I think the music takes you into an inner place, and gives you a space within yourself, certain people who are not comfortable inside themselves don't like that, kind of like being afraid of the dark, but there is gold and beauty in that darkness, too, leads you in to a place that contains everything at once, beyond and can't be measured by mere "evaluations" of progressions..etc. Listen with your heart, not your head maybe?
