In Japan, there is a regulation train must completely stop within 600m. 120km or 130km with higher braking system is the maximum speed to clear that regulation.
Maybe not- it's not the fatest in Japan, but in the UK most people experience narrow gauge trains travelling at 20-25 km/h, so this is positively supersonic by comparison.
@Korschtal Most people in the uk will never see a narrow gauge railway let alone ride on one!!! the uk is standard gauge....some private lines are narrow gauge and because they are in private hands they are restricted to 25 mph.
I am not sure, but everywhere in the USA is different. In California, the HUGE Amtrak Diesel Electric trains go about 140 km/h (80 MPH) but I cannot recall if its narrow guage track or standard guage. The trains in Japan are better!!!! :)
the 120 year old Philippine National Railways has the same train speed like Japan. even though it is narrow gauge, the trains here can go up to 120 km/h same as the speed in the video. the difference is that the rails in japan are continous welded (quieter and no gaps between tracks) while here is rail joint (cheaper but noisier than cwr)
sorry but i dont know much about the philippine railways and i dont know where you can get other info about this....japan railways is soooo beautiful compared to the philippine railways...
The regulation is only applied for ordinary lines having crossings.

There are narrow gauge trains in Australia that travel at 210km/h.

Not really high speed.(Queensland, Australia) has the fastest narrow gauge train, the Tilt Train, and has been clocked at 210.6km/h on a test run)

If it's in the US I reckon it's standard gauge- I've njever heard of a narrow gauge AMTRAK route, but I could be wrong...
