  • Lovely clean tones from this amp, which perfectly compliment the Tele. I recently bought an Epiphone Blues Custom 30 amp on ebay, for only £200 which has to be the bargain of the century. Just the most fantastic sounding tube amp, with tube reverb and tube-driven rectifier - good enough to rival most top-end Fender combos, for peanuts. Try one if you get the chance. Incidentally, I own a Mexican-built Strat, and I love it to bits, both for tone and playabilty.

  • well , i've played this amp for about 2 years (was young and unexperienced ). at the beginning it was great, but by the time i discovered maany disadvantages...it works well for practising at home but in a band it doesn't work very well. the sound is far too thin in my opinion. especially when the other guitarist plays a real tube amp ( i know u can't compare this :D )

so i think it is ok for practising but that's all. but i have to admit : in it's priceclass it is worth it

  • valvetronix.....does this react well with distortion pedals and effects pedals?

  • Evildemonllama has it correct. . I know I took the factory tour!

  • Most "tone" is just in your head. If you're expecting something to sound bad you wont play it like you should.

  • do u recommend this amp?

  • @maxikronnont

yes this amp is amazing and you should defently get one im geting a VT100 i love this amp:)

  • Well young man, great tone there.

  • It ain't the guitar - bad players make good equipment sound like lousy equipment all the time.

  • Tele > Stat.

  • Love your playing. Shows much "taste" something that a lot of people have only in their mouths. If you get my meaning.

  • i have almost the same setup just with the vt15 instead

  • I love teles :)

  • It's not that the squire guitars are bad guitars. Mexican standards will hold their own next to American standards any day. It's where the guitars are made, and whether or not you want to support dependence on foreign labor, and whether or not you want to be sure that your guitar wasn't made by 9 year old Mexican orphans in some sweatshop.

  • great sounding ,good playing

  • Gotta love Squier... decent guitars at cheap prices. And the Vox VT.. becoming a fan quick. Nice playing..

  • Is the amp loud enough for band concert in high school theater?

  • yeaaahhhh

  • did ur valvetronix logo fall off? lol mine did but i just glued it back on i love this amp i have the ad50vt and its nice

  • this guy is pretty sick.

  • strings are D'Addario?

  • Did you hear that? :-)

  • agreed - this guy is a superb guitar player

  • Forget guitar, but Your playing is excellent!

  • JAM ON BROTHER! "NICE TOUCH". Tell me how to set up for a decent sound when posting a guitar/amp demo. My computer mic alone just dosent get it. Thanks

  • Your sound is only as good as the weakest link in the chain. Start with a real mic and interface.

  • Which squier tele is this and is it stock?

  • congratulations

  • i got a fender mexican standard tele about a 6 mounths ago and i am just getting more and more impressed with it

the action fantastic and the tone brilliant when i plug in to my vox vt-30

    only £400!

  • Sigh, I bought a mexican strat (which I love) but now i regret it kind of, cause i just love the telecaster so much more now

  • i have a vox AD120 XL but i don't like it so i'm gonna sell it and buy an all tube amp.

  • GREATPLAYING

    5**********

    smpt=SEEMYPAGETOO?

  • Eveyone wanting a good telecaster, the American standard series are the best ever for 1200 or so. If you want a cheaper one, the next best guitar is the sqier vintage vibe blonde tele for 350 bucks. It's seriously comparable to the American ones. Must buy.

  • @EPICFAILSAM dont forgot Japanese fenders! They are much closer to American fenders than everybody thinks

  • that is true but the squire classic vibe blond is the best value guitar on the market hands down. It is just a good guitar.

  • @mikey380sx They are probably better.

  • @ridesdeepsnow I agree! Have played and owned one or two american teles/strats....still prefer to buy the japanese ones :-) and they are cheaper so its all round win really

  • why do u still use squiers if youve been playing for 7 years?

  • Maybe for the same reason I still use an Ibanez S-Series and have been playing for 10?

  • This made me smile, man. Nice playing, great sound. I will check out the Squier Tele.

  • Very nice !!

  • I think the difference between American Fenders and Mexican is the little american flag sticker on the pickguard. I have a Mexican Stratocaster and it playes like an angel, and sounds like one too.

  • They are also made by mexicans.

  • American Fenders are also made by Mexicans. They just so happen to be in America.

