  • "Don't forget to pull down actively through your hip flexors when squatting down to your computer!"

Is that supposed to be funny? Not so much. I was not trying to "crush her spirit". It's simply frustrating how much crap is out there in the media when some of us are trying so hard to get the RIGHT information out there. It's already hard enough, w/o the "beginners" on TV posing as experts. Our field is full of BS and those who contribute to that BS, however inadvertently, need to be aware of it.

  • I haven't disgraced myself at all. I mean really, you people are ridiculous! You post a vid that's a HORRIFIC rep. of KB instruction and then you're incredibly sensitive to the comments. Don't put yourself out there on TV and the internet if you are not willing to absorb the possible negative comments. I am sorry I "hurt a brand new instructors feelings". Maybe next time the brand new instructor will think twice before appearing on TV and posting the vid 4 the world to see.

  • I'm sorry you feel that my way of expressing my opinion was inappropriate. However, this is not a forum to critique people's motives, goals or expressions. This is YOUTUBE! There is so much crap on youtube, it's unbelievable. You are opening yourself up to public criticism when you post a video here. Grow up and stop attacking people who use their right to free speech.

  • Well, if an instructor is a beginner, might we all agree that they are not qualified to be representing the subject on television? Would you also condone a white belt teaching this woman how to do kung fu on TV simply because they have are "talented" and have an "understanding" of the subject matter?

  • @jacisparrow a white belt can't teach kung fu because there are no belts in wushu/kung fu/gong fu/kuoshu. belt systems aren't intrinsic to Zhongguo(ren), at the most there are now sashes

  • Also, I'm curious as to what you consider above average ability? She obviously had no concept of hip extension or how to achieve it in any of the exercises. Giggling & telling her to tighten up her butt & abs obviously wasn't enough to educate her on proper form. Even when she did the snatch, her back was hunched over and wrist extended. Not to mention-a 16kg? REALLY? Why would you start with that!? Odd. Try not posting your videos for the world to see if you aren't open to criticism.

  • Fellow...you really need to get a life besides making criticisms about others especially when you have no published reputation or basis from which to make such judgments. It appears as if you have learned a few things and are now the authority on the subject.

The fact that you claim to be of the Hard Style really targets you as the typical meat head who thinks that Kettlebells are a complete stand alone system relating to strength, conditioning & fitness instead of just a component.

  • Honestly, why put your vids on you tube if you are going to be so touchy ab criticism? That's a risk you take, and it seems you people are not able to take any criticism. First of all, I am not a fellow, I am a female. Second of all, hardstyle has nothing to do with meatheads, it is a term used to distinguish RKC from the girevoy sport. Don't assume to know what my training methods are. I was simply commenting on the lack of seriousness of the video. I would rather be a meathead than a joke.

  • I'm commenting on the VIDEO. After all, that's what you tube is, not the content outside of the video! Just because you were trained by an "expert" doesn't make you one. Perhaps the expert should be the one getting exposure in the media and not you? The news reaches out to so many people, and your piece made hardstyle look like a big joke. I have no desire or reason to ever come to your class, as I am surrounded by educated and experienced instructors. Better luck next time!

  • It is sad that you feel you can judge based on 5 min. of EDITED tv. Ms. Harris was stretched, warmed up, educated & coached in pre-hab. skills and proper body mechanics - obviously only a fraction of her time with me was shown. Only after dem. above avg ability did we attempt a snatch - which she ult. did quite well. I was trained by an expert and as an instructor I strive to attain the high standards of safety and efficient movement he held me to. Come to my class and then pass judgement.

  • Wow, this is ridiculous. Not only did the instructor have no idea what she was talking about, but who in the heck teaches a snatch to a newbie? To me, that's just negligent and unsafe. And then the chick almost drops the bell on her head and the stupid instructor just laughs?! This is the exposure kettlebells are getting in the media? How sad, how very, very sad. What a complete disaster.

  • KettleBELL not BALL. Oy vey. Isn't news about accuracy?
