I just scalloped my first neck. Aside from four days of hard labor (100% hand carved & sanded), it took another week of finishing/fine sand/buffing. But it turned out to be a great project. Trying to relearn how to play again. This technique is not for the heavy handed. It takes a very light touch. I always admired Yngwie, but now even more. If you fret too hard, your note goes sharp instantly. To keep in tune as fast as he plays...try it sometime. You'll see.

This is obviously an improvised peace..And its amazing..The touch, bends, vibrato is mindblowing..There are a lot of famous guitarists (that I really like by the way), like Vai and even Satch, that have terrible instincts when its comes to improvised solos..Especially Vai that feels the need to do something experimental every time he is improvising, just ends up doing some weird noise..Both Satch and Vai are great playing their own worked out stuff of course, but this here is something else..

Both, Malmsteen has been quoted as saying, were his main influences along with the classical influences of Paganini and Bach. It is true that Malmsteen brought the style to a larger audience.
