  • I joked that Terra's Theme hit me right in the childhood, but this tune here is causing me plain nostalgia.

  • I'm going to play this song on Dec 22 when all the devastation is done.

  • A remake would be great! You know... See all those things that happens in FFVI, in 3D graphics, with voice acting, incredible CGs, beautiful magics and effects, enhanced battle system, great orchestral music (with all the musics of the game remade, with new parts), and as well, a bigger story, showing things that we didn't knew, maybe, and many other things, to make the game even more complete. You know... FFVI was so small compared to FFIV and FFV, due to the limits of the cartridge.

  • This is better than Katy Perry.

  • Square Enix recently announced that they're remaking FF10. I'm like...wow. Out of all the games, they chose 10? And not 6?

    Assholes.

  • @EnglishTurtle square is not the same since when it turned square enix

  • @EnglishTurtle

I thought it was just an HD re-release of FF10? Anyway, they should get around to remaking FF5 and FF6 at some point. I finally downloaded the SNES version of FF6 a week ago on Wii. It's been great so far.

  • @GameBeatenakaKevinS

Nah, its a full remake of FF10. But I'll probably avoid it at all costs.

Also, I too plan on getting the SNES version of FF6 on the Wii. I could easily download the emulator and rom, but I think its worth the money to play on the big screen tv. Its such a beautiful game in all aspects.

I wasn't raised in the era of the SNES unfortunately so I couldn't play this game as a kid. But I did beat it a couple of years ago. And it still feels nostalgic

  • @EnglishTurtle I don't understand why they don't do a remake of FF12 international. I reckon that would go down so much better than 10. As regards a remake of 6..... unnecessary- it is the epitome of 2D art, hell, classic JRPGS and a 3D remake just wouldn't do it justice. My 2c ;)

  • @Kaikara05

No remake is necessary my friend. But it's better than whatever Square Enix is thinking of. Also, its too early for FF12 remake xD, since its a recent entry to the series. FF10, not as recent but still not as demanded for a remake.

I'd LOVE to see FF6 remade with FF13 graphics. My life would be amazing.

  • @EnglishTurtle Ten is the most sold and apreciated FF in Japan, so it´s actualy preety natural they´d do it. Also, it was the last full-proof FF for me, and I enjoyed it enormously so I couldn´t be happier.

  • They really need to make remake of FF6

  • @Fakestar0x but they cant change it too much or itll be ruined like goldeneye 007...

  • It was only a few years ago when I first played through this game, yet this song is already making me feel nostalgic, evoking memories of wintry evenings spent grinding in the Tyrano forest...

  • I have never heard a better song. This is perfection in musical form as far as I'm concerned.

  • This song always brings back memories of my child hood.

  • That's the Falcon Airship theme, isn't it??? I didn't now that was the track's name.

  • @leandroprete Yes it's the map theme while on foot too from that point on as well.

  • Replay button? Deathgaze.

  • My most vivid memory related to this theme:

    1. Get in airship, take off.

    2. Turn EVER SO SLIGHTLY northeast.

    3. Fly in a straight line for 25 minutes.

    4. Fight Doomgaze, swear like a sailor when he runs away.

    5. Repeat until you're sick of Searching For Friends.

  • Oh jesus. I always loved this song, but I never knew what it was called. And now that I see the name and make the connections... goddamn.... goddamn that's powerful.

  • @BlackCladGolbez Here's what you do for the Final Fantasy VI soundtrack

    1. Google "Final Fantasy Soundtrack"

    2. Open new window

    3. Search each track on Youtube

    4. Play until you're sick.

  • WoR=U.S.S.R :D

  • 3 people couldn't catch a fast fish.

  • anything after ff7 is pure trash. Went downhill from ff6... *sniff*

  • @hynyt Except 9.

  • That's what I call a bassline.

SquareSoft why did you have to merge with Enix?

  • @free2pzwn i agree with the bassline, but who gives a fuck about the merger? FF games are still coming out, DQ games are still coming out. the world is fine. chill the fuck out.

  • @lazer59882

    "Chill the fuck out"

I'm not even angry I'm just questioning why they had to merge, seem's like YOU are the mad one.

Also, i'd rather them cut FF games forever now because the recent FF games are utter shit. That is my opinion but it is also fact.

