  • I haven't cried to a song like that since I listened to Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead.

I'm not tied to a religion but if god exists he most definitely manifests himself in music such as this.

  • absolutely devastates evil

  • Flashback

  • it's EBOW time!!!!

  • hahahahaha

  • @koooldude7 MY HERO

  • Best Sigur Ros track :)

  • I'm jackin off right now as I listen to this

  • @koooldude7 that is sick minded dude...

  • @koooldude7 chill bro lol

  • @koooldude7 yea i dont think any one cares you dirty bastard but if any one is wodering im rockin a shit right now

  • @koooldude7 hhahahahahahahahahahaha made my day.

  • lol I feel bad for the people who disliked this, they must have a terrible taste in music.

  • ART OF FLIGHT

  • @youjoshd movie brought me here!!! this is epixxx!!!!

  • best sigur ros song. largely overlooked. btw...the idea of a blank booklet isn't cute, t's appropriate

  • I went to see them in concert when i was about 16, best day of my life and i'm so glad i caught them before the hiatus. When this song came through in the progression i cried my eyes out. Then i smoked a joint sitting on the floor and reassessed my life listening to Glósóli. I still get shivers every time i hear any one of these masterpieces like i'm sure most people here do. As buzzinginourears said, you feel it in your bones, it's like your soul aches.

  • Sigur Ros are the only band I feel in my bones, not just hear them with my ears

  • Comment removed

  • this song will be played at my funeral, I'm only 18 but I've decided this since I was 10

  • Oh! so this is what I was hearing when I was being born.

  • If there is a heaven... IT will be playing sigur ros, every wonderful second.

  • There is no words for how beautiful this song is.

When I listen to this song, I become the music. I become the song. I become the instruments. The drum is my heart beating. The instruments are my breath. The song is my thoughts.

And it all together is my soul.

  • extranice ~/\~

  • So glad there's an add to kill the songs vibe. Ridiculous. Keep those on the pop videos.

  • Thank you English Teacher, for showing the class this song.

We have to write a poem about it and interpret it the way WE think it's suppose to be.

    best english teacher ever?

    I think so.

  • @TheAngryMarshmallow4 Wow, my english teacher did the same thing for us! except he showed us untitled 1. ( he showed us the music video). Thank you English teacher for introducing me to so many great bands, with out you i wouldn't even be listening to music right now!

  • no. e-bow is what they use in the song , i think :S

  • I gotta meet the four people who dislike this. Show yourselves!

  • <3

  • The best things don't need means

  • First time I saw this band was in an obscure documentary, depicting leading edge music world-wide, over a decade ago. They saved Sigur Ros for the last segment of the feature, allocating a disproportionate amount of time to them. Seems obvious why, as they caused me to do some quick, albeit indepth research on the source. Withing two weeks I owned all their CD's. I'm good with New Age/Post Rock(for lack of a better description), but generally prefer less amorphous tracks. Great Stuff!

  • thanks to my friend Stephen, he introduce this song to me... it's awesome!

  • wow great! the sounds like 6 feet under the ground

  • Radiohead vs Sigur Ros

    DONT MAKE ME CHOOSE

  • Just found this song today and have been listening to it while studying for my finals. The song is calm and mellow and there are no lyrics to distract you while concentrating. Great song for studying and on its own.

  • It's like listening to God sing to you.

  • don't wanna be the mom, but Jonsi actually uses a real cello bow instead of an ebow. Just sayin, any way you gotta love the music

  • @DarkAngelEU Thank you! I was just about to point out the same thing. There are other videos on here called "E-bow," and I can't figure out why...

  • @mcordes102 apparently this song is also called E-bow, just thought of it.. The band actually had titles for the songs, and untitled 6 is called E-bow, because the bassist uses an e-bow in this song. My fault I gues ^_^

  • This song is just absolutely amazing in every way.

  • you never believed in me, i'll show you what i truly am. listen. listen.

  • oh Majestic.......this is when music reaches the Pinnacle of Excellence.....

  • They say Slow Riot For New Zerø Kanada by GY!BE is the greatest EP of all time

I believe this is the greatest theme-based album of all time

  • the very best

  • Basketballerke I must give you credit for a video that really does capture an amazing song. I love at 6:36 when the video really captures the power of the song. It makes me want to go to my knees as well!

  • I wish Radiohead and Sigur Ros would tour together sometime. Very similar bands in every respect.

  • I pretty much always listen to death/progressive metal stuff but man this shit is awesome. Just cant stop listening to them.

  • @peaceman1665 Same here. They can craft some seriously emotional melodies.

  • not only is this album amazing, but it is a totally structrually perfect piece. just a set of theme and variations. and when i use the word just.... i mean totally perfect. tthis band are the best ever

  • Jonsi does not use an ebow, he uses a cello bow!

  • @legniak1 E-Bow is the name of the song!

