  • Hooksey really did get bowled over by a bouncer.

  • where are they now?Roy Fredericks became Guyana's Minister of Sport but has since passed away,Ian Redpath ran an antique shop in Geelong,Joel Garner became an accountant,Barry richards is acommentator back in South Africa and Greg Chappell became a really horrible coach and selector, first stuffing up the indians and now the Aussies.

  • Thomo's drinkin' tinnies...

  • This is when cricket was REAL CRICKET!

  • Absolutely - what a series of anthems!

  • ross edwards in the cap at .58?

  • i like this much better than the oi oi oi bullshit we sing these days

  • Which series is this from?

  • Those were the days!

  • Here's an idea. You folks should bring this back this Ashes!

Sounds quite catchy to me. Would shut the Barmy army up for some time :-)

  • YOU LITTLE RIPPER ..

  • cmon aussie cmon cmon would sound like a better warcry than that

aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi slop i keep hearing

  • Poor old Hooksy...bashed to death by a night club bouncer.

These were the real glory days of cricket, im just glad i was a teenager at the time and right into my cricket, seen Lillee bowl to Richards at the SCG, seen Clive Lloyd hit a 6 on the last ball of a limited overs game to take the win (the week b4 T Chappell bowled an underarm)....the Hill at the SCG ..pity its gone now, Ockers and Yobbo's gone too. Now we got Mad Muslims and crazy wogs..

  • What a hoot to see this again, The Chapell bros, Dennis the Lillee, Lenny Pascoe and company what they did for the game .... fantastic. Remember the commercial..."Its hot outside Mr Walker".... wonder if thats here as well

  • Classic stuff. I have not heard it in years. Thanks for resurrecting it.

  • WSC Got bagged back then by the cricket traditionalists. Stuff them I can honestly say as a kid back then it was WSC and this song that captured my imigination and got me playing cricket for nearly 30 years on. Kids need to be excited, 20/20 is a good move to get the kids interested again.

  • yeah they did and now look at what WSC did for the game it gave it a right kick up the arse and its never been better

  • @fb2800 Agreed!

  • Nothin beats WSC. Thatnks to Packer, Chappelli & all their mates to bring this game to where it is today. If it wasnt for those guys it would still be boring. But could you imagine turning the clock back to watch Viv take on Lille in a 20/20 match? How awesome would that be?

  • Year I remember Lillee pounding down at the SCG and everyone was bashing the fence

  • Are you serious mate?

  • My dad wrote this song! Thank you for posting as he passed in 2007 but this song will never be forgotten!

  • so.. you must be my brother then...

  • Totally awesome mate, thanks heaps for sharing the video.

Tomorrow and for the next two ashes tests, give them hell :D

    Cmon Aussie Cmon Cmon!!!

  • U hav gotta luv these guyz. they made the best songz.

  • WOW! Did this take me back to The World Series Cricket days of the 1970's. I was their team photographer , and got to travel all over with all the teams. Loved here the song again...

    Skye Susalla

  • i love how they had no fences then, people sat on teh grass with their shirts off all tanned. and people could run onto the ground back then too

  • classic

  • northscricket.. love the c'mon aussie clips... i still cant find one from i reckon 81-82 for the world series cup. The lyrics i recall are "will we see Greg Chappell back to bite the apple" & "theres a big gold vee & its just got to be won.. a three way battle" The 82-83 WSC is also a beauty . opens with "The kiwis are back to seek revenge & theres Willis & Botham & friends" ends with "the crowd will all be chantin' crickets national anthem.. you know thw words c'mon i'll play the chords"

  • How the Aussies would crave for this side..... Redpath, Laird, I Chappell [c], G Chappell [vc], Hookes, Walters, Marsh, Gilmour, Walker, Lillee, Pascoe.

  • Abosolute all time classic

  • C'mon Aussie c'mon c'mon

  • Lillies pounding down like a machine....Great to see and hear this again after all these years, thanks for posting.