  • @free2pzwn FF games have been utter shit since 7, and that was looong before the merger. what's your point? why did they merge? they merged because it was financially viable for both of them to do so, just like every other merger in the history of business. are you so thick to not understand that?

  • @lazer59882

Of course I understand that it was financially viable, but what's that got to do with the fact that since Enix merged with Square, the quality of FF games have decreased? This includes general public opinion and also critic opinion.

Also, you say that they have been shit since FF7; well FF9 is the most critically acclaimed Final Fantasy game out there, and FF10 is highly ranked among fans and critics alike.

Then look at shit like FF13 and 14, tell me that shit hasn't gone downhill.

  • @free2pzwn unlike you, i dont base how good or bad a game is on what kind of review scores it got. also going from your response, it seems like you havent even played most FFs, youve just read reviews. as someone who's played every single FF (except the retarded MMO ones and X-2) they have been getting worse and worse since VI, which anyone with a brain would agree is the best FF ever. it has nothing to do with the merger, it has to do with the direction SE wanted/wants to take their franchise

  • @lazer59882 I think its safe to say after 10 was all garbage. When you didint have a world map it was bad enough but when theres no nobuo its not final fantasy, and never will be. Fuck 12. Just saying.

  • @ZentetsukenVII personaly i liked 12 more than 10. i enjoyed the atmosphere of the world and exploring it WAY more than the linear bullshit that was X, and the characters were also more interesting and WAAAAY less irritating than the characters in X. the battle system was fucking garbage and i'll hate it till the day i die, the music like you said was completely unmemorable and it didnt really feel like FF, but by god it was leagues better than X with its nonsense story linearity and idiot chars

  • @ZentetsukenVII FF12 is an awesome game.. But maybe not a awesome FF.. I really liked the 12, hate the 10 and 13. (finished both with Hardtime took month, because I hate most of the characters and could not finish them to 100% because too much bored) But for me, FF9 was the last FF that deserve to be compared to the awesome 4, 6 and 7(I really like the 5, much less the 8 although he is not bad..)

  • This should be the theme song of Facebook.

  • @MezaseMaster lol for you

  • @Alvosploio I don't have one, but keep up that spirit.

  • @MezaseMaster Facebook doesn't deserve this work of art

  • @Mother3pla3r x10000000000000000000

  • Does anyone know where to find the Dissidia Duodecim version of this??

  • @DragosTheGod You're listening to it right now. Duodecim didn't remix it, they just included the original track.

  • @Schwartzdying *music plays* *DZWUIT-dzwuuiiIITT!*

*Battle Theme!* THOUSAND NEEDLES! You killed a Cactrot! *Victory Theme!* - repeat ad infinitum.

  • This song reminds me of the end of Star Wars Episode 6: Return of The Jedi. The flute is like what they use when they are partying with the little teddy bear guys. Ewoks?

  • Dat bass.

  • Getting Magicite's skills killing cactoids and sandworms made me love this song :)

  • HEY^^ dudem watch my solo guitar cover from it :)

  • Kefka and Emperor Geshtahl(I don't think I spelled his name right, lol) don't like this song.

  • @Gilmoreboy2007 The emperro cannot like this song, since by the time you get to hear that, he's dead.

  • First time I got this ship. I went up and 3 seconds later was wiped out by Doomgaze because everyone was caught under level 5 death. lol

Tell me I'm not the only one this happened to?

  • To be brutally honest, I did rent this game first. That's why I wanted it. I heard this music in a future version. I didn't know how to look up FAQ at the time either and played it for only a few days.

So when I got to the World of Ruin for the first time I wondered why this music didn't play. I had no idea that you were going to get the Falcon.

  • @Greatermaxim lol but it's sooooo cool when you hear it for the first time! My personal favorite scene in the game.

  • The bassline is just awesome, is there a bass cover from this melody ? If not, someone here have to play it QUICKLY :-)

  • Man, I can't believe I missed that Final Fantasy concert a few years back... Final Fantasy might be oxymoron to some but it has some sweet music.

  • Only over 70,000 views?

