Firefighters knew WT7 was in danger of collapsing hours before it actually did. There are numerous quotes from firefighters to verify this. It was at least a couple hours before it collapsed that the chief gave they order to pull out.  It is not unreasonably that the media heard this story and got it wrong. And finally why, would the BBC be given a script???

@ewokmusic The suggestion that it was prepared in advance just defies logic to me. NIST (National Institute of Science and Technology) spent years investigating WT7. They came up with an explanation that matches all the available evidence (including the free fall thing) and I've yet to see any truther say what NIST got wrong. They can't. And no, none of my friends believe it was an inside job. I wish at least one or two did so I could have fun debating them.

Again NIST provided an explaination that fits all the evidence and the only counter I've seen is that it "looks" like CD. @LordDavidVader i am not an expert in such science..but from wat the experts have presented, steel does not give way to normal fire, as u know when u BBQ..the thong can be in the charcoal for hours, but it will not melt or break cos it's melting point requires VERY hi temperature, which the charcoal fire can never attain..so same here for steel beam with the normal fire...and WITH FIREPROOFING as u mentioned yourself, for the steel to burn, it requries EVEN higher temperature. just my 2cts

It's silly to even debate this. It is a proven fact. If it didn't weaken there would be NO reason to fireproof it. Your hot steel tongs have most certainly weakened being left in the fire. Luckily they only have to pick up a steak not hold up a building.
