  • Does anyone know which year's Margazhi Mahotsavam is this from?

  • amazing rendering

  • can anyone explain to me what the mistake was that gayatri made?

  • In nagaswarali, excellent, excellent rendering of vidushis ranjani-gayathri impress the audience, no, impress the almighty so much, i am sure whenever they are singing, lord will listen to them with patience. In kannada they say Malagi paadidare, kulithu keluva, kulithu paadidare, ninthu keluva, ninthu paaadidare, nalitha keluva,. And this is unique all the concerts at your Margali mahothsavam in chennai.

  • Incredible. I don't think I ever heard such simultaneous sounds so perfectly dancing and moving together in harmonious union! Thanks for posting :)

  • Thanks so mcuh for posting this great performance. the two sisters have become the poster-children for the ideal standards of Excellence in Carnatic Krithis and Kutchery traditions. The nagaswarali rang is not easy, neither the fast tempo!! Congrats, and Compliments

  • Incredible speed and a fantastic rendition! Love it.

  • Stunning! God bless the young ladies and their service to art and music, not forgetting their devotion to the Lord and His Bhaktas!

  • We can clearly see that Gayatri made a mistake from 0:47 to 0:51 by Ranjani's instant reaction. Can anyone clarify what was the error that Gayatri made?

  • I think she sang Bahudari instead of Nagaswaravali (which is what the song it set to). That was the mistake.

  • My take is that there was no mistake made.

  • In tamil we can describe this fast tempo as 'Viru viruppana ' singing.TErrific ,faultless voice, great command over laya,neraval,/good brighas, swara suddham (purity of notes,)..also listen to the excellent voice matching of both the sisters

  • not hear them before, but they are just fantastic... the more I hear them I more I want to listen... just goes to prove our classical music (carnatic and hindustani) has so much to offer

  • fantastic

    thanks -johan paris