  • @2011nimh at least ITS OVER 9000!!!! Couldnt resist :)

  • First exposure to Final Fantasy was when I was 6 or 7. I watched a neighbor play FF4, he was descending into the lunar core at the very end. Talk about epic music! When I first picked up 6 from a pawn shop at 12, I opened up a saved game and this was the first song i heard. 6 has been my favorite since then. The music reminds me of how life has its ups and downs and even in the pit of despair, there is always hope. @F4LCOx77

  • I know I will get tons of backlash for this, but video games today SUCKS compared to back then. I remember a time when video games was focused solely about gameplay and story, now it's just about graphics and effects.

  • @ericyee3 Yep, you are right, I miss good old SquareSoft, where gameplay and history were over graphics

  • @ericyee3 totally agree with you. let the backlash come, you're not alone (oh look, another great song XD)

  • @ericyee3 That's why the MOTHER series is so AWESOME!

  • @ericyee3 Dude, most "old" (i.e. 25+) gamers feel that way. FF6 and Chrono Trigger are still my favorite games, and I replay them every other year with intact pleasure. Which reminds me, it's been 3 or 4 years since I last played FF6... Hmm... Where did I put my DS? ^^

That said, I don't agree that all modern games suck. There are some very good modern games, you just have to pick and choose carefully, and look besides the hyper-marketed FPS bullshit. (I'm looking at you, CoD and Halo!)

  • @ericyee3 I agree with you fully, and I'm 14.

  • If the world does end I'm gonna be listening to this while looking for other survivors

  • Gosh I really wish I grew up with these games

  • @RedBig117 I know right? Our generation has missed out on so much..

  • @MementoMoriMoon All I can say is, you gotta make your dream. No new games drive my imagination anymore... it sucks but childhood is past. All we can do is make new dreams for the next generation! :)

It does suck that you guys missed out on the Golden Era of Gaming; it was gone before we knew it...

  • @Senshidayo

I'm 13 years old and I grew up playing SNES games. How? See, starting at when I was 6 in 2003, emulators were in full swing and my uncle downloaded loads of SNES classics like EarthBound and Chrono Trigger, and other N64/GB games like Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Blue. So yeah, I grew up playing the same games you did except years later. I'm going to raise my kid the same by using emulators to make him grow up with the classics.

  • @rashrules05 LOL! This brought a smile to my face. There's a lot more to life than videogames, but the fond memories I have from exploring galaxies, slaying dragons, saving princesses, and destroying evil probably will never go away. :)

  • this theme kinda touching... like friends forever

  • A music filled with despair for a world fallen in darkness, yet a shred of hope remains as you search for your lost friends.

  • @Blorp77 The best thing about the story is that it was low on the melodrama, and contrived emotions, and high on the bonds of friendship--most of the romance (aside from Locke and Celes) (SPOILERS) is based on dead spouses, be it Cyan's family, Terra's parents, Locke's lover, Edgar and Sabin's parents, or Setzer's entire storyline.

A videogame doesn't need sex or overt violence to be mature. It needs values, a plot, and a reason to do good and to save. Give me something that inspires me anyday.

  • @Blorp77 over the angstful, selfish silliness that passes for some of the stories of games these days. FF III uplifted me, it didn't make me wish the world would end. It actually made me grateful, flaws and all, for the world we do have.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

  • In Soviet Russia, friends search for YOU!

  • @RATPT0I So, World fo Ruins is Soviet Russia? makes sense...

  • @RATPT0I No wonder Russia got so large if that's how people are. Might move there XD

  • @RATPT0I HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHa very VERY funny

  • @RATPT0I still it would be Searching for Friends ^^

  • @RATPT0I Haha, that is a sweet unexpected Yakov Smirnoff joke!

  • One of the best themes in videogames history.

  • Well i know what i will play in my airship if i survive 2012..

  • @mirrorpiece I sincerely doubt that you have a fully functional airship.

  • The amount of times I used to call Nintendo's walkthrough phone line because of this game..

    <3

  • VI is the only game of any genre that's ever moved me to tears, between the story and the music it's as if this game was created under the divine influence of All That Is.

  • @MalignantNarcizzizm If you want another similar experience, I heartily recommend Mother 3, one of the GBA's best JRPGs. Get an emulator and download the game with the English translation patch (the game was never released outside of Japan, but the fan translation is top-notch). The ending made me literally cry.

  • Squaresoft bought out ENIX because it SAW what Enix pulled off with games like Illusion of Gaia and Star Ocean 2nd Story and wanted in. I think Brainlord was also Enix (not sure).

