  • My mum actually met Sally James and spoke to her

  • that has just made my day !

to hear that Sally James "'Takes it in the face" @1:15

Not exactly what I was hoping for,

but hey it's better than a poke in the eye

(or is it nearly the same thing. ?..)

  • Ha ha views of Birmingham Centenary Square before it was block paved!

  • I had a TISWAS annual. In the letters page there was one saying "I love TISWAS but my dad says he'd like to see more of Sally James' chest"

The note underneath said "Your dad is in for a treat if he turns to page 78"

The book only had 76 pages.

  • This takes me back more years than I care to think.

  • Brought back some great memories, thanks.

  • 30 years later and this is the song that pops into my head??? I may be insane.

  • You just have to pity those who watched the Other Side. I always did. I grew up on this and Thanks for You Tube so I can show it to my kids!!!!!!!

  • @ceffyl13 Where I lived, even if we watched ITV at 10:30 on a Saturday morning, it would be an old war movie - no Tiswas for us people in Tyne Tees-land (or Tyne-Wear, as we called it) - started the movie at 10:15 and just left it!

  • im just trying to play this on the piano... wish me luck oldies! xD (im 12)

  • Chris Tarrant was just pure random-bucket-of-water-throwing anarchy :)

  • I really, really, REALLY want Bob Carolgees' trousers.

I am 22 and grew up on my dad's TISWAS VHS. It's a shame not more of it survived, kids TV now could do with learning something from TISWAS. Who decided it all needs to be educational and safe?

  • Ok, every bloke who used to watch Tiswas & fancied Sally James something rotton, give me a green thumb.

  • Sally James in her boots Mmmmmmmmm

  • @Dannytheheadhunter

My English teacher in the first year of secondary school looked like Sally James. I'm trying to resist the temptation of cracking a cheap double entendre with regard to her comment at 1:20.

  • i've been watching lots of these tiswas clips and i've not seen the fantom flan flinger anywhere anyone spoted him yet.

  • I wasn't familiar with this as a kid. (I grew up in another country.)

I think it's great. Thanks for posting it.

  • I used to have the lp- I wish i could get it on cd- I saw a tiswas stage show around 1980

  • There's only one minor problem. Its not funny.

  • @StanPomeray its was when i was 6 lol

  • This is due for a re release at the end of November on a Tiswas album!!Bands which were featured in the legendary show and a couple from the Four Bucketeers album....Including the rock classic BRIGHT EYES by Matthew Butler!! :-)

  • I always used to get the bloke in the dinner jacket confused with Arthur Scargill.

  • I danced around the computer desk! Tiswas rules!!

  • Sally James - WHAT A BABE !!!

  • I work with someone who went to see the recording of the Tiswas Reunited show last year - I am officially jealous of that guy. Mind you, he only went along because his missus was on the show many years ago. Sally James is 100% fit here as indeed she still is today! All together now... 'This is the song we lovers of water sing' I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! Haha!

  • Wow. I was the perfect age to watch this, but live(d) in the USA - dammit!. I guess the US kiddie show guys shot their collective wad with the Banana Splits. We imported lots of other ITV shows back then, why not this one. Ah, well...

  • This is what is called propper TV not like the C**P you get on a saturday morning now.

  • i remember this one when i was about 8 , yes the bside was smello, funny memories , cant believe this is on here

  • The B side was called Smello The Incredible Stinking Man

  • us scruffs watched tiswas whilst the posh uns watched swop sh*t.

  • Sally James takes it in the face, fnarr fnarr

  • Just the best!

    Such memories!!

Like "Nice one Cyril nice one son, nice one Cyril lets have another one"

  • Shame I wasn't born in the 60's. Ah well. I saw Tiswas Reunited. This is one of the funniest songs I've ever seen.

I was in the cage for the Tiswas Reunited show and the show will be on air in the UK soon, so petition your mother, father, crazy uncle, anyone and everyone. THIS MUST BE NUMBER 1 OR CHRIS TARRANT WILL ATTACK YOU WITH A BUCKET OF WATER AND A CURRY SPOON! Petition any one and everyone, let's unite in our love of water! THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT!

  • What about the dieing fly?

  • "This is what they want!"

    Ah, happy days!

  • Yet another classic written by John Gorman (of Scaffold - 'Lily the Pink') fame. John Gorman has gone on to do some ace directorships and TV productions. Methinks this could be a re-release for Comic relief 2008?

  • i fooking love tiswas more clips pleeeezzzer

  • absolutely awesome,bring back tiswas

  • had did they get away with all that water in a tv studio? was no one ever fried?? the mind boggles!

  • Health and safety didn't exist back then!

  • Sally James is a total foxx, then and now...

  • "We take it in the face"
