@YourWiseSage He's not using his back to move the weight, the movement is at the hip joint. The primary muscles being used are the butt and hamstrings.
I would say in my opinion not on steroids but definitely different types of supplements like creatines, glutamines and proteins (duh). I say at the most he could be on testosterone
How are the top comments on a body building or powerlifting video really anti-steroid? You're supposed to quit being naive and closed minded as you grow up, kids.
@x1Corona1x Bodybuilders can be big but not necessarily very strong as is the case of much of the professional bodybuilders you see in the magazines. Powerlifters can be very strong but not necessarily very big. It is very clear from your answers that you have absolutely no idea of what you're talking about. Bodybuilders train in a way to cause hypertrophy whereas powerlifters train primarily for strength.
@MALKINPWNS C/p'd from Chad Waterbury -10 set by 3 rep training utilizes a large load (>80% of 1RM). This load is necessary to recruit the FF and FFR motor units that possess FG Type IIB and FOG Type IIA muscle fibers, respectively. The aforementioned fibers have the greatest potential for growth. The total duration of the set is very short. This is imperative since the force producing capabilities of the FFR and FF motor units decrease at any time longer than approximately 10 seconds.
Fine deadlifting mate. Looked like you could've done 5 more reps.
to the rest of ya haters: so what if he's juicing? He's got a solid body, 80 % of you probably cant even handle that weight and to me it seems like he's a bodybuilder -> meaning weight doesn't ALWAYS matter in the sets.
He always does the douche pose at the end. I'm going to call this the "Dingleberry". I suggest you do the same. Bradley Dingleberry... has a nice ring to it don't you think?
@samrulz7 No, its really not. I can hit it for 13 reps and I'm nothing special. Hitting it for 15 till puts his max below 600 which in the world of powerlifting is not impressive in the slightest.
@MALKINPWNS Doesn't make this a 'feat of strength' though. Granted its decent for someone with a couple of years of decent training behind them, but this guy looks like he's either a gym vet or a roid monkey. Either way he should be handling more weight than that.
@x1Corona1x If you read the description on the vid its his last set, why would he max out when hes a bodybuilder? He's stimulating the muscle. If you know anything about bodybuilding that what really matters.
@MALKINPWNS You just contradicted yourself there. To build muscle you need to to recruit the maximum number of motor units to adequately stress the muscle so it over compensates. Just cranking out endless reps isn't going to make you grow. That means maxing yourself out whether over 3 reps or 15 reps. But that wasn't my point. I just said the guy looks like he should be able to handle more weight than that. 180kgs is a non weight.
@x1Corona1x Actually i didnt lol and i didnt say endless reps, your actually talking about strength and once again this isnt powerlifting buddy. To maximize muscle growth this means using 60% to 85% or 1rm and using 8-12 reps but i wouldnt expect you to know that lol.
@MALKINPWNS Sarcoplasmic hypertrophy is actually most prevalent in the 12+ rep range not the 8-12 rep range. Most guys use 8-12 rep ranges as they heard its 'well good bro' from someone on the mens health forum, Cranking out 8-12 reps isn't going to do much more than burn calories unless you select a weight that taxes the muscle to near, but not too quite failure. This guy clearly has many more reps in his tank. Furthermore, the deadlift isn't a good lift for high reps. He's just warming down.
@x1Corona1x hahaha do you have down syndrome ? you comment on this video trying to talk about strength which you have no idea what your talking about and then you start talking about building muscle which was obviously copied and pasted straight from some shit you googled. please, just so you don't make yourself look anymore dumb, stop commenting lol
@MALKINPWNS No, I speak with half a decade of trial and error in the iron game, and no, I wasn't the one spurting pointless percentages and reps from google. In fact the manner in which you phrased your reply to me indicates that any reader worth their salt should disregard your opinions presented on this video. And FYI, at the end of the day, strength and muscle go hand in hand. Enjoy your pointless trash-talking existence, as at the end of the day it appears thats all I've got out of you.
@x1Corona1x Strength and muscle don't go hand in hand. There are two types of muscle fibre which you will obviously not know about known as fast twitch and slow twitch or Type 1 and Type 2. Strength comes with development of the fast twitch (Type 2) fibres which are responsible for explosive strength repping between 2-5. Size comes from doing higher rep training anywhere between 12-20 and hits the slow twitch fibres (Type 1) which are used for endurance. If you argue, at least do your research.
@jilabi2010 Please don't accuse me of not doing my research, then pos a response using half arse research yourself. Both the muscle fibres used in hypertrophy are type two. Type 1 is only used for aerobic exercises. For more info T-nation always is a good source of non crap and has several interesting articles on the topic that may enlighten you. And yes, bodybuilders do tend to be very strong. Tom Platz famously could ATG 500lbs 20 times. I'm happy to discuss stuff this with non trolls
@x1Corona1x So I am said troll because I can argue my case and you are coming across as someone who knows little to nothing yet likes to spout large chunks of wikipedia. The topic doesnt need to enlighten me as I know and understand why the guy in the video trains like he does....... I'll await your very professional and highly amusing reply.

