I don't understand how that can be a thorough test since the alarms are only sounding for about a minute that is a three story building no way anyone could check them all that fast.
@phillies4100 The original Zans 400 motherboard was either set to continuous or the panel was set to interrrupted meaning the panel isn't doing the coding and it's whatever the jumpers on the wheelocks are set to. Most likely since it's doing Code 3 the SK 5208 is probably set to code 3 and the jumpers on the horns were either set to accept the panel's code or were set that way already
Correct! It's the 5208's mobo (Motherboard) in the cabinet of our old system, a Gamewell Zans400 I actually have the 5208's cabinet. When they upgraded it, the tech let me keep the cabinet.

@Gb755c I always thought the same thing. But maybe our local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) doesn't require a full NAC walkthrough… who knows.

what's "NAC" ?
paul9511 1 year ago
@paul9511 Notification Appliance Circuit.
NLind 1 year ago
How often are NAC tests done there?
Gb755c 1 year ago
@Gb755c Once a year (official inspection)
NLind 1 year ago

hey,NLind, you getting a panel at all?

Sometime I'd like a 4002/5208 maybe...

That Stopper sounds like the ones at Crotched Mountain school. (Greenfield, NH)

Is that a Silent Knight 5208? Sounds like it.

Are the MIZ's in code-3 too?
eddieeddieeddie13 4 years ago
Yes, because they are coded by the panel.
willbill808 4 years ago
Cool.
eddieeddieeddie13 4 years ago
Are they loud?
danll5 4 years ago
They're MTs set to Continuous, but the panel is now set to do Code-3 Temporal. Also there are LSM strobes (the one seen.)
NLind 4 years ago
Were You Able to Here the MIZs? or did he just set of that zone?
mallmaven 4 years ago
Since I stayed in that area and they only tested them that once, I only heard the MTs.
NLind 4 years ago
on a panel i think if u press all zones button it activates a fire drill
markfmark1988 4 years ago
I thought the Wheelock MTs had a delay, so it would do short little blasts in code 3, not full blasts like this.
willbill808 4 years ago
...and that's why the strobes were flashing temporally instead of steadily.
DVaccarelli1988 2 years ago
i think it looks like a wheelock mt
Trainman11185 4 years ago
even someone tested a strobe witch went on for 123 minutes
Dabura7 4 years ago
what does NAC mean?
brownguyrav2007 4 years ago
NAC (notification applience circuit) is were the FACP gives the power to the alarm.
danll5 4 years ago
OOOOHHHH, in the UK they are called sounder circuits!
brownguyrav2007 4 years ago
Cool
danll5 4 years ago
In your "Real Fire Alarm video" the alarm was in continuous.
eddieeddieeddie13 4 years ago
That's the MT-24WM
mallmaven60 4 years ago
I believe those are MT-24-LSMs.
Federal3t22 4 years ago
Look carefully at the strobe
mallmaven60 4 years ago
They even looked like WM's in the Real Fire VID
mallmaven60 4 years ago
Unless they are wheelock EH-ELI-WM's?Something with a 117c
mallmaven60 4 years ago
Correct. All of the NAs in the building have LSM strobes (15/75 cd)
NLind 4 years ago
Cool! I love the sound of MT's!
SilentXKnight5204 4 years ago
Well then you must love the sound of AS's too. ;)
