Alot of wild nights in these buildings, in my youth. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night in one of these buildings on a head of shrooms. Too bad theyre all gone now
@TubeYouGuru hi, was wondering if i could contact you regarding a documentary i am doing on the old hospital... i film some of the old abandoned building before they where torn down.. zoe@muff514.com, if you or anyone you know is interested.
I worked at Whitby Psych from 1968 to1986. We had a lot of fun, Both staff and patients/residents. I'm glad I didn't go back when it was at it's deserted state. I have all of my good memories of the place!

These are horrific. Saturated with sickness, and not strictly of the patients. These places are notorious for worsening the complaint. Even after years of neglect I can see why. Thanks for uploading.
@burninglightable Its a good thing they did. They were incredibly dangerous. The structural integrity of the buildings alone was questionable for many of the buildings. Some buildings were completely contaminated with chemicals. Basements flooded with green coolant colored liquid. When I was a youngin, me and some of my friends collected about .5 L of mercury off the power rooms floor. I know .5 L doesnt seem like alot, but of mercury, thats alot.Lots of asbestos too. Very dangerous buildings..
I laid in those body freezers in the morgue!! each band member laid in each one we took a pic still the coolest eeryest place Ive ever been!! we got so drunk!! we wondered all night and still didnt make it to every building!!! i'm happy though I got 2 tour it b4 the idiots tore it down!!
@Kirkbride1717 RIGHT instead of getting drunk and making games and then being pissed
why not get involved in your local historic preservation society and see what you can do to encourage preservation and discourage destruction of your own environment
i cant believe they tore it down, that was a land mark. I drive past it almost every day, the new building is beutiful but it will never replace the old ones
in Whitby ont Take the 401 to Brock St go south to Victoria St tern right then South on Gordon St you will see it on right on google maps and new one beside it south :)
i just had a look on google maps with the satellite and all building are still there and map date 2009 funny,,,i hear that all but 2 building where dismembered this true ?
the second time i went, i met these two people.. a guy and a girl.. at first everyone was a little nervous.. considering theres a cop station right there, and the new whitbyphyc(cant wait till that closes:D) LoL ..anyways.. after everyone knew we were all there to look around.. they brought us through a building, down a couple halls.. down a couple slanted hallways..lol instead of stairs.. then into sum dark ass pipes everywhere tunnel..lol and then we went into the pitch black morgue.. fuckkedd
im pissedd!! i got the chance to go twice but both times were last minute.. late in the day, and the sun only lasted a hour our two.. theres sooo much stuff to check out there.. its unbeleaveble, you could go for a good hour look around in each building.. and there were atleast 20 buildings there.. its a real shame they tore it down.. it really pisses me off.. it was really a decent experience..
whitby ontario canada, I live close to here i know some weird experiements were carried out there and i have personally been there and seen strange things... like a racooned completely dismembered. :/ Too bad they tore it down was a great trip for a satuday night :D
This sucks for me because, I never got to go in it =[ and i want to go in a place like this there aren't too many left, well hopefully the new turns out to be like this one! =] =p
Chairs, chairs everywhere! Great vid, a family member used to live in Whitby, and we used to drive by. It was a beautiful place in a controlled, understated way.
the army used the tunnels under the buildings, during world war 2 to store weapons. and it's all still under there. no one will ever find them. the tunnels that were used are sealed off, underground.
I worked at WPH 86-89 in the food service area. The bldg.s were beautiful.Huge Kitchen! The"tunnels"were closed off. There were 2 adolecent buildings-that housed seriously mentally ill kids. The courts sent people here as part of their criminal sentence.Patients were not abused here. There was a Geriatric cottage too. The facility was kept clean and tidy-not at all like the pictures you may see.
Its not gone. Its more hidden. Waik up. Its INSIDE YOU as long as you accept it to be HIDDEN (the "hospitals" which hide the angels among us, is more active as never before...)
Ya its all gone now, I live 100 meters away from these buildings and its been all destroyed for a while now. They left the cottages and one building closer to the lake.Used to be a fun place to hang out at...
