@Sonia4U2 You can do this, too! It is not as difficult as it looks. I learned to crochet by making these doilies. I found basic crochet instruction books and videos at my public library. None of these doilies uses difficult stitches. I found great doily patterns from the library and more from vintage patterns sold on eBay and Amazon.
So nice, I wanted to take it in my hands from the screen! I fall in love with them, it is quite a frustration! and the song was nice too. Thank you for this delicated chrochet work!
BEAUTIFUL! It brings back memories of my great grandmother. Thank you so much! Do you know of any sites online that have video's of making doilies? I don't do so well with written instructions.
@kporter72 I recommend asking your public librarian about finding videos and books on beginning crochet instruction. Our library has terrific materials for this, which is how I learned. I actually taught myself to learn crochet instructions by making these doilies. You don't have to start out with potholders. Thank you for your kind remarks and for taking the time to comment. Get started on learning and you will be very well rewarded. You'll have your own doilies in no time!
your work is so inspiring ! i've been crocheting for about 2 years and am just now going into thread and doilies and you make them look sooooo beautiful and i would love to try these, great work.
They are all totally beautiful, you are very gifted and talanted, wish I could crochet doilies as well as this. Can I ask how long did it take you to perfect making these and how long does the average doilie take to make ?

Can you tell me what Knitted Lace "Goldregen" designed by Herbert Niebling means? Is that the creator of these patterns for the doilies?

This is beautifully done. My mother and relatives used to make them in the Caribbean---some were starched animals.

These doilies are so beautiful. The
closest thing I can make towards a
doily is a granny square.
