  • This ending makes me wanna cry. This ending is full of emotion. This SHOULD have been the ending, and it upsets me that it wasn't

  • The only disney princess who doesn't get her man >__<

  • You too Thomas!! SHUTUP!!!

  • "gee Nakoma thanks for the guilt trip"

  • 1:23 TARZAN??????

  • I thought I wasn't going to cry. but I was wrong. Best movie EVER!

  • HOLY CRAP! I prefer this much much more than the original. So heart breaking -/3 in a good way!

  • If there are any Disney execs out there, listening, the next time you release this movie on DVD or Blu-ray, please, please, PLEASE, include this version of the reprise. It is so much more beautiful than the one on the last re-release.

  • I love the music rendition of the finale better in this version then the final one that's in the film. Love this!

  • Shutup Nakoma!!!

  • Why would they delete the song "If I Never Knew You"!!! Its the best one!!

  • If all Pocahontas and John said to each other were the lines "Empty as the sky / Never knowing why / Lost forever if I never knew you" it would have a st ronger effect than what they had in the SE version. It always makes me sad to hear them sing those lines. Maybe because my fiance isn't here with me.

  • Where are my 90's kids when I say this was the way this movie ended in our heads? None of this silly "historically accurate" nonsense...

  • I like this ending a lot! But I love the movie ending because it's not so jumbled and complicated. It's simple longing between Pocahontas and John Smith. The swelling of the music at the end always gives me goosebumps!

  • if Nakoma didnt say anything Pocahontas might have gone with John

  • @TheStarSwag Yeah; that part ruin it ¬¬ But the rest is fine; i'm wondering why they just change this

  • @tomoechan100 yeah i agree this part is soo beautiful it would have been wonderful in the actual movie

  • I like this idea better and this should be in the diamond addition?

  • @HollowAkasuki I hope it is, if they ever release a Pocahontas diamond addition.

  • WTF! First they cut the song and now this! I think that with that two things the movie have been a lot better!

  • omg i love this!!!! they should have kept it!

  • I cant belive im saying this but they should change the ending to this, they just have to!This is one of my favs and i think i would love it even more if this was the ending,i was balling!!!!!

  • I have to say that I liked this version better than the final version. I especially loved the way how they were singing the last lines of the song to each other while they're taking him on the ship. Much more emotional and compelling, in my opinion.

  • THank GOodnes they rid of the singing and of course her friend's advise! terrible!!!

but.... by the way... really well-drawn-storyboard!

  • This pulled at my heartstring....Literally. I love the movie, but I think that it wouldve been much more successful if they kept this finale and the original song.

  • As much as I love the song I think I wouldn't have liked the ending as much if they used the extended version. The finale is one of the main reasons I love this movie.

  • Aww I love that

  • Damn it Nakoma!

  • I like this ending better, they should have kept this song and the reprise so much sadder.

  • Damn! If they just took out that savages song and made room for the "If I never knew you piece" Than this would have been the strongest ending in any of the Disney films! Such an opportunity....LOST!

  • I say that in the original movie, they should have at least included them both crying during the kiss. It makes the scene so much more effective. By the way, the bird's name is FLIT.

  • This, my friends, is my favorite Disney movie of all time. Just thought I would throw that out there :) Anyway, I'm glad they cut this part out. And while I absolutely LOVE 'If I Never Knew You', I'm also glad that that was not included in the movie. It just goes to show. Disney really knew what they were doing...

    ...back then.

  • Nakoma's lines... My, what I friend. I'm glad they didn't keep them. And, If I Never Knew You works better with just the two lines from the 10th Anniversary, it means so much more than them saying it all x3

  • I wish Howard Ashman lived to do Pocahonatas with Alan Menken.

  • @vinnielegostudios I'm not complaining about Pocahontas, it's still fantastically realized. Stephen Schwartz is the closest Disney ever got to having another Ashman and the songs on Pocahontas are amazing. Though Howard would've probably fixed some story elements.

