One of my all time faves! Stoked to the see the commenter below who relates this to Heartbreak High's character Ryan Scheppers. Me too! Those were the days <3
Ryan Skeppers earns the monkier 'ice man' 4his bone chilling head-high tackle upon teamate Kurt @ Rugby practice, they dont know if Kurt will walk again. All they know: He's hurt-an Iceman's an outcast. Iceman's class attendance drops, as he begins drug taking an grows paler
Cue chorus "AT A MILLION MILES AN HOUR" ice man walks past school, leans against the steel fence, looks in @ guilt free students playing @ lunch, Immense pain.."AT A MILLION MILES AN HOUR"
this song pooped up in my head today.. no particular reason. I flew me back and it still gives me shivers. was it that long ago this tune?! gah.. Forever one of the best. Go Aussie! x
geez.... steph let herself go for awhile there didnt she? seriously though, great band, great memories - but where the fuck did all the years go? flies by
has anyone got the live at the wireless gig these guys did back in the late nineties? i"t has the best version of jebediah's harpoon and I would love to hear it again.
Love this song. Reminds me of year 11 in high school when i was listening to it. Got this live on a triple J special from when Beautiful Sharks came out. Beautiful sharks is their best album by far. Astronaut, whatever you want etc etc
damn right!!! weakarse bass player, wonder how she got the gig(?!?!)... the guy in this clip was the best the band had, but he only stayed a year or two cos he had big probs with passive smoking at gigs....! he should rejoin now.... but he didn't actually play the bass in this song!
OMG!!! I ACTUALLY CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THIS SINCE I GOT INTO IT!!! It's officially my favourite song now, not just by them, but as a whole! Man SFK is talented!!! I saw Paul alone touring for his new album about a month ago and he was incredible! I'd been waiting to see him for years! This is easily their best song and clip!!! It's astonishing how one man can be this talented, and I can't delineate how amazing this band is...it takes me to another place mentally. Ahh such a great feeling!!!xD
They cut out the start, that's what makes the sforzando so fucking powerful! It's preceeded by something like a crescendo, but too sudden to be considered one.
Oh well... Still a mad song even without the intro. =]
Ah vasoline.... the guitarist, Dean DeLeo: gifted with the ability to make the same two fucking notes over and over again sound incredibly interesting xD
Yeah, the beautiful thing is even though it changes time, it still flows. Tried to play this beat; I've got it in my head, but my arms just won't do it!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, but honestly, if the drum riffs in this song freak your drum teacher out...maybe you should get another drum teacher. Sure, Clint's a rocking drummer, but this is not hard to play.
What a memory trip used to just sit at UTS and stare out the window at the planes taking off instead of studying in1997/98 this song absolutely summed it up. I think its more about being a product of a broken suburban home than actually being a Qantas employee however.
omg I had a hankering for Heartbreak High today and remembered that I had the snippet of this song on a video that I'd taped from TV, and here is the video. I used to rewind that tape over and over and just watch the credits for this song..... awesome.....

Saw Paul Dempsey perform this solo in front of a crowd of diggers in Balibo, East Timor in 2002. I couldn't beleive how strong his voice was - he cranked it out! Undoubtedly the best SFK song ever

@theoriginalshaun because it was the 90s, and music these days is generic, manufactured, soulless and frankly too try hard.

I love the size of this song, it is ENORMOUS but kind of tiny and heart breaking.
By far their best ever track.

No doubt. This is their best song. Can't beat a rocking tune that changes in time signature. Sign of a band that knows their shit.