  • @legniak1 sorry for interrupting but in this song Georg uses an e -bow that's why it's called that

  • Some of their songs are sung in what they call "Hopelandic". The Untitled ( ) album is sung completely in this way. Jonsi uses his voice as another instrument and it allows the listener to make whatever meaning they want out of the singing.

  • So beautiful it hurts

  • Están tan cerca de los dioses...

  • No puede haber alquien con tanta belleza. Si Sigur Ros.

Esta canción tiene una potencia desmesurada, tonos muy bajos, y termina en lo mas alto.

    Nueve minutos de placer.

  • Sigur ros makes music like no other. No music touches your soul. I well up with emotion when hearing most of there songs.

  • My absolute favourite, What a music!

  • Nyctaglia......not even close to as good as sigur. Check out Stars of the LId if you want to listen to the masters. Especially Tippys Demise.

  • i'm dreaming

  • @theametista80 ME TOOOOOOOO!!!

  • Amazing song..It has such a dark, atmospheric but at the same time beautiful Atmosphere..I love this song so much..Incredibly breathtaking...!

I thought this also might interest some of you..Some days ago I found a Band called "Nyctalgia" here on youtube...You should really listen to their Song called "Falling into nothingness".

It's beautiful, and definitely deserves more attention..trust me..

  • stop going through every postrock track on youtube and spamming your band.

    thanks.

  • @minitual

Nyctalgia makes good stuff (totally independant comment)

  • @999TorturesAposida at least put the tag "shameless self promotion" beside this......

  • most beautiful...it means so much to me...

  • sigur ros speaks directly to my soul... 1 day i'm gonna make a beautiful film to their music.

  • sticks and stones mate, sticks and stones, and i promise you i definitely will do a beautiful film and dedicate it just to you !! preferably a film about an idiot being strangled

  • You mean a snuff film? I don't think those qualify as beautiful.

  • GO away troll.

  • i trol u.

  • Go Ahead SIGUR

    Change My LIFE !!!!!!

  • The songs do have names, 'Untitled' is just what they decided to name some of them. I think they wanted to leave the title names blank so the song has more meaning to the listener.

  • Sigur Ros goes hard

  • haha classic comment man...classic

  • the BESTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • Why don't the songs have names?

  • The songs have no titles and the lyrics are not even in a real language. They did this because they want YOU, the listener, to interpret the song for yourself. Make up what it means to you. For this same reason, the booklet that comes with the CD consists of nothing but blank pages, one for each song, so you can write or draw what you think it means.

    I think that's cute :>

  • That's pretty cool. I never knew that.

  • @Areskelian the lyrics are in a real language... sigur ros are from Iceland. its just not english.

  • @soccrdrew98 Although they are from Iceland Areskelian is correct. its not really any language.

  • @Areskelian I think you'll find the language is real, it's Hopelandic.

  • @Areskelian this is a real language? its called Icelandic, look it up.

  • @TheTMVProject no...it's not a real language. they created a language, hopelandic, that is basically gibberish. you can look it up on there website.

  • @GJordanG if it isn't a real language then why is it on google translator and when i translate their lyrics the words make sense

  • @TheTMVProject what song are you referring too? because they DO use icelandic in many of there songs. however, for this specific song and the untitled album, they don't use words. seriously, the say it right on there "about sigur ros" section on there website.

"sigur rós released their third album in october 2002, entitled ( ). the lyricless and titleless album was a darker, rawer and less accessible follow up to ágætis byrjun and came out to favourable reviews around the world."

  • @GJordanG so what your saying is albums after this they use icelandic?

  • @TheTMVProject all i know is they incorporate both. it's beautiful either way though, don't you think?

  • @Areskelian, I know your comment is old, but actually they sing in Icelandic -which is a real language.

But the rest of that is a beautiful thought, they are amazing :)

  • @Cruciothekitty27 They do sing in Icelandic, but not on this album. This album is in a made up language, 'Hopelandic'.

  • @Cruciothekitty27 Hello, this is Areskelian again :)

Yes, they do normally sing in Icelandic, but not on this album. All the vocals here are wordless.

  • @Rahuruk Whopps, on my brother's account... goddammit

  • They don't need names.

  • 6:34 and on...

    So epic.

  • sigur ros will never stop amazing me. i dont know how they write music like this. its not just listening to it, it brings some kind of comfort to me every time i listen to them. they are the eigth wonder of the world...

  • To me, this is what Sigur Ros videos should be like. Instead, they're always about children. I do not picture children when I listen to this music. The videos take away from the music, distracts from the music. This video does it right.

  • This song is so unbelievable beautiful..

It was the first song that really made me cry...I was in the train and listened to this song..the more I heard it the more my eyes filled with tears..It was strange, I didn't know why, but it was the first time something like this happened to me..

It's a breathtaking, magical and misterious song..Sigur Ros are simply great..the best band in the world for me...

I also do music..melancholic and slow..maybe some of you would like it..it's on my channel..

  • oh you cried? waaaaaah its so saaaad!

