I am not sure if Soros is genuinly striving for open societies, or that it is a front, a step on the way to global tyranny. But I do know that the USA and the European Union might collapse because of the currency systems they have chosen. Debts outweigh the money that exists to repay them. This is not the result of overspending or bad management. It is in the design. Debts increase with interest. Money does not increase. (Savings accounts increase a bit)
