Ignorance. How can rappers that rap about violence teach people about stopping the violence. Matthew 7:18 A good tree can't produce bad fruit(works), and a bad tree can't produce good fruit. 19. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. 21."Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my father.
hey yourmother3232 u r so damn correct, u r so correct, n e way krs 1 is the best to ever do it, public can say what they wanta, say big, like him, pac love him, lil wayne hate him and i am from new orleans, krs 1 is real true, activist type old school hip hop.
lol gangsters saying to stop the violence,,maybe the gangster ATTITUDE needs to stop, and thats only going to start with hip hop artists not by making some stupid track..still talking like asses , calling eachother niggers, and talking about the hood lol
No he would be Commissioner of the league, preserving and overseeing with trust to hand the culture over to a successor which has yet to be seen or paralleled either lyrically and in a leadership role.
i only like that The Game and Chamillionaire are ok for this song but come on man, Nelly, Chingy, David Banner and Fat Joe that's some wack sellout shit man yo KRS get yourself together have you forgot Nas, Ice Cube or Talib Kweli and other real artists.
obviously he consideres Nelly, Chingy, David banner real artists. and honestly this has nothing to do with "real artists" it's about stoping the violence, please tell me what being a "real artist" has to do with trying to cut down on violence?
If he called on mcs like Dead Prez and Akir then he would just be preaching to the choir. The whole point of this is to reach the hood and actually STOP THE VIOLENCE.
If I was KRS-One I wouldn't take those bubblegum rap sellouts to put them on the whole track. I understand it needs to be heard, but,he should've taken more talented Emcees like The Last Emperor,Mos Def,
I remember there was a website years ago called self destruction 2 dot com. and it had a list of all the artists who were going to do the new version - it was HUGE! Public Enemy and Blackalicious were two of the many artists on the list. What's odd to me, is they sampled Flava Flav saying, "Rock that $hit, homey", from a PE joint, but PE doesn't appear to be in this new version. What's up with that? I still love KRS, though - he's a LEGEND! Hope the new cats learned something from him. Peace!
dude, chill. we need the guys with the mass appeal. Heavy D was involved in the first one and he isn't one of the GOAT, but he had all the mass appeal at the time. that is the point of it all. it needs to reach a wide audience. no matter who is in it it is still the Stop The Violence Movement. it can't be done wrong unless someone contradicts him/herself.
lol he telled he bringin everyone from the underground to the mainstreem dour research man he bringin all its just a short list here gonna be Planet Asia gonna be huge he tryin to unite all to STOP THE VIOLANCE

I wouldn't be surprised if these fake rappers
would front like as if their in for the change, but then they back in the studio and start talking about money, bitches and cars.
He should've called for more REAL MC's that talk about real life issues and problems like Dead Prez,AKIR or atleast Supernatural.

KRS-ONE = KNOWLEDGE REIGNS SUPREME OVER NEARLY EVERYONE!
This is MONUMENTAL. Much Needed Music for the people to hear at this time. We gotta be soldiers for PEACE.
The artists that choose to be on this track are REAL...that act can erase some of their misdeeds in the past. So don't hate, Congratulate!
If your favorite MC's not on this/or support it...then he is not for the upliftment of US.