@x1Corona1x If muscle and strength went hand in hand bodybuilders would be stronger then powerlifters. Bodybuilding is about stimulating the muscle, do you understand that yet? (STIMULATING THE MUSCLE WILL MAKE IT GROW)The things that you say make me realize that i'm more knowledgeable about the sport of bodybuilding then you ever will be. With that being said you can finally stop commenting and maybe read a book and stop making false comments. Done yet?or do you still have useless info for me?
now ur trainin like a bodybuilder. dont be a moron and deadlift with 8 plates on each side tryin to impress people over the internet...its pointless really and fuckin stupid..leave ur ego at home before u call ur self a bodybuilder. technically u arent a bodybuilder if u dont compete so dont use that word..please
hes a fukin bodybuilder so its normal for him to pose at the end of a video where hes lifting weights. If it was a video of him walking through a park and he randomly took his top off and started posing now that would make him look like a cock. Plus ure just fukin jelous anyway if this bothers u, the guys impressive and its sick to see a guy his age looking this awesome!
@auntypimpom a belt is not necessary as long as the lift is done correctly... the back is one of the most complex muscles systems in the body and when all those muscles are locked in it work them more than wearing a belt b/c a belt helps keep them tight and lock them in for u by doing this ur back and core r not as use full on day to day basis doing daily tasks without a belt... in short terms u should really only use a belt on lifts u r a really straining on to get up, he obviously is not...
no this guys lagit Im NPC BB too. ok ZA1PP were not powerlifters we use straps for everything. the guy doesnt have to lock it out WERE NOT POWER LIFTERS!!! and ya the posing after every exercise looks dumb lets try to stay somewhat humble.
lol this guy is a stud fucking strong..saw him at ironman in a deadlift comp no belt..raw tearin up some huge fatboy powerlifters..after his lift i told him he was a stud and pretty sure the hot asian gurlie i was with thought so too...brad is strong straight up
Sory to h8 but that was shit, u need 2 lean bak further at the top almost like ur thinkin about curling it, like its ur bitch, and wrist straps yet no gym belt wtf
kk nice lift and good physique, would have been more impressive if you upped the weight and lower the reps, and didnt how off man (unless there was a hot chick), and straps are for people that want to workt their muscles and not their grip
what's with the fricken strap police on youtube? Did you ever RDL heavy in your life? The RDL is to overload the hamstrings, glutes and lower back, not the grip. When you have a heavy bar like that in your hands for a while, your skin gets torn, you can't hold on to even an empty bar after that, that's why there are straps...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hahaha how the fuck does deadlifting wanna make you flex your biceips. what a fag. You deff. racked up some douchebag points on this one. great job!!!!!!!!
haha me ignorant not at all man. just call it like i see it. and one i am a National champion and two i am going to the 2010 Arnold sports Festivel for powerlifting in Columbis Ohio. to compete so put that in your pipe in smoke it haha jk man no disrespect.
ill do this....no wraps....i think ill wear a shirt cuz im fat....im not on testostrone like this fucker....andddd yea just give me a few days mates. and ill use metal plates cuz this kid still works out at planet, dont think im hatin either i give the kid props but theres like 4325246 people that can do this
It's still a lot of weight, and I wouldn't be able to deadlift it myself, but he didn't fully lockout, not getting the full range of motion and not working all the muscles its intended on working, so really.. it's useless.
By doing them that fast he's basically putting constant tension on the lower back muscles. If he would lock out at the top or restart the lift at the bottom that basically gives a brief rest period for the muscles. So actually what he's doing is not useless.
@dougec Touch and go utilizes the stretch reflex and it also allows the lifter to bounce the plates off the floor. Both of these make the lift easier. It's called a deadlift for a reason. Letting the bar rest for a moment makes the movement harder.

kk nice lift and good physique, would have been more impressive if you upped the weight and lower the reps, and didnt how off man (unless there was a hot chick), and straps are for people that want to workt their muscles and not their grip
thegamexxx1234 2 years ago
ha, that was awesome. Keep up the good work.

your strong but why do you use straps? do you have a weak grip?
abayarde5 2 years ago
what's with the fricken strap police on youtube? Did you ever RDL heavy in your life? The RDL is to overload the hamstrings, glutes and lower back, not the grip. When you have a heavy bar like that in your hands for a while, your skin gets torn, you can't hold on to even an empty bar after that, that's why there are straps...

Good lift man. Good form. Good excecution. Weight belt? Also try doing deads with no sneakers on (trust me) esp for heavier weight.

Very impressive
vplane007 2 years ago
It's still a lot of weight, and I wouldn't be able to deadlift it myself, but he didn't fully lockout, not getting the full range of motion and not working all the muscles its intended on working, so really.. it's useless.
keeganz1 2 years ago
By doing them that fast he's basically putting constant tension on the lower back muscles. If he would lock out at the top or restart the lift at the bottom that basically gives a brief rest period for the muscles. So actually what he's doing is not useless.
dougec 2 years ago 22
@dougec Touch and go utilizes the stretch reflex and it also allows the lifter to bounce the plates off the floor. Both of these make the lift easier. It's called a deadlift for a reason. Letting the bar rest for a moment makes the movement harder.

you like this guy because he works out with no shirt on and that gives you wood
