This video is just demonstrating the obvious that the ipad 2 is faster than the kindle, that's a no brainer, everyone knows that. I want to see if there is any functionality that the kindle fire cannot perform compared to the ipad before deciding on a purchase. Please advise.

Why does everybody hate on iPads? First of all, this video (and any other videos comparing the iPad to a Kindle Fire, Nook, etc.) is a complete waste of time because the Kindle Fire is an eReader, not a tablet. @JaredCleghornVideos kindle fire is not made intentionally for reading books(though it can read books just like the ipad). The kindle fire IS A TABLET. I think your mixing up the Amazon kindle FIRE with the kindle TOUCH/KEYBOARD which are made specifically for ereading.

Helpful video, but comments are a waste of time for the most part. Wanted review as an ereader and guess most want the device for gadgets and games we get on iphone and computer anyway. For a difference of 400 if I want a smooth device that I will love to use, guess will wait and budget for ipad 2. Quality trumps for me. comment about buying 3 KF must love quantity. You can multiply your annoyance with the bugs & flash ads by 3.

The Kindle fire delay for startup is because it doesn't start until you release the power button, unlike iPad. If you just pressed the Kindle power button then it would get to the splash screen first because it doesn't make you wait 3 seconds.

i think the main thing that this video isn't considering is that you can buy 2 kindle fire's cheaper than one ipad2, thats a huge price difference. ipad2 may be a tiny bit better in terms of quality and performance but as far as value for money goes, its a long shot behind the fire

@250call Nothing beats iPad? I'd say the Galaxy Tab 10.1 does by a good margin. Better screen, OS can do WAY more, it also has a Kindle app, everything does... even WebOS, it's nothing to brag about. I would stick with the Ipad and not get the Ipad 2, simply because their isn't much of a difference between the two, yet you'll pay somewhere between $100-$150 extra for the Ipad 2. For those who don't mind the price differences I say get the Ipad 3 once it is released. Ipad's are very worth the price, so much more you can do and it's faster and nearly every aspect.

@ianwk2011 There is a huge difference between the two, WAY faster graphics processor and much faster processor. Games run much better, apps generally faster, the design is obviously better on iPad 2, you get a better screen, two cameras for facetime. If you want an iPad, get the iPad 2. iPad original is not faster than Kindle fire in every respect, it actually has much slower parts. Also you can "do more" with a rooted Kindle Fire. Not saying it's better, but it runs Android.

Give amazon time to take user opinions into thought. Many of the issues are simple software fixes, like slower silk browsing, scrolling, lag when switching from landscape to portrait, etc. Its a great device for its price and a big jump for an electronic reading book. Lastly, all i have to say is that the fact that it supports adobe flash is amazing and this device is a steal for the price. Give amazon time and im sure they will have software updates coming. im getting this device tomorrow!!!!!!
