Religion is certainly in the privacy of our own homes and it is the founding religious principles of our constitution that provide that. It is a mistake to seperate church and state because that provides for a commonly understood morality from which we are governed. You do not have to be apart of a certain religion but if there were no understood morality then all tolerance would slowly dissentegrate

Without progressives manipulating the Constitution, Jefferson would never have made the Louisiana Purchase (not permitted by the Constitution) and Lincoln (the founder of the Republican Party) would never have won the Civil War (the majority of his actions were unconstitutional...
