  • @e61807 i only click on videos and add them to my favorites if i like the songs, how my channel(whatever that is)spells them is out of my hands.sorry

  • I have a question that maybe someone can answer. I want to e-mail this video to a friend but even tho it says the e-mail has been sent it is not going to my friend. What am I doing wrong? I have a account with You Tube and I am signed in. HELP

  • I'm a longtime fan of Neil diamond and I love all his music. For some reason I tend to go back to this album over and over again to listen to his country side and I'm not much of a country music fan. Go figure. I LOVE this song. Well done Neil and Waylon Jennings.

  • This song is beautiful. And yes, IS, it made me cry. I miss you and love you.

You are forever in my heart. You made me know what real love is.

    Love Always,

    BD

  • Congratulations NEIL on being elected to the ROCK 'N' ROLL HALL OF FAME...finally

  • This song makes me cry, it is so very very beautiful. And Neil sings it with so much intensity ...sadly I just heard it for the first time

  • Sorry 54nomore it was old roban10 who disputes my claim to writing this song. My name is James C. Ronning (I have been knighted so sometimes my name may appear as Sir James or Dr. James C Ronning. I have the contract signed by Neil's record company at the time and the canceled check that the company sent me. But in my mind this song belongs to Neil and Waylon. Contact me if you want a copy of the contract.

  • @e61807 shame you dont write enough to recognise your spelling mistakes,or is that part of the ghost writers code as well

  • Takes every song and makes it better, with Jennings its stellar.

  • Hello Bluesbabesrv...Sorry but I am totally incorrect ...Waylon did not have a stroke...he had a Heart Attack and multiple bypass surgery...I am not sure when this was done but I do know that in this clip he was getting better and they were worried for him...Also his wife Jessi Colter was previously married to Duane Eddy....but they were soul mates...Waylon adored her and her him and they were extremely happy...Sadly he died in his sleep due to complications from his Diabetes...G`Day from Oz!!!

  • Just the best duett......

  • two mega legends whose voices compliment one and other brill

  • Two of the all time greats.

  • Dr. James C. Ronning wrote this beautiful ballad, and music by Neil Diamond. Like Neils "Lady Magdalene" also written by Dr. James C. Ronning. Neil also wrote the music. What a great collaboration and their lovely song couldn't of been given better voices then that of Neil Diamond and Waylon Jennings.

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for posting this is amazing!

  • This duet is so incredibly beautiful. They nailed it so perfectly--art imitating life as they both have such incredible marriages that they can't help singing the song straight from their hearts.

  • @sandladyvb

Neil just divorced a year ago haha.

  • What a blessed video,,,I thought about my wife through out the song cause she stayed with me thru my battle with alcoholism and I knew Waylon fought some things too... AA, Godly wives & Waylon and Niel. Merry X-Mas everyone.

  • yeah i miss his music so very much his album closing in on the fire a classic album in my books anyway .long live waylons music and keep it country amen.

  • That's one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

  • They are so great and this song is also very great!!!

  • @maryjulie2 i agree, i just love Neil Diamond's voice..

  • ~ Jessie Colter was Waylons wife and they were so bloody happy...she still loves him to this day...bless you both!!! ~

  • @maxtracah Any Idea when this was? I didn't know Waylon had a stroke but knew he had diabetes and lost a foot to it, later his life. An amazing singer, deeply missed :(

  • ~ TIMELESS!!! ~

  • Beautiful!! LOVE Waylon!

  • One of the most passionate duets i have heard for a long time..............Great!!!!

  • that's classic

  • THANK YOU AGAIN!!

  • FANTASTIC - THANK YOU!

  • Neil and Waylon phenomenon is that men get / got older, but their voices were forever young.

Unfortunately, in 2002 left the Waylon ...

  • I was there to see this one. A dream come true as Neil and Waylon are my favorite singers. They kidded around with each other the whole time--I never knew they had such a sense of humor. Yes Jesse was there--a very tiny lady and she was very very nice to me. I met Waylon a little while before his death--he was a good looking man too--W0W. I really miss Waylon--and Johnny Cash also.

    Cynthia

  • Wow, two great voices, such passion! Great post.

  • These two guys sure sang from the voice of experience esp. for Waylon who it took three times around the block before he and Jessi found each other. I wish Neil Diamond and Waylon had sung more duets together. They sure sound great together. Perfect pair of two great musicans singing their hearts out on a great song.

  • *sighs*....such a beautiful song, and the expressions on their faces...look in their eyes...convey so much....just love this song. Can't help giggling every time I see that woman with the crazy glasses though... lol

  • I believe the woman in the 'funny glasses' is Jessi Colter...Waylons' wife...

  • That woman, was the love of Waylon's life, and who rehabed him from nearly dying in 1972, his drug addiction and his stroke in 1997. She still loves him even today, and will be true to him until she goes back to him.