  • yeah I got a mecky strat built by Jesus or inspected by him! Hell they built the pyramids. I also have a mexican strat that John Lee Hooker gave to a family I know. It's got some serious juju. I keep it on a stand in the bedroom for writing and to play sans amp when me and my lady are watching TV. I have an American strat I use for gigs and teaching,a custom burl wood maple tele that John Caruthers built in the 80's. it has a lamenated neck making fret jobs as expensive as a new guitar.

  • Haha , so true evildemonllama. We can almost say they are chinese or korean because of the quality of actual american series...

  • Lol so true

  • @evildemonllama How many times have you been to the Corona, CA plant? Zero I would guess cause I have been there many time and no you racist piece of shit, its not Mexicans. AMERICANS are making the products. I know you are just an ignorant retard making racist claims but do you honestly understand how stupid you make yourself sound???

  • @evildemonllama Really, now?

  • @evildemonllama i know its ignorant but i dont care. i like seeing made in corona california on the guitar because it comforts me. they are still better guitars anyways (usually)

  • @evildemonllama first of all, everyone uses that same goddamn joke on every video where anyone mentions ANYTHING about the Mexican teles. Second, you're implying that people care about where it was made because of race, which is not the case. They want the signature tele sound and you will definitely get that from an American Standard. It's just that they make them better, it's got nothing to do with Mexico. That's not to say the Mexican guitars are shit but they're not really butter.

  • i have a fender Mexican Strat with seymour Duncan Hotrails in the middle and neck and a seymour duncan jbjr in the bridge...i love it...but you just cant compare it to the american made ones....the american mades are a whole lot higher end...you cant really compare the two...i mean the mexican strat is awesome but its still not the real deal...

  • The magic is in the fingers, not the gear. Something I learned long ago.

  • That's so true. Some people think a "cheap" guitar won't ever sound good or that an expensive one will always sound good. Not true, I have a good sounding Squier, and I have heard some trashy sounding Fenders.

  • thats true, guitar genuises can make a self built guitar sound like its worth thousands and a crappy player can make a 5 thousand dollar guitar sound like its made of rubber

  • and ive also heard some trashy squiers its all about quality control they make sure the fenders are better than the squiers for that exact reason so they can sell em for more money...what would be the point of makin a squier stock better than a fender and make it like half the price...

  • I can't argue with that, Quality Control can be better on a lot of Fenders though, the Mexicans and even some American from the early 90s. But it is the same with everything. And the reason they can make good Squiers for cheap is because they're made overseas. So labor and such is cheaper, much like the Mexican ones...

  • true :)

  • @Soujurn No, the magic isn't in the fingers it's in the eyes.

When you see a "Fender" decal on a cheap copy it may sounds like an original Fender.

I can't believe that anyone can hear the differnce between a vintage guitar and a new one when you hear it on a record or in a band.

  • @Soujurn True, But A Crappy Amp And A Crappy Guitar Will Make You Sound Like Crap!!!

  • Not neccesarily. A fine player can make a cigar box with a couple of rubber bands sound good.

  • @Soujurn right, but gear matters though :)

  • @Elimnio +1. It is both, but the old guys always say it's 100% fingers. I say why not both..

  • @Soujurn But nice gear helps...

  • i have never heard better tone from a squier guitar, good job dude

  • LOVED the ending.

  • Nice playin man, keep the vids coming.

  • Forget to amp and guitar. You are excellent!

  • Very nice gear you got there. I got the AD30 version and a customized Mexican Tele. Suberb demonstration.

  • Good sound! gratz..

  • do you recommend both the amp and the guitar? this exactly what i am thinking about buying.

  • You can get the mexican fender tele for about 500$, and it's pratically the same sound as the american one

  • You are a great guitarist!

  • I'm sure u love the squier, and that u have some higher quality guitar, but if you dont have a better quality one, GET ONE, YOU DESERVE IT (no offense to the squier). You are really good, man, didnt make that of an effort there and still said a lot. great job.

  • The beginning of that little thing is awesome. What kind of chords are those? Awesome style though dude, i like the mixtures you do

  • Very nice, duno what strings you have on but try some good strings if you haven`t already.

On my strat i tested 2 vs 8 bucks strings and it was a huuuuge difference.