This song was actually my favorite on the entire FFVI soundtrack...I love the flute accompanying instruments. It makes me wonder how FF has fallen so much in the last few releases (not including XIII that is a good one). But if one goes back and plays VI or VII and compares them to FFs now...it's wtf happened???

  • Best video game music ever made. Love it, love it to death.

  • Square soft was the best! Don't know why SQUARE SOFT will fall and the SQUARE ENIX will take over .....

  • @F4LCOx77 Your story has made me shed manly tears of pride! If you ever build an airship, I'll gladly be a crewman under your command!

  • Why everyone writes FF IV?

    VI = 6

  • @F4LCOx77 I love these Final Fantasy SNES series. they brought much you to me and others, not to mention great memories of how a RPG should be made with a great characters, a perfect storyline and awesome BGM. For those two that didn't like this theme seriously jump of a bridge man

  • I got to the botomb of that tomb

Setzer remember her friend (the original owner of the second airship)

    The airship takes off

This song begins, then you look for your friends.

one of the most epic moment in the series.

  • @NeoArashi setzer is a guy

  • @narutoke Yeah, my mistake.

  • An uplifting song for when you soar above the clouds in your airship. The ship that gives you hope, with it, you can go back and rescue the rest of the party from whatever danger they are in, and then go to Kefka's lair and finally make him pay for what he's done.

  • I remember that good times, times that marked my life in the past, I feel something in my heart when I heard this song, I remember when I was a kid, thumbs up for the old games!!!

  • this is one of the songs announced for dissidia 2

shame there is no VI or IX chars :(

  • @sasukexx

    REALLY!?

  • @Calvinooi sadly it is yes

    no vivi or celes :(

  • @Calvinooi thats not true. there will be ff 6 and ff9 characters. right now on wikia for 6 and 9 it says TBA on the character sections. meaning there planning to announce them at the last moment before they release the dissidia 012. for now there keeping them a secret. just like they did with gabranth and shantotto. more proof is that on ign and other game companies there was a decription of the rating of the game and they mentioned that there would be BOOMORANGS in the game. one name, locke

  • @F4LCOx77 that's amazing ;A; thats how i feel about zelda since i could barely read at 5 yrs old and started playing in the 4th grade

  • This exact BGM will be in Dissidia 012. It won't be remixed.

  • @RecklessDragoon but i dont understand why they remix the most other tracks. The original is somewhat nostalgic and retro-like. It would be nice to have the remix AND the original from the tracks

  • I use this for flight music in World of Warcraft with the Soundtrack Add-on. I do like the fact that it is the world map music after that creepy music goes away.

  • I cannot count on my fingers how many times I have replayed this game in my life time, It has been with me since my childhood and now I am playing it once again. FFVI is one of the best Final Fantasy game I have ever played.

  • this theme is so damn nice.... sounds like friendship forever... T_T

  • The percussion is way too loud on the GBA version. It's annoying. I like this better.

  • @AquariusCyclone the only things that were good in the gba version was new content and a better script.

  • DAT BASS

  • where ones dies one begins

  • kefka disliked this

  • This is just an awesome song. After all of the hopelessness you experience in the World of Ruin, and the events of Daryl's epitaph, he starts up the Falcon like a boss and shit, goosebumps!

  • i finally finished this game after 3 years... i got stuck on vargas when i was little because i didn't know how to do the blitz, i read the instructions wrong, it was a big fail, but then i got past it... and i beat the game after awhile i loved the music and i'm gonna be doing a walkthrough of this game for youtube, i used to get in the airship just because to listen to this one.... haha thanks for the upload! :)

  • Final Fantasy 4 and 6 are my favorites.

  • i should play this on an airplane

  • I missing time periot I am a kids

  • ゲーム音楽にしておくのは勿体無い感じもするけど、やはりあの場面があってこそというのはあるかもしれません。

    この曲は日本人好みの曲だと思ってたけど、外国の方にも相当受け入れられているみたいですね。

  • Damn, if i was to choose one theme to represent FFVI, this would be it! A very hope-inspired theme. I'm gonna download it! Thanks for the nostalgic upload.

  • Vanish! Doom! =))

  • the 1 person that hit the dislike button's deaf.

  • @Lastdon56 Obviously, that person was Kefka.

