Pletnev mostra ser um excelente intérprete de Bach. Harmoniza os pianíssimos e os fortes habilmente, com efeitos sonóros próprios da sua interpretação. Um grande pianista, sem dúvida.
What's this? -- a pianist who's not pretending to be a harpsichordist! It doesn't surprise me so much that the often dry and idiosyncractic Pletnev has something to say when it comes to Bach, though.
The lesson of this rendition is that when playing Bach on the piano one needn't be afraid of mighty dynamics for they needn't confuse harmony or counterpoint.
I wish I did not watch glenn gould playing this just before. I could not concentrate or give Pletnev the attention of my soul because it was no longer available.
Pletnev's understanding of the architecture and polyphony is apparent in his playing and I feel that I just had the best lesson from this performance, Pletnev pointed out the underlying hidden meaning really well...excellent performance and interpretation i love it
@nkgvl Interesting point about it being more Pletnev than Bach....perhaps that`s inevitable when you play Bach on an instrument which didn`t exsist in his lifetime?
Whatever the case may be,this is an extraordinary realisation of the piece-I grew up with the Gould recording but this is completely different and I love it.
I have written a beautiful piece of music. I am thinking about mailing it to Pletnev, perhaps he can give it a try; and well, since he can make a piece his own I am certain to obtain stardom and great fame. Don´t get me wrong, I know it will be secondary, or indirect stardom, given the fact Pletnev made my piece his own. But no matter, I will have a destiny resembling Bach´s for I am sure Pletnev´s splendid playing will make it sound godly, heavenly, sublime. Im sure you´ll be moved.
The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Bravo, Mr. Pletnev!

C'est sa vision de l'oeuvre, mais il a fort à faire avec Gould et Weissenberg !

P6 in Bach-Busoni style. Wow. Perhaps in vogue taste, but well done. Thumbs up from here.
