute with your fret hand. Just rest your fingers across the strings up by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd frets to mute them. Play around with the amount of pressure you use and which frets your at to get the sound you want.

  • @jtodd900 kk thanks, I was playing around with the song a lot more.

  • @SuperTopa98 you just lightly cover the strings sort of "barring" over them

  • Awesome job man

  • u should get a wah petal for the one part on the 5th fret, nice though, I love this song, I play it differently though..

  • is ur guitar silvertone caz i think we have the same 1 anywys thanks nice job

  • @XRIPREDXx Thanks, but mine is an American Fender

  • @XRIPREDXx Woot to Silvertone. Let the classics live!

  • Awesome video dude! Can't wait to learn more of your songs!

  • @rtrout513 Thanks, glad it helped!

  • Okay, Is Db just a half down from standard?

  • @foreverfatal1 All strings a half step down from standard is Eb.

Db is a half step down from drop D so tune the low E to D first then everything down a half step from there is Db.

  • dude fucking perfect thanks

  • @BLAZE68055 You're welcome!! =)

  • Dude really good cover but this songs in drop d down half step but good cover

  • @coolrock420 Thanks but I have to disagree on the tuning it's standard down a half step. Sure you could get away with it in Db too, I am just going by their official tab book. A few chords won't match perfect with the original with the Db. You can see in several of the live vids that he plays that very first chord with the normal Em fingering (using 2 fingers on the 2nd fret A & D with the open E string) if you know what I mean. He doesn't bar all three strings.

  • @coolrock420 Plus the 2nd and 3rd chords on the chorus.

    5/7

    5/7

    3/5

    3/5

You can't duplicate that same sound in Db.

  • @jtodd900 i have personally seen shaun morgan play it in drop d and regular both 1/2 step down

  • @DEATHDEVILGT Like I said above sure you can get away with it in drop Db in a live setting but if you are playing along with the cd version of the song as a backing track and want to match it perfectly it's Eb, so you can match those couple chords I mentioned in my other comment. Just saying that is how it is on the album version.

  • @jtodd900 i agree ive always played in Eb

  • @jtodd900 ok first of all for both of you who are arguing the correct name for drop Db is C#, secondly its not in C# its in Eb. also in the beginning its not full chords you play the octaves

  • @TheCollisionofworlds Bottom line is it's the same tuning Db or C#. I have always called it Drop Db so that's what I am used to and is definitely more common. I see it as Db a lot more than C#. All of my tab books have it listed as Db for songs that call for that tuning. You can call it what you want but it's the same thing and everyone knows what you are talking about either way.

  • Nice job, although i'll have to wait till i get an electric tuner to start on this but thanks a lot.

  • cool

  • what effects pedal did you use (if any)

  • You are dmnd good, and I think gitar players are sexy. ;D I hope you keep it up so I can see more of your good skills. Oh btw I have the same gitar. :D

  • sick man...guess im gonna keep practicing

  • The guitar playing is great! But the tab really sounds off.

  • Thanks, tabs are from their book. Don't forget it's half step down tuning.

  • awesome cover.... wat kinda foot pedal you got? im lookin for one but idk wat to get

  • I have a PODxt Live pedal by Line6. I have heard a lot of good things about the Boss something...I think by Digitech. But the POD is all I have ever used and I love it.

  • ya ive been tlkin to some ppl n most of them have boss too.... idk im jus trying to find a decent pedal u kno.... thanks

  • i notice you have nice fire extinguisher in the background

  • I do?

  • im just starting guitar and i dont know how to read tabs... :(

  • easy numbers stand for the fret number, x stands for mute/palmmute and the Eadgbe are the easiest part there the chords. / is slide up \ is slide down

  • what is the tuning for this song

  • Half step down from standard. The tuning is always along the left side of my tabs.

  • hey would a schecter omen c6 work for these kind of songs??

  • ok. thanks man, u helped aLOT. u rock dude

  • wat r u using?

  • I use a vox AC30, but you don't hear that in my vids cause I record from my pedal directly to the computer for a much better high quality sound. I use a PODxt Live pedal by Line6

  • hey, i have another question. Whats the best amp to get if u want clear, crisp sound, want to fill up lots of space, and is good for any kind of music?

  • everyone has there own opinion, but I think Marshall is a very popular one and the Line6 Spider is very good too.

  • Krank

  • yo what kind of guitar u have and how much was it?

  • It's an American Fender Strat, new is about $1200 - $1400

  • it's actually drop d 1/2 not just standard 1/2 step down

  • Wrong, I have the book and with dropping the top string you won't be able to get that exact sound you need on this part

    -------

    -------

    5 \ 7 7 7

    5 \ 7 7 7

    3 \ 5 5 5

    3 \ 5 5 5

I have seen them play it at 3 concerts also. Believe me I pay attention to that stuff.

  • oh, ok. thanks man helped A LOT u rock dude

  • dude, wats seether's tab books?

  • whats seether's tab books?

  • If you go to your local music store, like a Guitat Center or some place like that, they will have a book section. Most well known bands have books out that have the tabs for their whole album. About $15 to $20 a book.

  • yo, me 2 man. can u send me the tabs 4 this?

  • Sorry I use their tab books

  • DAMN!!!! I just dtarted guitar a week age. Man, i want 2 play like u

  • Thanks, practice every day and you will get there too. I have been playing about 2 years but was pretty good in a few months of everyday practice. Even if only 10 minutes a day.....

  • hey nice cover dude.. do u have those tabs written down to send to me i would really like to learn it and all the tabs i have found have been wrong and didnt sound right.. would be much appreciated if you could,, thanks...

  • Sorry, you will have to write them down or something....I get them from Seether's tab books.

  • you should keep your fender in Drop D

and your les paul in Drop C

and when it comes to standard tuning songs like this just change the fender to standard because its just 1 string difference right

  • That was the plan when I bought the Gibson, keep one in standard and one a half step down and to get a Schecter or something else to keep in drop C. Problem is I can't get used to the feel of the Gibson so I rarely ever play it and am going to sell it :(

  • WHAT wow! jtod900 don't do such thing

the gibson is so much better. just keep and play with it lol or u can give to me for free

  • ur guitar sounds sweet

  • This song can be played full in 1 day nice job dude keep rocking!!!

  • you also need to tell them its tuned 1/2 step down

  • Drop D.

  • 1/2 step down from standard is how they play it and how it is recorded. You could play it in standard or drop D though. But to match the exact tone when playing along it is Eb.

  • it's not drop d, it's Eb. if it were drop D he wouldn't be doing chords like that, the whole guitar is tuned down half a step not just the first string

  • The tuning is along side the tabs, but yeah Eb

  • xD its so hard but so fun to try and play along with you

  • thanks for the video its really good. I just saw seether live last friday and now i can play this song too.