  • @Lastdon56 Why would a deaf person go on videos to dislike them?

  • @Exvzz the same reason why fat people gather to make fun of skinny people

  • @Lastdon56 That makes sense I guess!

  • Sitting back on my hoopdy with my 90's black shades on cruising back with one hand on the wheel!

  • I love how the other world theme is just dark and depressing and when this song finally comes on it's like new life is being breathed into the game and there's a sense of hope.

  • rpg's helped me learn how to read ^_^

  • @hitokirimasamun Darn straight. Some of my first sentences were read in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, my first RPG.

  • @hitokirimasamun

Same here. And increased my vocabulary tremendously.

  • I remember when i first played this when i was 9. I used to never want to finish the game just so i could keep flying the airship and hear this music while i go searching.

  • This song is my childhood.

  • There's just something magical about these older FFs. The music in my opinion deserves to be recognized as pure brilliance. I like it more than classical music, and maybe even more than actual bands.

  • @hellbadger84 And yet it's quite appropriate.

  • @F4LCOx77 Amen :P

  • made me want to play it again, this game is the best in the series.

  • the best game ever created..

  • its so beautiful...reminds me of a time long lost :( they dont make them like this anymore

  • Tell me about it. I sympathize with you on that one.

  • @noobinator223cde And it deeply pains me to say they never will.

  • @aryoshie agreed :(

  • doomgaze ought to go and kill itself for being so annoying!

  • Emotionally, I don't think anything matches the second half of Final Fantasy 6...

too bad the final boss is way way way too easy.

  • He's not easy at all, if you go to his tower immediately after acquiring the airship ;D

  • Such a dreamy tune. I imagine flying the Falcon around the World of Ruin.

It kind of gives you the feeling that it's not over yet. There's still hope.

  • does anyone have the tablature for this song or kno where to get it?

  • I sometimes dream of the day they remake this game into a newer console...

  • yeah Id actually rather have a FF6 remake over 7, n i love 7 to death, id just want to watch the opera scene in next gen ^_^

  • Great pick.

This one always makes me sit back and enjoy the overarching theme of friendship in all of the FF games :)

  • This song really brings your spirits up... it almost like its saying, "So Kefka got near god like powers, and your friends are scattered over a broken world. You know you're not going to quit and neither are your friends until everything fixed. So Kefka better get ready to lose, because we're coming for him really soon."

  • im shocked and in awe of this song. Masterful composition.

  • Truly from a different time of video games, when there was more substance and less pointless shine.

  • Oh Locke, I hope you're alright.

  • Epic song. I have this original soundtrack and I'm holding it right now (what a perv):D

  • Your so right. SNES FTW!!

  • This is like.... My story lol. Dad got them, played them, loved them. I get nostalgia from even looking at the game covers.

  • This theme is right up there with "Thoughts in my Heart" from FFVII for fueling a remarkable transitional moment. These both follow big periods of heavy drama, break the residual tension from (possibly) nasty early-game boss fights (Dullahan tore ME a new one the first time, at least), and herald the sudden opening of a much broader play area. It's not quite on a par with master strokes like the heartfelt FFVI opera scene or either games' riveting end sequence themes, but it's quite memorable.

  • this tune is the definition of hope.

  • so true!

  • Yea i can humm every tune in this game...i dont really remember this one.... :(

  • Hmm, I never got to appreciate this song enough I think, seeing as how the airship was SO fast and you'd get there in a blip of a second whereas new FF games had the airship moving at a "realistic" pace. Thanks a lot for this, I have many fond memories of this game_^)

  • I called this song : The Song of Hope! When I hear this song, it's like everything lights up and everything will be okay, especially with what happens to the world!

    Very nice choice!

  • Its awesome

  • oh the days when final fantasy/square strived for more mature themes and aesthetics instead of pandering to a teen sociodemographic market base to sell over a million pieces of product

  • My favorite world map song next to FF9!!!!

  • I got stuck on the Vargas fight as a kid since I had no clue to use the Blitz command, and then after I bought and started it a few months ago, I got the flu. So I stopped.

  • Rofl, my bro and I had the same problem. We must of been 10, we still rented the game and started a new game every time too. I remember having our sister's boyfriend do it for us and we were so excited. Later I paid $60 for the game used.

  • Uematsu's best work was FFVI. It was downhill after this.