  • @stitchcastle Really. But which elements in the story would bhe fix like putting in The middle of the river song?

  • @vinnielegostudios well, if Ashman was involved, then all the songs would be different since he would write them and he would have been able to inject more fun into the story and by fun I don't mean more meeko and flik.

  • @stitchcastle Ok I understand now. Oh and the birds name is Flint.

  • I like how the chief says "you must choose your own path", right after her friend totally guilts her into staying

  • I like this version of the ending better. Especially for Nakoma's lines. Some of it they should have kept. Either version, it always makes me cry

  • This made me cry more than the official one. :'(

  • Amazing!! I loved the drawings too!! Thanks for sharing =D

  • I hate If I Never Knew You (the movie version - the credit version is fine) Mel Gibson cannot sing at all. So I'm glad they cut the song out. The ending would've been so cheesy with it in.

  • I cry every time they sing "If I Never Knew You" :')

  • Omg i balled too this amazing, they need to come back with like a 20th anniverserey edition with this ending its soo beautiful :)

  • the FULL reprise is absolutely wonderful. they should have left the whole thing in. actually, i'm happy they even left PART of it in the 10th anniversary version, bc it reinforces just how much they mean to each other.

  • @OtakuGuruGirl09, 2010, Disney's Pocahontas A New Musical! C'mon people let's make happen! Seriously! Late's make it happen! I WANT TO SEE THIS ON BROADWAY! This is so beautiful, Judy Kuhn is so amazing! 2:18, I get goosebumps every time she hits that note. Perfect!

    :)

  • OMG i bawled when i saw this , they should have kept it .. amzing just disney, absolutly amazing!!! <3

  • I've heard the song before but to see it with the storyboard just gave me chills and I had to sing with it. I love 2D animation so much and Pocahontas is just wonderful in every way

  • I love this...see I always believed the movie revolved around the song, "Colors of the Wind" and how John had to look at life differently. But now I see it as a more romantic love story. Why do they take the good songs out?

  • 2:50

I don't care if that was just a storyboard. I GOT CHILLS WATCHING IT.

  • Still gives me goosebumbs! The live action actress (for animation reference) actually cried while acting this scene out for the animators.

  • Yes, she actually did - according to the Audio Commentary of this movie.

  • The ending gives me goosebumps all over!

  • That is the most sadding ending ever!

  • I CRIED THIS IS TOO BEAUTIFUL FGSG. <3

Oh god the drawings and THE SONG OMGOMGOMG they add lyric to that beautiful little them oh gosh I'm just so happy weeeeeee

  • everytime, in the movie or now, i have to cry...this is so wonderful, im in love since my childhood.

  • 3:18 she had the most expressif face f all the disney characters. Each of the disney Princesses was a girl, she was a real soulful woman.

  • @andromache007 ya bcoz she's the only disney princess who doesnt get her man!

  • Comment removed

  • really, for a rough version, this is just wonderful drawn!

  • this should be the next disney on broadway

  • very true, i agree, i love this so much!

  • @OtakuGuruGirl09 I agree. Aladdin and Hunchback of Notre Dame are coming to Broadway, so why not Pocahontas? It would be a tear jerker, that's for sure.

  • Oh man this is going to make me cry

  • This is stunning. I really wish they'd left the whole thing in. The reprise is nice, but the last few lines emphasise just how important they were to each other, without which, the movie doesn't mean as much. D:

  • That's true, but at the last few lines, Pocahontas' voice overpowers John Smith's and eventually drowns his voice out completley, which is probably why they didn't restore it in the 10th anniversary edition.

  • This movie has THE MOST powerful ending.

  • When she sang "empty as the skiess.."

Got chills.... let's hope Frog Princess brings Disney back to its former glory.

  • is there an instrumental of this? please post..

  • AHH just listening to the AUDIO of this makes me cry. Soo beautiful!

The full song actually makes it A LOT sadder. But maybe we need that!

  • What I like best about this video are the drawings, especially from 0:43 to 0:48

    and 3:19! Wonderful!