Try some "Pyramid" electric guitar stings if you can find em.

Drop in some nice Pickups and you`ll have a completely different guitar.

  • hey dude what setting do u have yours?

i have the smaller version buts it the same..

so whats the setting? also nice palying 5 stars

  • i've always thought the sound of the vox is too sort of "scratchy" to my ears.

But this is only taste because it has a good sound - just not warm enough for my taste.

    great playing!

  • vox ad50vt still go for around 500+ instores and are good to run a cabinet out of! no soo cheap :P

  • They go for $379 at Musicians Friend.

  • @rotren Now seeing them used for 150 on Craigslist. Got mine for 160 2 years ago

  • Goes to show you don't have to spend a ton of money to get nice tone. Great job.

  • its a vox

  • best amp i've ever owned. nice squier, too. there's a lot of people wasting a lot of money out there! this pair sounds great.

  • Do you you if this guitar is made out of alder and maple+rosewood?

  • great sharp and clear tone! and very nice playing

  • B E A Utiful...

  • Are you using the stock pickups or hv ur installed other pickups?

  • Totally stock pickups on this specific clip.

  • any guitar no matter how bet up or old it is! a vox amp will soon give it some life again. what other amps could not do. an sg sounds great with vox. dont mind yur friend.

vox are the best amps by far. the tone is so authentic n sweet.

  • whoa its that big? thats cool. i might consider getting one. does anybody know how it sounds with a gibson sg because my friend said gibsons dont work with vox well.

  • Haven't heard any Gibsons through a vox. But my friend's Epi SG sounds great!

  • Why wouldn't it sound good?

  • hey im his friend :)

gibson (humbuckers), like the les paul, offers a thick tone. The natural tone of the ac30's design give a thinner twang sound. just my thoughts

  • do you think ad 30 vt get the same sounds

  • Yup! it sure will man. Maybe not as loud- but yeah, the exact same sounds if you have a similar guitar..

  • that sound great for a squire

  • Very very nice sound man- I've got the exact same amp, 50 watt tho... looks like yours is too. My epi les paul broke, so i think I am getting a highway one tele to replace it..

    cheers

  • Save up the extra $300 and get get a Standard. You'll be happy you did later. :D

  • you could get one of them re-issues they sound just as good as the actual ones from back in the day.

  • a standard? waht you mean? AC30?

  • Telecaster.

    AC30's are good too. :)

  • ho ok.

  • should i get this or the Peavey Bandit 112?

  • This definetly!

  • que bueno viejo, es un gran amplificador , yo tambien tengo ese mismo y tengo una fender tele nashville deluxe con tex mex pickups te felicito!!!!

  • lovely tele tone.......

  • that was nice that is a squir tele so that proves guitar playing is all about the play not guitar

  • don't leave the amp out of the picture ;) A bad amp can ruin a good guitar and a good amp can make crappy guitar sound good...

  • :) amazing

  • can you make some combo so that it sound like death metal on the ad50vt?

  • I think so - yes

  • Great playing! You really make that amp sound great. Are you using a mic to record, or using the line out? TIA.

  • Lovely guitar and playing

  • Great classic sounds on the vid. What's the strength between a stratocaster and telecaster?

  • Preference really, teles are usually used for blues and country guitar strats are used for almost anything, saying that sometimes teles used for metal etc. personal preference.

  • What?!

  • Oh Don't forget strats are used for blues as well the only thing is teles aren't as versatile as strats.

  • I think it's pretty much a matter of personal opions. I think the Telecasters are more versitile.

  • Taking it further, the versatility of some SINGLE-PICKUP guitars is amazing. Just look at the Esquire.

About the video : Good snappy tone, neverdying Tele feel. 5/5

  • You always get good sounds from cheaper guitars !?! Are they modified ?

  • Thanks, no this one is completely stock.

  • These "Cheaper" Guitars as you call them are wonderful! Call me ghetto or whatever. I love my cheapys. I get smokin tones out of em. Try some out. You'd be suprised.

  • Well, yeah.I play a '95 Chinese Squier Tele that the prior owner had modified w/AVN p/ups, insert brace, new tuning heads, and a beautifully worn w/ filthy sweat, maple pickguard. I love it. The strings don't go through the body, either. I just dislike the bridge. It needs ala wrench adjustment (height) more than I would like. i need to get a new bridge. But, through my early 90's tweed Bassman re-issue, 4x10 jensens=lovely.

