I walked down those steps after Flamelurker and could see the Dragon through the fog and thought 'SHIIIIIIEEEET'
It's barely a fight at all though, at the end where you attack it's horn I approached very slowly and even applied stick white stuff to my spear, you just stand there and poke it though with no fight back.
@MrUltimate9000 You take off your armour at certain points to increase your movement speed.Very useful in dropping down to fight Flamelurker for example.
dragon god would be impossible to kill if he was smarter, its a bit unrealistic really, such a big ass head, u would imagine there would be a big ass brain to match it, but then again dinosaurs were massive and stupid

@Sulberto as if this isn't the easiest. you barely even have to do anything to this guy. with fools idol, if you get frozen and there's about 3/4 of her ur gonna take alot of damage. But i would put fools idol as 3rd easiest, adjudicator would be 2nd.

@DoomlinkWasHere My opinion is based on the fact that i died many times against dragon god because his attack pattern seems so random to me, or at least i couldnt get the hang of it. I killed fools idol twice and both times without taking any hits or one at max (twice because first time i forgot to kill the guy who resurrects her after killing).
@Sulberto well, you shouldn't get hit once if you hide behind the pillars and use a ranged spell to break the rubble infront of you. It's all about being careful in this game.

@kalloused Watch his eyes. Yellow means he is looking for you, red means he has spotted you and is launching an attack. Just unequip every item not necessary, and wield your weapon in both hands. So, you see his head moving around looking for you. When he is looking left you have the max time window. Sprint to the barrier, hit it twice with R1 (stamina save) and it should break. Sprint towards the next pillar or back to your last safe position. Eventually you will get through.

Agreed with everyone else, this boss battle is fucking retarded. Every other boss I beat by the skin of my neck through my own skill. This is just a giant platformer with instant death applied to it and the platforming in this game is absolute ass. I've died more times falling than to actually being killed by an enemy.
No, if I kept dying to the enemies then I would suck. There are tons of areas where the platforming is incredibly shoddy, the shortcut pit which leads to the Flamelurker is a good example.
@RamboStu that part was tricky actually. and some of the poison swamp level was tricky. i dont know if i would say its shoddy though. well, the path to the flamelurker was, but thats about the only thing i can think of. however, if you were careful, you could do it without dying, so i dont know if i can actually call it shoddy rather than just challenging since its completely doable if you are careful
agreed, the platforming elements in demon's souls is far from optimal, and is one of the worst aspect of the game.
The problem with the platforming is: players had difficulty gauging the survivability of a fall / drop till they experience it themselves thru trial and error... The lack of a jump button makes platforming seem more like an after-thought as well.
yea this boss is easy if u got a high hp and arent stupid. I used water veil it helped alot when the dragon god hit me with his flames, alternativley u can use warding for when he punches you, all in all not a hard boss should have been alot harder tbh ... 5/10 =[
I've beaten one of the worlds so far, but I decided to look up wiki's and videos, and all of a sudden I'm bombarded by information that tells me about so many things that need doing during a specific tendency, and I don't even know how to affect or change it. Please help?
@Latooni11 World Tendency allows you to unlock certain areas/events/items based on whether its pure white or pure black. It also determines how hard the enemies are, white=easier, black=harder. If you beat bosses, the world turns whiter, if you die constantly as a human it turns black. You start at neutral (grey) for every world, but it changes accordingly to gameplay. For specific information I recommend the Demon's Soul Wiki.

Hands down the only disappointing part of this game. I expected an intense, level spanning fight with this guy, not two spears to the side and a WA POW to the chin.

I always thought the best equipment was Dragon bone smasher, purple flame shield and full brushwood Armour, fully charged with primal demon souls the smasher could reach about 2k attack with single stroke.
So it's not just mine that freezes when he smashes at the beginning of the fight.
This game is insanely difficult, I started as a theif and got stuck at this one point so I started a royality and got to were my theif was and a level further in half the play time.
All together 30+ hours of gameplay so far, now I'm at this guy.
lol, I was wondering why the Dragon God would have a harpoon shooter, the only thing that could kill him, in his lair? Seems like this dragon wants to be killed or a design flaw from the architects?

