Stupid cop should be doing something better then wasting his time talking to these two kids. You do not need to give him ID because you have not committed any crime. A lot of break ins yeah right. If people are doing break ins they are not going to be stealing a couch. If they did steal a couch they would not walk with it but put it in a vehicle. Kids next time a cop asks for your information tell them that you do not consent to this conversation. You broke no laws here.

Maybe they were so cooperative to the cop's requests because the scenario might make for a good video? Or, they know that Fairfax is notorious for not releasing the police reports in spite of public information requests, abuse complaints or even standard arrest reports. So when a cop sees a video camera, yeah, he's going to get some info and see what buttons can be pushed.