  • ugh i hate the second one it dosnt deserve to be a sequel to this beautiful film well lets hope that when she was sailing off in the sunset with john Rolfe shell never forget those beautiful lines they said to eachother "no matter what happens ill always be with you forever"

  • Nakoma's lines put me off, just a bit.

  • I just realized that the instrumentals are different here. I love this video. ^^

  • I'm personally glad they cut out the song, mostly because I never found it fit in with the rest of the movie. I liked her friend's telling her to stay though

  • They should have left ALL the reprise in the ending. It's much better.

  • This is so rare. I've never seen this before. Thanks for posting. My movie does not have this song on it.

  • Gah, stupid Nakoma!! This was beautiful, though... does anyone else think that the ending of Pocahontas would've been just as beautiful, poignant and bittersweet if John Smith had died? Like, they could've sung that bit of "If I Never Knew You" before he took his last breath and it would've been sad, but so beautiful at the same time. Pocahontas is definitley one of the greatest animated films of our time.

  • Except that would compromise the story of the historical John Smith & Pocahontas.

  • True, but it would've worked in some ways because with that godawful sequel, Pocahontas II, they ruined the love story in the original movie.

  • I almost cried when I saw this, especially when John Smith and Pocahontas sing, so touching.

  • sigh...i prefer this ending...not so much her friend begging her to stay but the parts of them singing

    i love that song

  • i think they should have used this and the "if i never you" song while john was tied up in the tent

  • Yeah, a duet between the two would have worked...

  • wow

    i love storyboards...

    this is so cool

  • i love the ending on the 10th anniversary dvd but they should have absolutely kept this ending! it had me bawling... sigh... totally hit me once the singing started.

  • wow, thats amazing

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE

  • Wow this is just BEAUTIFUL !!!

    Grea drawings.

  • Hey, where did ya get the file with this vid? Is it possible to download it somewhere? I know it wasn't on 10th Anniversary, cause I've checked all the contents of both discs and there was only short reprise put into the movie, but not this short vid. :(

  • This is on the Laserdisc CAV "Gold Box". It has a bunch of stuff that isn't on the 10th Anniversary ste and visa versa.

  • omg....so emotional. easily one of disney's best ever endings and characters. <3

  • This is so beautiful and sad. I think I need a tissue. This would have been great in the movie. I started to cry when they kissed their goodbye kiss.

  • Pocahontas always makes me cry so much. It's such a beautiful movie, so real, I love the ending.

  • i know! bravo, bravo!i love the part when the curus sings the Rhythm of colors of the wind

  • but i didn't get it and i've never seen this b4..is it like some extra scene that disney made but then cut it and just kept the one that we all know?? the colored one i mean.. and if this a new version ( coz i heard people say 10th anniversery nd whatsoever but never knew what it was) then when was it made?

  • Well, 10th Anniversary Edition of the movie is special one avaible only in the USA (or at least I think so). It's two-disc set, one disc is containing the movie the original realise (the one known from the cinema) and the new one, including the If I Never Knew Yuo section cut before. It was cut, only cause kids were getting bored with this romanitcal part of the movie. but the IF I Never Knew You number, was done during the production of the original movie.

Hope I help ya, at least a bit. :)

  • aha..ya you did thanks alot, and really lol at ur name..kamahontas, it's like poca's sister lol

  • Aw. I love it so much! I wish they had put this in the final movie. Its so beautiful.

  • I soooo wish they had included that final reprise! They had some of it there in the 10th Anniversary, so why couldn't they put all of it? :(

Anyway, this is incredibly gorgeous and it makes me cry!

  • i remember when i first saw this movie.....i was itty bitty....and i turned to my twin sister and said "how can she catch up to a boat?"

  • Man, why did they cut the reprise? This scene made me go all teary... *sniff*

  • Actually I liked this version better than the final. It's more compelling and much more emotional

  • I love the extended reprise of "If I Never Knew You". It adds to the passion of the scene.

  • This was a good version