The simple answer is: this boss fight is ill-conceived.
I always gets a chuckle when fans tries to justify some underwhleming aspect of a game by inventing their own fiction. The answer is much more conventional: the game designers designed this level to play out this way becuz they don't have the slightest clue to handle dragon battles. Dragon battles in demon's soul is some of the worst combat I have encountered in gaming history.
Maybe the people who trapped the dragon in there put the harpoons incase someone needed to kill it. But then again why couldn't they use the harpoons to kill it themselves? It's just one of those things that we'll never know...
guys, be aware abou a game-breaking bug in htis boss!! you can't die at the same time of dragon god or you won't be able to go to the end zone, the cutscene won't apear at the end...so everybody take care when killing him!!!
This is the greatest game I ever played. But it still sucked because it's so frustratingly hard. So far Im stuck at the penetrator, the maneater, the swamp butcher adjucator archway. Im stuck at the storm archway 2-2. Im getting attacked from all direction and the rolling skeleton man nor death's puppets make it any easy. I think Ill just put the game down the game and come back in a year or two. No point in trading it in because it's worth nothing now.

@SIERR117 this was the easiest boss fight in the game for me, seriously, if you can even call it a fight compared to soloing the Flamelurker. Just put on the Thief's Ring and he won't sense you! I remember getting by this one without the Dragon God even attempting to hit me. A cake walk, literally.
@master2497 not at all lol, they confirmed it's not the same world (not same storyiline anyway, maybe same world but i doubt it) as demon's souls, and that the simple answer to the question "Is it a sequel?" is no, because of that and the producer didn't want to be tied by concepts from the first. So the multiplayer is coming back "enhanced" (we still don't know how), diff is going to be harder, more gear, ennemies, longer playthroughs, better upgrading system and...that's all they said i think.
Man! Fighting a dragon in real life would be awesome! But now, it extinct but people keep on saying is that a dragon? No it's a plane you idiot! Did your mom ever told you that that's a plane?!

Pretty easy boss considering how hard this game is. It wasn't really a boss fight, just more of a puzzle if anything.
Just make sure you're quick. Take off your armour so you can run fast past the dragon.

lol, I was wondering why the Dragon God would have a harpoon shooter, the only thing that could kill him, in his lair? Seems like this dragon wants to be killed or a design flaw from the architects?

The simple answer is: this boss fight is ill-conceived.
I always gets a chuckle when fans tries to justify some underwhleming aspect of a game by inventing their own fiction. The answer is much more conventional: the game designers designed this level to play out this way becuz they don't have the slightest clue to handle dragon battles. Dragon battles in demon's soul is some of the worst combat I have encountered in gaming history.

Maybe the people who trapped the dragon in there put the harpoons incase someone needed to kill it. But then again why couldn't they use the harpoons to kill it themselves? It's just one of those things that we'll never know...

guys, be aware abou a game-breaking bug in htis boss!! you can't die at the same time of dragon god or you won't be able to go to the end zone, the cutscene won't apear at the end...so everybody take care when killing him!!!

This is the greatest game I ever played. But it still sucked because it's so frustratingly hard. So far Im stuck at the penetrator, the maneater, the swamp butcher adjucator archway. Im stuck at the storm archway 2-2. Im getting attacked from all direction and the rolling skeleton man nor death's puppets make it any easy. I think Ill just put the game down the game and come back in a year or two. No point in trading it in because it's worth nothing now.

So...I shot the thing with both harpoons, but his head isn't resting on the ledge...instead he's shaking it around way below the ledge, and I can't hit him at all.

@SIERR117 this was the easiest boss fight in the game for me, seriously, if you can even call it a fight compared to soloing the Flamelurker. Just put on the Thief's Ring and he won't sense you! I remember getting by this one without the Dragon God even attempting to hit me. A cake walk, literally.

@master2497 not at all lol, they confirmed it's not the same world (not same storyiline anyway, maybe same world but i doubt it) as demon's souls, and that the simple answer to the question "Is it a sequel?" is no, because of that and the producer didn't want to be tied by concepts from the first. So the multiplayer is coming back "enhanced" (we still don't know how), diff is going to be harder, more gear, ennemies, longer playthroughs, better upgrading system and...that's all they said i think.