I'm just fucking with ya. I love this song too, I think sigur ros is one talented band. very different and the sound is indeed unique and beautiful. I love chilling out to these tracks.

  • Sigur Rós always comes up with amazing music. I can't believe how they can build a both sad and beautiful song.

  • Favourite Sigur Ros song. Beyond Words

  • Everytime I listen to this song I have to shed a tear. I don't know why... it's so beautiful, magnificent, but it sounds so much like a farewell to someone beloved

  • The ( ) album is my favourite album of all time.. I have not had a day go past without listening to it!! This track is one of the best off it.. It grows on you more everytime you listen to it. God Bless Sigur Ros..

  • I love how a lot of their songs are sad but uplifting too. It's just how you interpret them. But man, what a great song (and album) this is...

  • heaven must be so wonderful.

  • This must be one of the most powerfull and emotional songs of all time. Just cant stop listening to it.

  • This song just, wow I have no words.

Its so emotional and beautiful. It always makes me want to cry.

  • favourite song all time! ♥

  • wonderful Song of Sigur Ros, they have created a great style and make dreamlike songs.

Their music is not overload with instruments and arrangements. The songs have a very delicate development, it is wonderful.

  • Entire song is good. But 6:35 is so amazing, kinda like super epic.

  • masterpiece.

  • from 6:35 to the end is soooo tearful. i cant stop it.. :(..

  • This song is so powerful. It gives me the chills. I just close my eyes and listen to the music. But for some reason.. I'm getting all teary. This song is amazing and I can't stop listening to it.

  • Hmmm... I don't know why, but I don't like this song that much. I have no idea why, but I mostly like untitled 1,3,4, 7 and 8. The other tracks I don't like quite as much as these. But still, I would never skip the tracks, since I love the album as a whole. It's very strange.

  • Me too.. but you should also check out 2 and 5. 2 starts out interesting.. but yeah, get's a little repetitive. 1 is my all time favorite.

  • They say the same thing thru the whole song?

  • sorta. its hopelandic, gibberish. Jonsi sings the same nonsense syllables in different orders. The idea is to make the voice an instrument just like anything else.

  • degenerate....

  • genius....

  • the best ending in a song ever.

  • THATS SO TRUE!!

  • no band can ever live up to this band,

this band give me tears everytime i hers them,

this is how music should be, should sound!

i love sigur ros i cant thank them enough!

  • I couldn't say it any better. :) Cheers to Sigur Ros!

  • listen to some of mogwai,

    similar sort of lengthy, minimalist......beauty

  • i love this song, i love the video. so hard to make a video for this - harder than for any other song perhaps - but this is the only way to go. i think the fireworks are particularly inspired. well done indeed.

  • Escuchar esa música en el invierno boreal, en Islandia con ese frio...guau!!!

  • wow, respect for You ;) excellent video

  • uh, yeah, that's 'lush', not 'luch'. i am sure people get it, all the same. ;)

  • are these even human beings making such luch and grand, worshipful sound? i have often thought them to be angels or some such stuff, but that is selling ourselves short. alas, it is we humans who are capable of such beauty! what can we do to make more of our kind aware of this fact?

  • I know I've commented before, but since then, a lot of stuff has happened. This is practically the only band that can get me through the day anymore. The emotion mixed in with the well timed drum beats, and this mysterious language (at least to me) completely memorizes me and I just can't, for the life of me, turn away when I hear it. Their music is something unlike everything else. And that is a bloody good thing.

Thank you for this video. This song really means a lot.

  • Simply the greatest band of our generation, I hope you are doing well.

    Peace.

  • They performed this song last night at the Greek Theater in Berkeley - I nearly cried. One of their best songs off ( ) album. Sigur Ros, seriously one of the best bands.

  • I remember listening to this for the first time. i had just bought the album, I locked myself in my room and put my headphones on listening from beginning to end.

This song came on and then at 6:34 I just ... I don't know.... i can't describe it.

    It's incredible!

  • This video is mesmerising. Seriously good job on this like - normally when people attempt making films to sigur ros they end up looking ridiculous but this is really really good.

This is my favourite piece of music by sigur ros, and as such my favourite piece of music ever, and your video complimented it brilliantly.

  • carina,davvero rilassante...

  • Makes we want to kill myself, makes me want to live

  • this is so awesome! i can't get enough of this song! its so beautiful and sad... i love this band! the vid is great 2!

  • Beautiful and sad memories.........<3

  • Men o men!! <3

  • wow! this video was awesome! it goes really well with the music. this song is my favorite sigur ros song. man, i wish i knew more about this band. i wish they would come play in Los Angeles. oh, man, they make me really really wet!!

  • i can`t belive this

i heard it but i can`t believe it

    simply marvelous.

    ok. bye bye.

  • I LOVE this band...they make beautiful music...when I listen to it, I usually forget what I'm supposed to be doing...

    -looks around- like my homework...XD

  • kill yourself

  • Beautiful again,& again.......

  • hauntingly beautiful, as you said.....
