dude, ur right hand wraps above the ocarina not bellow. and try not to put so much air in it when u play. make ur lips more closed so the air is more focused
I know, but if you look at the date, you see that I posted this before I learned to hold the ocarina right way.. I guess I will redo this one after getting sheets for them
Thanks. Um, you don't have the sheets for this song? I just got an easy one made for the 8 holes ocarina. So I can just play it on the plastic one. And I have to admit (without making it an excuse) that I can't get this ocarina to make sound very nice at all. It's not the best quality, I think. If I did know how to play it on a 12-hole, then it would be much better.
thanx... I did actually order another ocarina from stlocarina... this time I ordered a purple clay ocarina... and that huge songbook is included.. with 40 songs and it should be easy to learn...

well you should get good soon the ocarina is not so hard to learn. I learned how to use mine in 1 week. Practice more and more everyday and you will see the results.
You're also holding your ocarina incorrectly. :P Your right hand is supposed to on the other side of the ocarina, not on the outside with the left. If that makes sense. :P
um... no it doesn't make sense... I did put all the fingers on the holes that they were suposed to... I couldn't understand some other way.. if I did put my fingers on the holes according to the instructions.. and I followed it... and it wouldn't be anything like "Happy birthday" if I did hold it reverse... if that was what you ment...
It's tough to explain, I'll just tell you to look at one of my 12 hole ocarina videos. Although it's a different ocarina, it's held the same as your plastic one there. (remember my videos are mirrored so my left is my right) If all else fails I'll make a video with a plastic one for you. :P

Um... have you tried the Songbird/Focalink ocarinas? I'm sure they're much higher quality instruments...

Yeah, umm..... you right hand's supposed be overhand. Like so your palm is facing down. That's why they make it like that.