  • thats awesome we should all be so lucky to find someone like that

  • Absolutely true...G`Day from OZ!!! ~

  • Ahoy, GAbi and Mates, thanks for this duet, my scalp is reveberating w/ chill bumps.:)

  • absolut wonderful !!!!

  • brilliant, thanks for posting!!

  • you do some browsing stu and you will unearth a GENIUS

  • Wow. I have been playing a guitar and singing for almost 35 years, and I could not do justice to this song. These guys are great. Waylon, miss your music. It's a surprise to me, I never heard this one. What a pleasure it was.

  • Beautiful!

  • Amen brothers, there is no mistaking Ol' Waylon. I miss him too.

  • two great singers. i miss waylon

  • Me too! Big time!

    Waylon

    forever

  • Until I read Waylon's biography, I never knew he and Neil Diamond were friends.

This is a pretty good collaboration between the two of them, despite their different styles.

Jessie looks sexy as all hell in the audience (no disrespect intended) Thanks for the post.

    Whoop Whoop!!

  • So very lovely song with two great singers!

  • Such Power and Feeling in Waylon's voice.

    Such a beautiful song.

Accurate knowledge of Waylon's history makes you have a great regard for the man and puts real meaning to this song.

Memories of Waylon will forever play on people's heart strings.

  • What a beautiful way of putting it. You sure have a way with words! No one could have expressed it better.

  • Man...there's so much power and emotion in Jenning's voice... It just cuts you up and stitches you back up again!

  • Just extraordinary. They might be the two most underrated performers in American music history. Diamond does not get enough credit as a serious songwriter and vocalist. People talk about him like he's a kitsch act, but he's brilliant. As for Waylon, as much as I love George Jones, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Webb Pierce and others, I think Waylon's the best vocalist in country music history. Two immortals are at work here, and it's no surprise that it's beautiful.

  • what a wonderful song, it is the first time for me. I am also missing him a lot, I went to two of his concert and what a guy. RIP

  • Beautiful:-)

  • im only 22 and i absolutely love this song, waylon is a legend and its such a shame he's no longer with us. he still could of lived another 20 years or so, its just a shame his life was cut short r.i.p waylon

  • rip hoss

  • lady at 2 30 is jessi colter waylons wife shes nearly as good looking as mine

  • Buddy opened up the world for singer-songwriters like Diamond. Buddy did it all, wrote-produced-and played.

  • Anybody know who the woman is at 2:30?

  • That lady is Jessi Waylon's wife......

  • two legendaRy singers doing one great song...ohhh yeahhh

  • what year is this

  • this is such a fantastic version of waylons singing talent...it really showcases the beautiful sound that usually came out of his mouth...miss ya waylon!

  • wow.....that was a treat.

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!

  • Beautiful song, by two great singers. Neil Diamond has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl.

  • He has been my favorite too since 1966. What a great duet and beautiful written song by Neil Diamond. Waylon Jennings was such a great singer. Too bad I came aboard late. I now listen to his music often, and I must say the lost was mine. He was truly gifted, and talented and gracious as can be. Miss you Hoss..

  • You all can thank Buddy Holly for both of them!!

  • How did Buddy Holly help Neil Diamond? I know about Waylon, but not Neil.

  • wow great vid, thankyou soo much. To see 2 great singers together made my yr. xxxxx

  • that wasn't lucie arnez, it was jessi colter, waylon's wife.

  • What a great song sung by the a Legend. You are missed Waylon.

  • was that lucy arnaz in the audience/at about 2:45?

  • awesome song, with two of the best singers

  • It took awhile for me to know. What I was looking for. Every heart I ever known, just left me wanting more One good love. Could turn it all around. Take hold of a restless heart Lead it back to solid ground. You could search the world for happiness and never get enough. But all we really need to find is one good love. I followed all life's pleasures. Where ever they would lead. But, someone I could treasure is all I really need. One good love.
  • Turn it all around.

Take hold of a restless heart,

lead it back to solid ground.

    One good love.

Can take you to the light.

But, just one touch, you can forget a thousand empty nights.

You'll search the world for happiness.

    And never get enough.

All you really need to find

is one good love. I guess this is something we all want to achieve in our lifetime. It's that One Good Love. Hopefully someday we can all achieve this-It surely will make for a better world. What a dou!!

  • This is a beautifully written song by Neil Diamond. His other songs on the album "Under the Tennessee Moon" are just as good especially "Under the tennessee Moon" about the late great Hank Williams. What a special talent ND is and here w/the late great Waylon Jennings doing "One Good Love". It can't get any better then that...

  • sounds great

  • Oh, Waylon, how I miss you. Such a good pairing. Thank you so much for posting. Now I get a good cry.

  • Greatness goes so well with Greatness...

    damn I miss Waylon :|

  • great song wish you were here waylon ...

  • I'm impressed.......these two sounded really good on that song.......looks like it was taped at the Ryman.

  • ...awesome video...their voices blend so beautifully together...and I love the sincerity in their eyes as they sing. Does anyone know when/where this actually took place?
