In the Uk homosexuality is considered normal I have many gay relatives and friends whom I love as much as anyone but I think it just depends on individual perception of homosexuality. Jack, your video is great. I'm an American exchange student studying in Freo, WA. I have yet to come out to any of my friends, but they all seem like they would be fairly accepting.

It seems like it would be harder to come out in AU than the US- I'm sorry I know that's a generalization- but thank you for posting your experience. It's been so helpful and encouraging, especially since I'm a bit of a late "closet bloomer" at the age of 21. Hope all's well. Great vid.

An uncanny parallel in our coming out stories. I went to Poland with a group and came out to them much as you did to your Japanese group. Totally accepting, & my confidence was built up too. Returned and came out to everyone, and virtually no problem. The tourist industry in Australia owes you a big debt.
