You guys are idiots!!!! Phillip is NOT going to turn into a mermaid/merman. Earlier in the movie, one of the sailors states that mermaids are all female and they reproduce by snatching sailors off ships, mating with them, and then they kill the sailor afterwards.

I'm thinking she gave him a kiss so he could breathe underwater until they reached the fountain of youth or at least a place where she can heal him. Maybe tears of a mermaid have healing powers? Well, in any case, they were amazing. :)

People who look for a reason or a reasonable "Happy ending" will never find one, and go into denial just because they liked the characters. Im not saying she did eat him, just that its not a surprise if she did. A lot of people like those two as a "couple" who will be forever together happily ever after, or some sht. These movies have a dark mood to them so.. You never know, just wait for 5th movie. So don't be offended cause I said she ate him like most mermaids did during the attack. Watch it!

@Dack4ever Nahh, just and opinion not like I have anything against the actor or mermaids, its just their nature that they would lure the weak hearted sailors and surprisingly pirates are the ones who try to avoid them, and most of all Jack for doing this and that with a mermaid and taking off. Have you seen some of the Disney movies, its not really surprising and this is Pirates of the Caribbean, so you mean to say that one guy that got dragged down and vanished in red blur is not dead?. LOL XD