  • A great guitarist can get good sounds right from his fingers!!! that's simple!!! :)

  • This guy knows what he's talking about.

    Rare thing on the youtube.

  • great playing! i am trying to decide between the ad30vt and the ad50vt...would be for home playing...not sure if i should just go for the 50 or will the 30 suffice? Thanks!

  • I should go for the 50, I have a ad30vt and when it's volume is about 30 watts or something it really sounds like crap.. my mate with the 50 watts doesn't have this when he turns the power all the way up: the sound stays very smooth

  • I had an AD30vt and traded it in after i played around with the Palomino V32. This amp really kicks. You should check it out.

  • nice amp i just baught a Vox AD100VT today and, its absolutley everything i hoped and dreamed...sucks it didnt come with the footswitch, but other then that its just an all around awesome amp..i also play a Telecaster but its a Telecaster Thinline 72 reissue...i think thats just a great combo, guitar and amp!

  • Valvetronix are the only solid state amp that sound good. They have a tube in the preamp 12AX7, and it makes a huge differece, despite what some say. If you put a better 12Ax7 tube in, it can absolutely transform this thing. i reccomend the 30. The 50 w/ 2x12s is not in stereo.

  • Isn't the 30 a 1x12 combo?

  • will adding a better tube to my Ad15vt really make any difference?, I'm short on cash so any mods I can make to improve tone without dropping too much money would be nice

  • Nice. What made you chose solid state over tubes?

  • I didn't choose it over a tube amp - it's a complimentary amp to my tube amps. Easier to get good tone at lower volumes too.

  • I see. I'm looking for an amp that I can get nice blues and jazz sounds out of. I'm setting it up in my room for just my own personal enjoyment so I don't want anything too overpowering. Do you think this amp is suitable for what I'm looking for?

  • Yes, or the 30 watt version.

  • Thanks. I like fuller sound you get with 2x12 combos so I'll probaly try the 50 watt version. I like the fact that you can adjust the wattage /power output to suit your needs. Nice feature.

  • the 50 watt is only 1x12... at least mine is

  • they do make a 50 watt 2x12 as well.

  • sounds very good what kind of elements you use

  • It's all stock. Celestion Seventy-80.

  • when i´m done with the military service ill go out and buy one! played it once and fell in love immediatley

  • I hate the look of a tele, but what a sound :D

  • Accidentally removed the last comment - sorry! The question was about how loud the amp is - well it depends on how loud your drummers is. If he/she isn't insanely hard hitting, it should be fine.

  • Nice! Really like how you threw in those chords.

    ===

    Canadians for Ron Paul!

  • how tall and wide does the amp stand? thats 50 watts ryt? would you say its LOUD?

  • Yeah, it's a pretty loud 50 watts.

  • nice tele tone..

  • some one likes fender but hates teles?/ what a nim rod

  • that's so brilliant... I want one!!

  • What are the settings on the valvetronix? if you don't mind?

  • Sorry, can't remember. It was Tweed 4x10 I think.

  • ey! sory im not speaack much english, -

waht amp would you recomend AD50VT o a marhsall Mg50?

    thanks!

  • AD50VT

  • pretty good tone, could use a little more bass presence. what tune are you playing? or are you just rocking out?

  • Just playing whatever comes to mind. This gear is very inexpensive - stock Squier and stock Vox Valvetronix.

  • sounds great. and for everyone bashing the telecaster - ted greene got monster tone from his. he could play rings around yngwie anyday

  • Shredding is for assholes.

  • very nice dude, very nice

  • you can play any style on any guitar. Stop that crazy talk! It's all about the amp. A good guitar can play ANYTHING!

  • My opinion is that a strat would have sounded even better for this type of playing.

  • Telecasters pwn all.

  • I find Telecasters to be absolutely ugly. I love anything Fender, just not a Tele.

  • who the hell cares what the tele looks like, it sounds amazing.

  • just shut up you said enough stupidos

  • and then someone says " Violins FTW!"

    lol

  • you would be surprised hardcore music bands use tele's

  • Glad I found your video. I've been wanting to hear a Tele through a Vox Valvetronix. Nice job of picking on that Tele as well.

  • more reverb!
