Well, there's a reason behind the "NO MEAT?" thing. During the German Occupation, our grandparents (who were children back then) were starving, so they learnt how to appreciate food. A little piece of meat for example, was heaven to them. This way of thinking never left them, so they keep transmitting it to the new generations. My grandma for example, gives me something to eat every 20 minutes. You see, they still have this subconscious fear that time of starvation might come again.
