1) Mordente: 3 note, come in 1:20.
@jamma140 Actually, in the final chord Bach used what is known as a "Tierce de Picardie" which is when a piece in a minor key ends in a major chord. Also, if you're talking about what sounds like a wrong note right before the final chord, that's simply a suspension of the leading tone over a tonic base. I also played this piece for an exam in August, so I know what I'm talking about. Perhaps you should take a history lesson before laughing at such an amazing performance.
In the whole set I only noticed one point where I felt unsatisfied (last bar B flat minor, Bk2 could've been crisper, no rit.). The entire performance was clean, clear, delightful and magical - very British - what more do you want from a Bach recording?

Angela Hewitt is an excellent pianist, but her Bach performances always feel lacking to me. I've never really been able to enjoy them. Although she certainly appreciates Bach and has a genuine desire to convey his music well, her performances don't have the same subtlety of spirit and enthusiasm such as can be found in performances by Gould, Vinograde, and Koopman, among others. Her performances feel pianistically generic. I don't have the vocabulary to put it any more accurately than that.
@mamadeus081 No its not from that. I have the DVD. Its from "JS Bach - 48 Preludes & Fugues - the Well Tempered Clavier". Angela H is one of four pianists that appear on it. The others are Andrei Gavrilov, Nikolai Demidenko and Joanna MacGregor. Their performances are posted here on YT as well. You should be able to find it on Amazon.
good performance, and prelude (for me) one of the rare songs that actually sound good from the Baroque period of music

In my opinion, her staccato is a bit too expressed, but overall good performance

@Sashaeharmony This is a composition, piece, how ever you want it... It is not a song because songs are sung. This can't be sung.

She's the best Bach performer. Dispite it's Bach she still plays so romantic. Love it.

agree. The performance is good, but does not carry much 'joy' or 'dance' as she herself mentioned in the beginning.

These are marvellous. Are they commercially available, and if so what DVD are they on?

"Bach performance on the piano" is the title. I don't know if you found that out by now?
