@ChrisAFM No, it is still a linear game. But there are "nodes" where there is a limited sandbox experience and large gameplay areas to give you some choices in how to play. However, you are still restricted to these areas (nodes) so you can't go wandering off all over New York like you could in the island in the first Crysis game.

Fundamentally a different kind of game but I am slightly optimistic that Crytek won't dumb it down too much.

Yeah, when I got a hands on demo, I shot a full clip at an alien. Took cover to reload, turned and kicked my cover (car) at it, and it was gone.

The bastard had quickly manuevered up torwards me by hoping over and around cover. I was able to kill it by punching it a few times. The first punch it delivered to me almost killed me.

These bastards are smaaaaart.

@peanutismint In Crysis 1 you couldn't use more than one power at once, and there is an energy bar; some powers always detract from it, some only when moving. The powers from Crysis 1 were Speed, Stealth (makes you invisible, excellent for going ninja), Strength (makes you jump high and throw people far)and Armor, there might have been some more, I can't remember.

@peanutismint The suit automatically recharges. Howerver was Numberz (I'll call him that cause I'm too lazy to copy and paste his name) was saying only applies to Crysis 1. Crysis 2 has all the modes together except stealth. :( Not to tactical anymore.

@HiddenNijaNZ that's what i was thinking aswell, there are, as they said, multiple forms of 3D, you have the normal stereoscopic 3d, which indeed all tv's support, but there's also even better 3D, for which you'll need a 3D tv and a playstation 3 (only ps3 has that feature built it seemingly). i hope crysis 2 also supports the normal 3D effect, because i can't afford a 3D tv atm

The First Crysis is only for PC,

And now Crysis 2 is also available in PS3 and XBOX 360.

Which means ...

It is made to be lighter and more playable than the first one.

Because Theoritically,

a PC with AMD Phenom II X4 or Intel Core2Quad with Radeon 4890/5850 or Geforce GTX 460/465 should be more powerful than PS3 & XBOX360, since both of those console use Technology from 2007 (Early days of DX10).

So if it's made to be played in both console, a PC with THAT Spec should handle it with no problem

@billyasik lol for me it would be okay if they pushed crysis 2 to december 2011, if that meant they'd be able to push even more out of the hardware. it's hard to get most out of the 360/ps3 and pc. since they all have a diffrent limit. they said that the games basics will be the same on all platforms, but the diffrences in detail will obviously be there. for me i'll go with the ps3 version (normally multiplats looks better on 360, but their engine handle's both consoles, ps3 has better graphs)

Some part of the video was played in german, so that's why the nanosuit thing sounds odd. The AI thing..was probally played on Easy or on Normal. This video was probally played on the 360..so thats why graphics is kinda low. This video just shows a LITTLE of the gameplay, I bet they're more better levels. Let us not forget not to judge before rating. I hope this delay will be worth it. I'll try to like Crysis 2 as much as possible.

@rafal045 Have you seen everything from Cryengine 3? No! So don't hit on it allready. I have been at GDC and it looks AMZINGLY better. Just wait, they are allways updating the engine. I asked Cevat Yerli why it looks better now and back in 2009 it didn't. It was because it was in it's very early stages and they are adding more and more features to it. 3D without perfomance loss, more destructibles, better particles and indirect lighting for example.

@GodInGames They didn't downgrade anything. It is true that Crysis is now coming to consoles, but they said themselves that they always wanted to make a console game. Along while themselves wanting to maintain the highest graphics/tech in the industry, they created Cryengine 3. Their new engine doesn't mean new graphics. It has Live Create, and it automatically optimizes the gameplay and graphics across ALL 3. Code once and your done for all. The game play is all the same.
